Perfect video and content headlight pro you can really grind with those 220s. Are you using a soft touch or applying pressure? Just curious. I'm asking bc I know you use a soft touch but there are times when using p500s and p800s where ill dig into the light in those problem areas and it's fine. Thank you.
Sometimes with these heavier grits I apply a bit more pressure.. but it's very tricky and a little advantage because what's underneath it is soft... Drop a new video... th-cam.com/video/Xc1QVKFAmyQ/w-d-xo.htmlsi=tZUgfM6bU-U96K-b
I'm about to do a headlight restoration on my Accord soon. For protection what do you first and foremost recommend on a product to protect the headlights from oxidizing and yellowing again?
By breaching, do you mean that there is a bad seal somewhere on the headlight?...which is letting in condensation & contamination correct? Or the clear coat cracking has etched its way into the plastic deeper.
Do you recommend UV lamps if I'm forced to do the job in the shade? If so, UV lamp which do you recommend? Do those lil black lights flashlights actually work?
UV lamps don't do shit... The ones that do are usually expensive and don't do the proper thing when it comes to headlight coating.. it changes a lot of stuff about the drying and the curing process of the hardening of the coating in any headlight coating.. Natural drying is better especially for headlight coatings.. they drive faster and better and meant to be dried with air... So what I do as you might have seen on this video is I use fans AKA forced air drying to introduce more air into the situation.. the light kicks off moisture.. with forced air drying even in cold weather it dries in about 60 - 120 seconds..(meguiars) I would not recommend any UV light I have a 500 plus dollar one in the garage that was useless in the long run you'll start running into clear coat that peels and discolors really quick and other weird aspects like fogging... Natural is the way to go air drying and forced air drying.... New video th-cam.com/video/3_sjEIGLCM4/w-d-xo.htmlsi=mWYtKYTPY8yc-6dg
Watch clear coat dries in about 120 seconds..... 30 seconds for the crust.... It's the fastest growing product on the market.... Check this video out and can explain it better than I can in text.. Forced air drying just a method to use it helps with adherence quality of clarity and transparency..... And is faster as it dries from an oxygen exchange like most other headlight clear coats designed for headlights... ONLY on these crazy hard lights with 2k or naturally factory hard lights...(grind hazards only). Just to protect the paint...extra safe....not on every light...

Hi, great videos and explanation. I see a lot of detailers in the area charging like $50-$60. I was just curious what you would estimate your total cost per a set of headlights is? Yeah a lot of detailers will charge that much because they're not doing nothing but 10 minute headlight polishing which is not have a restoration but they will sell it as that they're notorious for doing this...
