Honestly if Reavers could use their grapple guns to buff their charge range on the table top that could possibly make that squad more useful and maybe worth taking for once.
There malees bad though so it wouldn't help.
@lizadon0740 oh agreed, they're still a suboptimal choice versus basically almost the entire codex of infantry options but possibly they could be less terrible.
Maybe the charge buff plus maybe some ap or extra attacks could help but you're right the reavers were kinda painted into a corner when first released and gw has done a terrible job in addressing them.
i know when val said "a 30 minute video" in the back of his head he said to him self "yeah fuckin right"
I hoped librarian would be a class
possibly added as a DLC later on?
And a Chaplain, and an Apothecary, and a Techmarine...
They've got forever. They make this game they can make whatever they like players will buy anything as long as it's good.
That's what companies forget players cant wait to reward a company for giving them what they want,it's when they get greedy and try to trick you into wanting some bs is when they get broke.
@@_A.d.G_ it would be awesome to use terminator armor or the bulkier gravis armor.
Even being a scout could be cool
@@Bass-ef3dr I think the heavy class is the one with the gravis armor.
Team chat comms in this game are gonna be freakin funny. A lot of “For the emperor!” and “Blood for the blood god!”
and we wouldn't have it any other way "FOR THE EMPEROR"
All is dust.
The emperor protects!
Excited to see the chaos customization
The sooner they optimize the game the sooner they can focus on more options. I'm wondering how they're gonna do dlc. Showed us Khorn,Nurgle and Black Legion so how much comes with that is anyones guess
@@maltheri9833 they are most likely going to put the thousand sons since they are one of the main villians fo the story

EmployereRak, you’re missing 10-20 minutes of work here. I will be preparing a performance improvement plan.
This is part one 👀

I'm excited to make a Dark Angel Bulwark.
I feel like a crack head who hasn’t gotten a fix every time I see new space marine 2 stuff
Greetings from Australia brother Valrak (also known as Catachan because apparently we’re viewed as a death world due to spiders, snakes etc) 😆🗡️
🇦🇺
Welcome, brother!
Straya mate
Blame the British on some of those deathworld traits. Jk jk. Welcome
Other than a lush jungle, Australia’s got everything needed to become a mini catachan lol
My biggest question - are we locked to just Ultramarines for the co-op mode? The customization only seemed to show Ultramarines, but the PvP mode showed multiple different traitor legion options, so will we be able to play as other loyalist chapters? I really need to be playing as a Black Templar or Imperial Fist.
Valrak and everyone all excited about SM2
Me still disappointed Tyranids will not be playable in the game
…yet 👀
always wanted to play as those bugs. maybe one day... (maybe in some kind of DLC or something)
Oh fuck off, this game is called Space Marine. Let them perfect one thing so this shit doesn't end up like Darktide or Eternal Crusade.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought I heard in an early video that we may be able to play chaos in the PVP game mode so maybe they'll add an option to play nids in there too
They'll be able to do whatever they like this game is gonna make Saber big forever. Whether they do right by their game is their choice but it's their goty to win
This game is going to be absolutely divine. I can tell
Did anyone else see that brother weaving a dreadnought? The emperors protects
I’ll be going in as a assault class like i did in the first game,Blasting into the air and thundering down with my thunder hammer 😂
Also like WWZ,I wonder if you’ll be able to go solo vs the Tyranids with bots.
Imma go tactical like always when I did the og, but I'm even more tempted to play the class in the new one cause this one lets you have a chain sword. Im also intrigued to play the Phobos armored riever, looks cool
Thinking I’ll do the same. Thunder hammer my beloved.
I'm feeling bulwark fellas, power sword and shield, with a plasma gun in the shield hand 👌👌
@@lordfarquad7750 We gon go crusading boyz
@@lordfarquad7750 That’ll be very solid on the game i’m guessing,Your like the tank of space marines
I really hope they let us customize our marines color scheme like we could in the first game
They will
What's the likelihood we actually get a full army painter? Would love to actually get to play something close to my tabletop paint scheme ( Loyalist Alpha Legion, turquoise and silver)
I wish you could play as the bugs too. Would be so cool if you could play coop vs SM, start as a gaunt and as you do damage, you gain points to spawn as bigger organisms such as Warrior, Lictor, Pyrovore all the way up to a Carnifex and at the end of the mission you could even become a Hive Tyrant. Damn, that´d be awesome!
this game can be truly somethibg else..
I'll take one Dark Angles blade guard, please.
I bet that triple icon on the upper right is what the squad member is assigned to do in game. Melee, ranged, heal as basic orders while purging the unclean.
Tactical is a given. This is the Intercessor, so the main armament will be a bolt rifle, with secondary armaments being a bolt pistol and chainsword. Alternative weapons will likely be the plasma incinerator, as Hellblasters are the modern equivalent to the old Tactical Support squads, and maybe a pyreblaster, although the ability icons lack any indication of flame weapons. At higher levels, we may see the Tactical class become a Sternguard Veteran of sorts and receive combi-weapons and an upgraded Sternguard bolt rifle. They could get other melee weapons besides a chainsword, but I feel like them getting access to most power weapons would diminish the Assault class.
Assault is also an easy guess. This is the Assault Intercessor, with a heavy bolt pistol and chainsword for main armanents. Alternative weapons could be a hand flamer, plasma pistol, power weapons, and thunder hammers at higher levels. Because they haven't shown these guys as much, I think it's likely that we'll have a ground version and a jump pack version, and I would hazard a guess that the jump pack might not be available at the start, maybe somewhere between level 5 and 10.
Heavy is almost assuredly going to be a Heavy Intercessor, with access to heavy bolt rifles and heavy bolters, and alternative weapons will likely be melta rifles and multi-meltas like an Eradicator. We could also see boltstorm gauntlets and flamestorm gauntlets used by Aggressors, and while they aren't equipped in Gravis armour, the superfrag and superkrak rocket launchers used by Desolators would also be a good fit for the heavy. While I think it's highly unlikely, I could see the Heavy gaining access to Terminator armour at high levels, and the choice to not show the Heavy in the previews is in an attempt to keep this a secret until closer to launch to build more hype.
The next three classes seem to be pretty cut and dry, and I don't think there will be a huge amount of customization or flexibility in them. I believe the Vanguard will be equipped similarly to Infiltrators, Incursors, and Reivers, but they will not have access to Eliminator or Suppressor wargear. The Vanguard will likely have bolt carbines, bolt pistols, and combat knives, along with the grapnel launcher from Reivers and possibly haywire mines from the Incursors. There are different patterns of bolt carbines that could fleche out the monotony of the class, but I think this will be about it for the Vanguard.
The Sniper is a Vanguard Eliminator. They'll have a bolt sniper rifle and a las fusil, along with a pistol and combat knife like the Vanguard. From the class icons, it also looks like they'll have access to the Instigator-pattern bolt carbine that the Vanguard Captain and Eliminator Sergeants can take in the tabletop, so we could see the Sniper with a more versatile weapon and not just limited to a sniper rifle.
The Bulwark is a Bladeguard Veteran, and I think that's about it. A power sword and storm shield, and possibly a couple alternate melee weapons like a thunder hammer. For pistols they have a bolt pistol and they could get access to a plasma pistol and hand flamer and maybe even a neo-volkite pistol like the Bladeguard lieutenant.
I cannot wait for this! Great preview on the classes. Would love to see all the visual customisation for each class too
Would've loved an Apothecary class but if there's still ways for healing I'm all for it
I also concur since Vanguard is a nightmare balance in the making for SM2 if my theory is correct. He can't be as powerful in Range and Melee than Tactical or Assault but he can't also be better than the Sniper in Assassination since Sniper can also be knife Assassin base on Cloaking and Knife/Dagger skills shown by Valrak on skill tree. An Apothecary (Healer archetype) is easier to balance than Vanguard (Thief/Rogue archetype basically budget Assassin). Plus Vanguard wears a Phobos Armor so his armor and health can't be higher than Tact and Assault basically relegating to Jack of All but squishy.
@ColdNavigator Too little information for now but if I'm spitballing now, I think the Tact have a few support/team buff coupled with DPS keystones on his skill tree, base on the keystone icon presented by Valrak. But as I said too little info and gameplay to infer where archetype Vanguard will fall into hence my confusion and balance nightmare opinion. Still interested what they'll do with it nonetheless
The abilities on the right, I feel, are ultimates. I think they represent a huge ability be it for yourself or your team with a long cooldown.
The tactical’s ultimates will provide general squad buffs, the vanguards will focus on taunting or defensive auras, while the assault has melee damage buffs. I can see the snipers being critical or elite damage.
In my opinion, the heavy will likely get a damage/fire rate buff/aura and extra ordnance.
I’m VERY new to this franchise and Space Marine 2 is what’s getting me hooked so I’m happy to see content being made about it! (Now time to watch the video)
Hello, have you met our Loyalist's Lord and Savior? The Emperor of Mankind, beloved by all? Remember, Imperial Fists are the best! 😊
@@re1v3r am I being swayed 👀
Probably worth looking at the levelling in WwZ developed by the same team to see how it’s likely going to be implemented in SM2
The same,But more advanced.
Can confirm as a veteran WWZ player,Looks the same to me.
@@Jza-GZa40kis it a good system? Never played WWZ
@KingInBlack69 Pretty solid. It looks very similar but not sure how creative they are with perks. In WWZ perks were very mid so im expecting far more creativity this time around. The way the weapons work is similar too with each weapon having different variants that upgrade with better stats and looks. It's a great transition for what they were going for. Great studio to pick up space marine
@@KingInBlack69 It’s good,I like it,They re-made it a year odd ago and it’s very simple to understand,Weapon upgrades,Melee upgrades depending how much you complete missions and use those weapons.
I'm figuring the three perks on the side are subclasses for some reason, considering you can play as the Reiver but I've also seen the infiltrator and incursor bolters in the trailer too.
Imagin in future they get creative and add a librarian and tormentor. So excited for this game
Fantastic! I hadn't realised the Reiver was using his grapple-gun to do that jump kick, I was wondering what the hell was going on and now it makes sense. Cheers :)
i already see me and the bros using 3 bulwarks and 3 heavys in 6v6
There are so many cool possibilities with these classes. Im very interested in the heavy class. We know it’s gravis armor so I’m hoping it’ll get access to boltstorm gauntlets for like an Aggressor build. I’m hoping that as well that we’ll be able to get cosmetic capes for our non-sniper classes. I really want to be able to play with a build that’s like the gravis captain mini. That would be SO cool.
I'm hyped to see how the Heavy bolt Rifle will work.
I will absolutely play an exclusively imperial fist Bulwark, and i trust they will give us a powerfist/ Thunderhammer/ or even just a power maul for that class
Great info here thanks Val! I will be streaming as i cant wait for it to hit we just need now confirmation if the greatest Astartes will be playable the GREY KNIGHTS! 😊
A hord mode would be sick. But set it up like a giant raid system
Can I just say, having primaris models has made this game so much better.
They feel big asf compared to Space Marine 2.

I’m really wondering if you choose a chapter that wears tabards if it will be represented, like dark angels or black Templars , ( along with the chains )
I didn't know there were different classes. This is very neat I plan on upgrading and using Tactical and assualt 1st.
Hey Valrak I may have forgotten but did you not cover the heavy class?
I did towards the end but we never had a class preview of it
Nice insight. Where was the interview posted?
Link is in the video description, mate.
So now I know I’ll be playing Bulwark. The blade guard Veterans are my favorite space marine unit, so I knew from the moment I saw it in the trailer I would be whatever class gave me that shield
As always another awesome video from you :D i am so excited for the new warhammer 40k space marine 2 game, that grappling hook looks bad ass!
They have to do a Death Company skin!
Seems like there is a ranged and a melee variant for each of the three types of primaris armor, sniper and vanguard in phobos, tactical and assault in tacticus, and heavy and bulwark in gravis
My guess is that if we get suppressors in the game it will be some kind of jumping heavy instead of in the vanguard. But honestly if the heavy at high levels could access the drop gravis armor and use assault bolters or the suppressors auto-cannon that would be awesome.
The Bulwark class reminds me of the Captain from the Indomitus box a bit. Bladeguard fits too though.
There he goes bringing class into it again.
Tactical, assult and sniper class are gunna be my go toos for sure.
Second vote for the Bulwark! That's my first pick too. I've 4 squads of Bladeguard in my army.
Honestly when i heard that there were gonna be classes i assumed itd be like "assault marine, tactical marine, chaplain, apothecary, scout, librarian."
I wonder if they’ll do perk and blessing rolls and consecration systems like dark tide
If so that would be awesome
They're all look interesting but definitely leaning today's bulwark and Devastator marine
I hope the Bulwarks banner skills attract enemies. Obviously in medieval combat standard bearers were targets and taking them out would demoralise the enemy
Ready to start grinding and maxing out all 6 classes 💪
I hope lighting claws or and power fists are a melee option. But what I really want is to make a Black Templar marine.
It would be cool if when you get to the end of the skill tree you start at the top again and choose a second one.
I hope this game is at least half as dope as it looks. So cool
What about the Heavy? We know we get meltas and heavy bolters because, Gravis, but do we get dual flamers like the Aggressors too? I doubt we get plasma guns like the Inceptors, though.
We haven’t seen that yet but I wouldn’t be surprised if that eventually gets out in
i think flamers are a not go for balance reason in pvp, but still i would love to see aggressor gameplay nonetheless
@@TauEnjoyer That makes sense. I was thinking against Tyranids for the campaign stuff.
@@Sir_Tomoyuki yeah for sure im omega down for it! but idk if they can make Titus wear a Mark X Gravis, but since they have the model for the Heavy class, why not?
@@TauEnjoyer Yeah! Dual flamers - Aggressor slash Firebats, ha ha ha.
The tactical class at level 25 had one skill per 3 while the level 6 assault and others had all chosen. So... It looks like you can have a maximum of 8 at once?
Thanks for the new info Valrak.
Looking at the vanguards legs and torso area is it part of the Primaris lore that some of them have lighter ceramite armor types for quicker movement/reflexive stuff?
Vanguard marines wear Phobos armor, which is just Tacticus armor with less protection, to let them move faster and quieter
@@CMTechnica Ah figures it would be something simple. I gotta admit the Phobos armor does pretty good.
Question:- do you think/ know if their will be an army painter option when customising your marine? Or will it just have set legions?
Also I know you mentioned during this video you hope you will be able to customise your weapon loadouts but I'm hoping for a chain axe and a carcharodons colour pallet. 🦈 🦈 🦈 🦈 🦈
Idk what game modes there’ll be but a capture the flag game where you have to carry a giant banner that buffs your squad back to base would be AMAZING
I just want to see more customisation through challenges, such as gaining the ability to unlock different eye lens colour, chains, seals, holy symbols etc. be cool af
If they master a great balance of unlockable in game skins it'll make buying extra cosmetics more of a consensual feeling rather than doing it because there's like 15 options at launch 😂
@@maltheri9833 yeah no doubt man, fingers crossed ey
Guys, I'm so thankful for this. We only live one time...and we get to experience this.
I hope the Vanguard is able to choose how it plays between the 4 types mentioned. It would be cool to see the potential to have a bit faster but maybe less powerful heavy weapons.
On another note, I wonder if the 6v6 mode is going to be a one per class. So one Tactical, Heavy/Devastator, Sniper, Vanguard, Bulwark, and Assault per team
Hope not
From the skill tree image and trailer clips you’re probably building into one of the 3 main Phobos units (Reivers, Infiltrators, and Incursors). Seeing as this is the same studio that did WWZ, and that’s exactly how it works there, I’d put money on this being the case.
The trailer all but confirms PvP teams can be whatever. The loyalist team has 5 guys in Phobos, but I can’t tell if they’re all vanguard save for the sniper or if there’s more than one sniper.
Regardless, that’s 5~ players playing the vanguard class in the trailer.
@@CMTechnica Fair enough, I didn’t catch that for the multiplayer part
Val. I'm going to be at the Denver Fan Expo where they'll be having a SM2 demo available to play. What's something you'd like to know specifically for me to look out for?
Awesome! Can you ask them maybe more about PVP? Will chaps have the options to customise their skins and armour like we’ve seen with Space Marine
I'm curious how the vanguard and sniper will look on the chaos side, since they don't have a phobos like armor.
Chaos classes are probably just based around the weapon
I know they haven't shown it, but i really hope they have a psyker class or add one post game.
this game could be the next big thing, give us some "Sisters of Battle" characters to as play as for the MP
Vanguard is also a mystery to me as well. He's wearing a Phobos armor so he's already light armored type with decent mobility. But we have Assault class with Jump packs and dedicated melee attacker (Warrior archetype) with more mobility than Vanguard. We also have Tactical for Range support DPS (Archer archetype) so Vanguard being hybrid range/melee will be neither better than those 2 dedicated class but have lesser armor (or health). Sniper is also a variant of Vanguard and also has Phobos armor with cloak so an Assassin archetype possibly since he can also melee invi build I presume.
Overall Vanguard will possibly fall to a budget Assassin or Thief/Rogue archetype with faster move speed and decent gap close that neither excel in Range and Melee than Tactical or Assault. Having a higher DPS than Assault or Tactical will break the balance and relegate their archetype and being better Assassin will make the Sniper a cheap imitation of Vanguard. I honestly don't know why they put Vanguard as a class since its just a balance nightmare in the making.
I dont know , maybe the grapple skill its what will make the real difference between being pure tactical or assault ?
I‘m so hyped for Bulwark!
Hopefully, the assault marine class isn't spammed as badly in pvp as it was in the original.
Bulwark is going to be so god damn great as everyone channels their inner Ignis
Now I really wonder about the gameplay. In what way are they going to make stealth relevant. Hopefully not as a specific points type of thing, but with how everything just looks like its to battle to battle to battle type of thing. Not much downtime. Idk just really didnt expect stealth or know how they are planning to handle that. lol xD
the monetisation is gonna go hard in this game. And i dont think i'll be able to stop myself
I love when creators say “new this” “new that” “this just in” and it’s just them talking about a video we’ve already seen that’s 2 weeks old
Man they need to add a space marine Librarian. I wonder if the heavy is just a gravis armoured marine?
No apothecary or tech priest?
one thing, How do you make spots only the Vanguard would be able to get to if the assault has a JETPACK
I wonder how classes will work for Chaos players because most of these loadouts wouldn't have a direct Chaos equivalent? PvP in Space Marine was always Imperium vs Chaos and I wonder if that will be the same here? Also the Chaos Marines we do see in the promo stuff do have proper boltguns which we haven't seen the Primaris loyalists use.
I think it's just cosmetic but a chaos "normal" boltgun's closest imperial equivalent in the primaris range would probably be the bolt carbine, which is only really notable for having an additional vertical grip up front.
@@tau-5794 chaos don't have a phobos marine equivalent though, or a gravis equivalent. So I wonder how this is going to work.
They’re not going to make 6 extra classes just for CSM. It’ll be weapon based. The sniper will be a legionary with a bolt sniper, etc.
If we can change our chapter for all classes, I'm so repping the Dark Angels and Blood Angels. Maybe the Blue boys too.
Bulwark definitely feels like a terminator marine
I want them to add more classes. Agressors, terminators, apothecaries, librarians and so on. All with their own weapons and skills. Im up for such DLCs.
I really hope they let you change your chapter from just the ultramarines too. I want to play as my chapter
I wonder if this game will have pvp like 2011!? I loved the pvp in the first game hope they do it again, also horde mode making a come would be so cool
Loved the Vid man
I hope we get a librarian class later on
What I’m hoping for is Bulwark gets a aggro ability.
I kinda wish the different classes were actual warhammer unit types, like librarians, apothecaries, terminators, etc. instead of just basic fps character types. Either way im sure itll be fun though
I can’t wait. I haven’t been excited for the multiplayer part of a game in a long time. I think the last time I got this excited for a game was back in 2016 for DOOM.
As a Gravis armour boy, I will be rocking the heavy armour
Which class has the melta or the flamer... that's my class. :D
Vanguard or Bulwark are what I most interested in! =)
So excited for this 🙌
FOR POSUL!!!!!
Looks stunning, animations and everything look 10/10. Customization and diff classes add nice amount of depth. More weapons is better. I hope the game delivers what it promises in trailer, recent AAA-studio game release disappointments made me to be pessimistic. PVP and PVE both are really small scale, 3 and 12, which is somehow less than in previous Space Marine - as if devs expect player base around this game to be small to fill the matches more easily? so no Eternal Crusade like PVP festival, which was a bummer. Also hope they check weapon sounds (bolters must have enough kick and oompf) and flamer range seemed extremely short in one trailer..Also will be disappointed if game lacks taunt/shout button, nothing is more epic than "for the Emperor!" shouted before you ram your blade into the enemy.
How do you think these customisations will translate to Chaos?
Class wise? It’ll be the weapon.
Probably firstborn armor otherwise
SWEET EMPEROR! How many videos are you going to make about a videogame???
SO MANY
