    That deburring tool looked excellent. Nice to see some progress on the loco 😀

      Thanks Julia, hope you had a good Christmas. I wouldn't be without the sheet deburring tool, before I found them my hands were covered in cuts. Plenty more to come on the loco!! All the best, Matt 👍🚂

      Thank you, I’m pretty chuffed how they turned out, although the true test is when paint is added to them. 😂. All the best, Matt 👍🚂

    I hated sheet metal work when I was a fitter, lol. I worked for Ford Motor Company in the factory for 15 years, but I spent the last 5 years in the new machine shop that used to be an oil store. The new chief engineer bought some really nice second-hand machine tools from a college: a shaper, three lathes, two milling machines, and a surface grinder. I did not have to work shifts anymore! I just made one or two offs. Great job in an immaculate workshop. The they closed down😒

      That's a shame!! I was a master of sheet metal work with no tools, now I can use the tools too 😂. All the best, Matt 👍

    As an arc welder and angle grinder man whose engineering skills are at best agricultural I never fail to be impressed by the quality of your work. Thanks for a year of great content. Looking forward to seeing what you get up to in 2025.

    I think you should re-make the cylinder skins again so we can see how you fold them.
    Only joking!
    Many thanks Matt for sharing your excellent engineering skills with us throughout 2024.
    Wishing yourself and your viewers a Very Happy New Year!
    See you in 2025. - Fletch -

      Many Thanks Fletch, much appreciated. There were a few norse sounding words in the workshop when I realised it had not recorded the folds. All the best for the new year, I have no idea what we will get up too, but hopefully it involves steam! All the best, Matt 👍🚂

    Hy Matt, why do you drill with the Z-axis instead the pinole ?

    • @MattChiversWorkshop
      @MattChiversWorkshop  19 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Hi, I'm not sure what a pinole is?! I used the z-axis because it's on the DRO! The quill isn't. All the best, Matt 👍🚂

    • @huibhoogendoorn503
      @huibhoogendoorn503 19 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@MattChiversWorkshop Sorry Matt I meen the quill, than I understand. So you have to make a DRO on the quill. That's easy, I made one to the quill. I never use the Z-axis for drilling because there is an power feet on the Z-axis.
