    This is really informative. Thanks, Alissa for taking the time to discuss all these for our reference. I'm quite curious though since you went there with J1 Visa together with your family, did you go back to PH after the 2-year contract altogether, because you mentioned that you have to go back to your country after your contract to share what you've learned from there - which is what the cultural exchange all about? Or is there a way to stay in the US while waiting for the next school year (which is about 2 months). I am not sure if you have mentioned this already in your other videos, because I have watched almost all your vid already (Lol). I hope you can also share something such as this, or if you'll need to apply to another school in another state after finishing a contract.

    I recently applied for the J1 Teacher Exchange Program, but unfortunately my resume got rejected and questioned my employment status if I am still employed or not. I came to the conclusion that in order to be approved we should still be employed.
    However, as you have said, even if we are no longer employed at least we have teaching experience for at least two years and it must be a classroom teacher. Correct?
    Nevertheless, do I still have a chance to be accepted? In my case, I resigned from my previous school serving a total of 8 years as a classroom teacher, just this January 2023.
    Your response is highly appreciated.

    • @AlissaLifestyleVlog
      @AlissaLifestyleVlog  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for this question. 😊
      Well, there are two kinds of agencies: Sponsoring and Recruitment Agencies.
      Direct hiring is applying and getting a job offer directly from the school. Since J1 visa cannot be given by an employer, you still need to have a sponsoring agency to process the J1 visa. Having a sponsoring agency is the only way to get a J1 visa. This is direct hiring because you are hired directly by the school. You contact the sponsoring agency after you are hired by the school. Sponsoring agency do not charge a lot of money. They have different rates but still they do not charge as much. These sponsoring agencies are designated by the US State Department to assist J1 teachers for the rest of their program and stay in the US.
      Now, let’s talk about recruitment agency which is very common nowadays. Since, it is a challenger for some to contact school directly and apply , they tend to go to recruitment agency to help them find a school that hires J1 teachers. Most recruitment agencies charge teachers lots of money. Some are charging almost half a million pesos! 😣
      This is not direct hiring since they are the one who will look for school in behalf of you.
      I hope my explanation is clear. If you have more questions, just comment down below.

Then, I have been working as Assistant Language Teacher po d2 sa Japan from 2020-present. But, I don’t have license po kasi I didn’t take LET po. However, my employer(school superintendent) in the US knew at the first place na I don’t have a license kasi I told him during the interview, but he still hired me. I only have a deed of sale of a vehicle and a life insurance. Is it enough?

    • @AlissaLifestyleVlog
      @AlissaLifestyleVlog  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Jason Angutas Sir if it is a J1 visa, you don’t need any ties. Just make sure you showed to them that you are aware of the two years home residency requirement which neans you know that you are going to the US to teach only and to go home after the program.
