Hi chillibeans777, The funny thing is that I am a symphonist, and not very fan of metal music either. But as such I cannot agree more with you, this music does not work in orchestral, and thought that a metal version was the way to make a tribute to it. Dear stonefacex, I redid the entire music from scratch. The only thing that is actually from the amiga is the voice at the beginning from the original game. Everything else is me.
Damn youtube, they ruined the quality on this version, It was way better when it was younger. I find that this version has mixing issues now that it's much older.
In an alternate universe the PC's as we know them today were crushed by the awesome power of Commadore International, the Amiga variants that replaced the C16, the C64 and ultimatley the 512+ the 4000 continued to rule the world. Halo never happened, Turrican - Finish The Fight was Evolved for the Amiga 360 upon its release. Jeoff Crammond went on to make Formula 1 Grand Tourismo which caused nerd achne detonations all over the world. Gabe Gates now rules the world.
99% of remakes seem to miss the point, adding or removing key points to the shape of a theme etc so that it's fairly insulting to the source. This one is very good though. I'm of the thought that if you have to copy music rather than write you're own then you're not worthy of any praise concerning the time you put into that project but there's definitely the odd exception
You can put your own spin on something that already exists, like a new remix of an old video game track, and I will respect you just as much as if you made something completely your own.
I'm glad you're able to see it like that. I don't share that same outlook because a majority of remixes do a bad job and it's essentially taking credit for something not theirs. It's fair enough if people want to do it but I find it hard to respect that generally speaking

Downloadable games on PS3 and 360 are just remakes but turned into some sort of 3D, they have to use 3D because it is impossible to remake something that is already perfect.
