Your dad must have been sad watching his years of labor and gardens being taken back by nature, age and energy and life changes can be heart breaking. How ironic that you unearthed the compost bin in your digging out, considering you’ve shoveled so much composted material off of those walkways 😂! This is just so cool seeing this garden come back to life, everything taking a deep breath and enjoying more sun. I so appreciate the effort you’ve put into this because I have large gardens that I maintain by myself. It can get away from you if life takes your focus to other things that demand your attention. We can’t wait either…I’ve always wanted to visit Northern California…I had a family member that went and saw the giant sequoia trees? I think they’re sequoia trees, please correct me if I’m wrong 😳 but I also would love to visit the national archives that are located somewhere out there as well ❤️ I’ve always thought of the area as beautiful and serene 😌
Yep your right about the trees, they are sequoia/ red wood trees. And I think that the archives might be in San Francisco 🤔 I'd have to check.
I am enjoying your channel and seeing the transformation on your dad's property. I would like to recommend two TH-cam channels I think you would enjoy and possibly learn from. Both are located in Australia. The first is Blademate lawn care. He started out with some push mowers and a string trimmer. Because his channel grew to a large audience he now helps people with mental and physical illness. The second channel is Quick cuts. This guy announced earlier in the year he was leaving TH-cam but due to the overwhelming requests he decided to stay. Both these guys are methodical in their work and the transformations are incredible.

Yes, we will be maintaining the yard for him from here on out and also will be doing a lot of gardening out there in the spring…we would like to put a dedication to his mother in first ❤️ she would have been SO HAPPY with this transformation! We made the plan to do this work last December 2022, then we lost Bret’s mom unexpectedly in March 2023, so we just hope she’s watching and proud! Thank you so much for commenting and for your support ❤️ I often marvel at the amount of concrete involved in those paths as well 💰 😅 they were built back in the 80’s according to our research

You guys have done a great job! I've binge watched all your videos and shorts. This was a huge undertaking. It's great to see family come together like this, I know your dad is filled with joy. Have yall thought about pressure washing the patio and walk ways? It would be messy, but well worth the time and energy after the job was done. It would make that concrete really POP against the woods. Just an idea. Again, great job! The place looks great!

Thank you for your support ❤️ we actually just cut down some thick brush and trees around the driveway, so we thought we’d get a chipper, mulch up the wood, and repurpose it as mulch around the front of the house as well as the areas on both sides of the stairs in the back yard…coming soon! 💚💚💚

Thank you for that 👍🏻 this is actually a project that my wife and I are doing to help my dad 👍🏻 we started planning for it last November, then we lost my mom unexpectedly in March and delayed starting until late in the season but we’re pushing through! sorry, wrong tools here, first. Take a fork ahead of you and map out the sidewalk now all of them you can at on time. Where is you steel blades edger or the steel flat head weed Walker cuts time in half.

We actually have a video coming out next that will have a section dedicated to how we address the poison Ivy situation 😬 Bret wears a mask, long sleeves, pants, gloves, and hat 🧢 as well as safety glasses any time he gets into areas with active live poison ivy in them…He’s extremely resistant to it and hasn’t had any issues with it at all…which even surprises me because it is EVERYWHERE…I have no idea how he stays out of it but so far we’ve been ok 👍🏻 thank you for your concern! I agree it’s awful stuff!
