Acura updated the TLX for 2024, tweaking the styling, adding a new paint color, and increasing screens count and size inside. I certainly welcome the addition of wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. But Acura also changed the factory tire offerings and played with the throttle map. Does that help or hurt driving fun? We find that out and so much more.

I love this car. I really love the Lexus IS 500. I prefer the copper wheels on this one. Both cars have great quality, and awesome value.💙✌️

Acura’s crazy to do all these journalist TH-cam reviews and then decides to hold production till the end of May. There are zero 2024 TLX-S in California right now in dealer lots.

@@frankie.d1127 I just saw one earlier today in Poughkeepsie NY, beautiful urban grey pearl with the copper wheels, looks crazy. Gonna get one in like 8-9 months slightly used cause I can’t spend over 60k (after taxes) on a car

After five weeks and almost 1,000 miles on my new Type S, I'm extremely happy with this car and agree with your overall assessment. It's just been a joy to drive on a daily basis, and I love the way it looks. I played around with the "Sport Plus" mode for the first time the other day (after careful break-in miles and an oil change), and concur with your comments about the twitchy throttle response. I don't see that as a problem, however, as I anticipate using that mode maybe 5% of the time at most. For typical street driving, the plain old "Sport" mode yields excellent performance with a much more linear throttle.
As far as the Integra Type S goes, it definitely has some attributes that I wish my car had. My last Acura was an 05 TL with the 6-speed manual, and I'd love to have that transmission again with the TLX. The practicality of the Integra's hatchback design is also undeniable. In the end, I still chose the TLX because of its superior chassis and drive-train (double wishbone front suspension and SH-AWD), relatively understated appearance and more comfortable interior for driver and front seat passenger. In addition, dealers in my area are still applying "additional dealer markup" to the Integra Type S, making its out-the-door price essentially identical to what I paid for my car.

Though this is not an M or AMG level this is a really good car and alternative for budget and realibilitya-centric buyers.

How's the road noise in this Honda Acura product? If you know what I mean about this brand.

Cool review. About the non-linear accelerator in ‘plus’ mode: I think light switch like turbos (e.g. older WRXs) have a certain appeal and have gotten plenty of people to equate that nonlinear delivery with “performance”.

Thank you! And, yes, I agree, people tend to like that feeling of the car responding very quickly to your right foot. But man, takes away finesse.

I'm sure it's a great drive, but inside, it's a compact car. Sit in the backseat of a Lexus ES350 and you'll see the difference.

You' re right. And I said exactly that right at the top of getting in the back seat, its classified as a compact car. And, yeah, the ES has more space: th-cam.com/video/iiQM2nvL_Mc/w-d-xo.htmlsi=S5JmsEG4Nbr2Q256&t=270

What I can’t wrap my head around is the fact that they completely skipped over the new touchscreen infotainment and only gave it to the MDX for some unknown reason?!?!
Also, for $60k the plastic on the back of the seats is completely unacceptable. It looks so cheap and low-grade it’s disgusting.

I agree that what Acura offers on the updated MDX is better. My best guess was cost of implementation on the TLX was just too high, for whatever reason. The MDX has a few smart upgrades, by the way: th-cam.com/video/33d37uJDJXs/w-d-xo.htmlsi=kfAhGzjDqQZHxUHe
