I connected with this film so much. I feel like if I saw this film when I was a teenager, I would have come out as queer earlier. I truly think this film will save lives.
trevor took the words right out of my mouth. the film resonated with me deeply, and it’s really comforting knowing that someone out there understands. it’s easy to feel so alone at times, so thank you for talking about your experiences. it made me feel seen.
this film really resonated for me in a very similar way! loved this review, thank you for sharing the way it impacted you personally in addition to reviewing the technical aspects
guys, so impressed by you! i saw amanda's review (the jedi, not maddy's bitchy friend) and was looking around for other semi in-depth reviews and there slim pickings here on yt... very pleasantly surprised to find yours - especially given your genuine and eloquent review from such a small channel! being cis and straight, i will never have the direct experience of queerness, but I still loved the movie and totally agree with you that the movie sorta transcends that in that one should aspire to be true to oneself and "wake up" to life. keep up the good work! ps: one of the shots that sent a shudder down my spine was when owen was walking down the halls of his high school and the motivational quotes were on the walls and the last one, i think, said 'pain is weakness leaving your body.' there's a chance very few people even noticed it and it's towards the start of the movie so all the dread and dreary atmosphere hasn't really settled in yet and it's just one shot. but man, i FELT that. that sense that you need to grind your teeth and just pull through it (this is also a small example of the movie's core transcending what is nonetheless its unique queer identity).
Watched the movie in theaters twice. I am not sure if i enjoy it, but each time i watched it i had a visceral emotional reaction. I really appreciate the film and think it was well done will be thinking about it for a while

I found some similarities with Araki's filmography. Highly recommended if you like this vibe but sadder and more catastrophic.
It made me think of Araki's Nowhere.

I could connect with this film and I’m straight i myself get lost in media movies games tv shows and childhood trauma
Watched last night, 5/5. A brilliant masterpiece
Such a great film! Never seen anything like it for sure
What did you think of I Saw the TV Glow?
I thought it was weird and nuts. Basically, only people with mental deficiencies could relate with a movie so abstract and simple...
