Yes Ma'am, Miss Patti is the best that ever picked up a microphone. She is the goddess of sound. She was untouchable when she started and still remains untouchable.
@@ahlfar1901 When I want to see a dramatic soprano exhibit range and power, Patti is my go to. I love Patti! But I’m also honest about the quality of her voice.
Surprising my first concert I went to was December 9th, 2019 at the MGM National Harbor and it was Patti LaBelle I was 13, I tell you no lie, if one of Patti;s band member daughters were there, I would've been the only child their. It was surprising, my generation don't know real music, I mean except me.
Yeah I wish I could have seen her live. She isn't as arrogant as Dionne we saw her live and she had a standing ovation only she didn't come out and give us any -- I was a bit upset over that -- I mean we're her fans. Patti though was more into her audience. Played with them and brought them up on stage interacted with the audience -- listen to her range I mean incredible.
Brilliant performance, Harrah's Lake Tahoe 1984? included this cover, amazing. Everyone was literally dancing on top of every table in the showroom. Thanks Patti. Oh, an some unknown named Arsenio Hall opened for her!
I may have been in one of the audience cause I've tried to see her as much as I could. Who ever sang behind could blow ! I've been as close as the 3rd row.Thank all of you for the entertainment experience of a Lifetime !!!! I cry just like I'm in church.
"part 3" .....and still have to enjoy them all by myself. Of course I have "Don't block the blessings", and her cooking-books etc.etc....but sometimes you just wanna share the feeling that a beautiful sunset (for example) can give you - catch my drift lol:-)? And Carla, you having be on the road with miss Patti, MY Miss Patti - OUR MISS PATTI?! I envy you in the most lovingly way for that! Had the privilige to see Patti LaBelle perform live here twice.... BIIIIIG hug from Sander from Amsterdam!
I noticed that Carla Benson wrote a compliment on this page. Carla if you come back, to me "THE SWEETIES" were the best backup singers Patti ever had as a soloist. What are you woman doing now. Have you ladies thought about backing Beyonce or Jason Mraz? It would be "WONDERFUL"
"part 2" I fell in loooooooove with her (being gay as I might be lol:-) on the 13/14th of July 1985. OF COURSE: Live Aid!!! And ever since, I'm not sure that I've ever really-truly loved even a guy that much. And I've been around quite a bit haha:-). But really, in those days there was just LP/CD-stuff. Thanks to TH-cam (with sometimes all those magnificent pearls, like this one), I got so many unspeakable divine "gifts".... (-> sorry, haa; see "part 3")
Carla! I can hear you!! Though there is this small, little, tiny goddess just a little bit louder than you & the other background singers together lol:-). Thank you for being part of this MAGNIFICENT recording. Wish I had been there back then. LUV' Yah:-)!! I LOVE-LOVE-LOVE MISS PATTY!!!
I wish . . . She had sung THIS, in the traditional way. When I say it listed I had chills and do anyway. But, this song is "a part of my fiber" and to have her sing it straight would have been the ultimate coup !
My sweet Carla, thank you so much:-)! And I wanna share someting else with you... It might be hard to imagine to American people, but here in the Netherlands (I live in Amsterdam btw) I regret to say that Patti LaBelle is relatively quite unknown:-(. She hasn't got the so very-well-deserved SUPER-star status like in the States. I can't even begin to share my frustration about that with you..... Even my closest friends just don't seem to realise the impact she had on my life -> see "part 2")
But Sander, I remembr when we played Amsterdam and the crowds were AMAZING. we were sold out EVERY NIGHT! We LOVED Amsterdam! So, the ones who did know her did GOOD! :)
Hi Carla, I'm Patti (kitty2pat). Naturally, I saw yours and the other lady's conversation. Is that you who matches Patti "in the fire-ass high soprano echo"? Yes or No, if you were standing up with the one who did it, this is FIRE !!!!
Thank you. It is so like me although I've never kept my head tied constantly because up until now, I had long thick lush hair. It hurts me so badly. Anyway, go into Ovrstock into the "Art" section.. The artist is Heidi Lange. There are several, however, if God allows me "prosperity" not even to the degree of past times, but enough--this painting will hang above my head over my bed. Maybe, I'll look her up and see what she looks like but her art is bad-ass !!!!
I remember this night like it was yesterday. March 27, 1987. There was a blind brother name Fred in the audience, and Patti took off her shoes and gave them to Fred, then asked Fred to let her wear his shoes. And during the chorus of OH PEOPLE, she sang "This mascara's run in my eye." Classic Patti
I really enjoyed those days of historical RB with Pattie
Phil Collins said that Patti took his song to new heights!!! CHURCH!
She Patti'd the hell out of that song!!!" I'm scared of her!.....lol. GET IT, PATTI. SHE IS TOO MUCH FOR HER OWN SELF!
YES.......Ive noticed that ALL of Patt's background singers through out the years are POWERFUL singers themselves!
Child, they HAVE to be... listen to Mama Patti!! They are THE SUPPORT system for the show and the songs!! YES, LAWDY!! lol

The goddess of an ugly sound, yes
@@hinderless5811 get well soon

@@hinderless5811 and yet you are here? …. I agree Get Well soon! It must be exhausting to troll around.
