They lost the game today because Liverpool played their strongest team from the start. We lost the game in the first leg where Klopp didn’t respect them thought he could rest players and still win against them. Today showed they are not at the same level as our best team. Klopp selection in the first game is why we are out.

It's a big result because Atalanta are not having the best of seasons domestically while Liverpool are locked in a title race. Atalanta have looked fragile defensively in Serie A so it's quite a feat for them.
The "top" Italian teams like Inter may not be able to compete at the highest level in the CL, but there is clearly underestimated strength in depth in Serie A (and conversely, English strength beyond the top 2-3 is overestimated).
Wow Stevie playing the “what if” game as an excuse. I’m sure Atalanta had good scoring chances in both legs that they missed, never heard him say “what if” about those chances, only Liverpool’s chances….

As a Liverpool supporter I welcome this result. With both Arsenal and Manchester City knocked out of the Champions League and with 6 League games remaining in such a tight race I saw no benefits of playing twice again on a Thursday night.
The last couple of weeks for Liverpool have been one that they would want to forget. I never expected them to go on and win the quadruple, how do you go from being in contention to win 4 trophies to potentially ending the season with just the Carabao Cup. Jurgen Klopp’s farewell season at Liverpool is slowly unraveling and he’s facing his worst ever nightmare. The problems they had started before the international break with Manchester United of all teams knocking them out of the FA Cup in extra time ending their quadruple hopes in the process and weeks later they dealt with another blow this time in the Premier League dominating Manchester United at Old Trafford in terms of shots and possession, yet only came away with a 2-2 draw and then lost to Crystal Palace at home.
Now they’re out of the Europa League thanks to Atalanta demolishing them in the first leg. Now they have the premier league title race to focus on and even that since Manchester City are back top of the Premier League table with 6 games to go and you know what happens every season when they’re in this position, Liverpool are now relying on the results of other teams in order to win the league. Funny enough, just like Liverpool, the 2 other contenders in this year’s title race Manchester City and Arsenal got knocked out of the Champions League on the same day meaning that there’s no more European competitions for all 3 of them to deal with for the remainder of the season.I can’t believe that their season is about to end like this and they unraveled at the worst possible time.
All teams come prepared to play against English teams, Germany, Italy get more viewshhip of the English league then any other league, having English teams in the euro finals means extra 300 to 500million people watching, let's be serious no one cares Leverkusen won the German league, nobody cares inter have won, and no on watching them, I remember back in the middle 90s when everyone used to watch Italians league on a Sunday, back then you only had one premiership game

This is the crazy thing. As a Liverpool fan myself who has watched almost all matches since Salah has come- it’s evident he’s always been wasteful and not as world class as people say. Yes he scores, but he also gets more chances than any other player. In the last couple years we’ve seen him get slower and his touch even poorer. When you have inconsistent scorers in Nunez and Diaz you can’t afford Salah to continue missing his chances as well.

I think Liverpool need a new way of playing to compliment some of the new players now. Liverpools peak was when they had box to box midfielders who worked hard. Their midfield now is very technical, they need something different.

Be honest most teams are not going to come back after a 3-0 difference. There is some exceptions for some teams but it’s pretty difficult even for a top tier club
We've done some severe mistakes in past few years. Buying players like Nunez add no value. Couldn't even grab good forwards like Havertz, Mount or Paulisic that Chelsea released for low.
