Want to see how close 0.03 seconds looks from behind the wheel? We've published a bonus video comparing the two cars' onboards here th-cam.com/video/LD1Nq159PFo/w-d-xo.html
Not in the immediate pipeline due to the extensive work and ££ to get it fit for public use, but watch this longer term space. If the economic situation improves…
Lotus Sevens and Caterhams should be driven like nothing i experienced. Its not about wrestling with the car but, show him where you want to go with the steering wait and softly compensate the oversteering that comes inmediatly after. I would have gone one gear higher in almost every corner.
This is the type of car you should buy and put inside a nice clean garage with a dust cover over it for a long time (if you have the money) because in the future when all the cars are crappy, heavy, automatic, battery powered pieces of crap, this Caterham 7 420R will be a diamond in the rough.
Hi Shane, unfortunately there’s little chance of a reopening of the track thanks to the extensive costs involved. But we are hoping to host events now and then, and drifting is high up the priority list :)
It would be interesting to see if the 620 could beat the 420 ..I mean you'd think it would but on a circuit that's mostly curves and bends maybe the extra power won't be much of an advantage.
Thanks, Constantin! We actually set out to record a whole lap of the pedals but our camera clamp couldn’t hang on with the G-forces 😢 We’ll pack more duct tape next time!
@@cinch Haha, don't worry! ;) Great, thanks! It's already very cool to be able to do this, and really continue to keep this angle, it's very informative (and Sam is a very good pilot :D ).

H ,
Hi
Properly wringing the neck out of that Caterham , love to see it
Nice lap! I really miss driving Rockingham with mine, please do whatever you can to bring the circuit back into use :)
.km
Thanks! We'd certainly love to host events one day, when it becomes a possibility :)
Finally, someone that actually can really lap Caterham.
Good timing - Sam's back in a new Caterham very soon. Don't forget to subscribe to see what we get up to 😄
any plans to bring Rockingham back onto the track day calendar? i'd love to throw my radical around it.

Would like to see a time from someone who knows how to drive it properly! Quite painful to watch but a good review nonetheless
Bollocks
IT's absolutely not bollocks@@jamieorton6809
Chunk of time in that lap for sure!
Just watched and thought the same. Wtf are those steering inputs. Might aswell use computer keyboard arrows

I bet the drift king would have a blast with that
Any update for re opening ? Drifting? !

Why on earth did you have the roof up?!
The doors and windscreen on? And the Cat on???
I think it's just for doing the talking part..he's very good at both in my opinion.

We are certainly aiming to investigate this when the weather improves, Stephen! 😜
This company should work with Pemleton t
24 I Believe they would be a good match for each other
Great try, as usual! Could you add more pedalcam views in your next videos to appreciate Sam's techniques please? But otherwise great!

Not particularly clean lap and on wet tires, but good effort ;)
Looks like an oversteery setup cost lots of time too.
It was certainly a wild ride, Samuel! On a warmer day we’d expect those tyres to work much better. 620 R, anyone..?

The Avon ZZS tyres on the caterham aren’t equivalent to the cup 2 tyres on the GT4. With ZZR tyres the caterham would have been even quicker.
I thought Rockingham was a car park these days?
Not since we nabbed the keys 😛
