My piano teacher has too small hands for this. She is super skilled and has played the piano for decades, but she can't play any song where your hands need to stretch over an octave or more on the keys. So it can also be a very simple physical restriction. I recommend practicing, but also adjusting the sheet music to your needs. And remember there are other awesome instruments out there too! No need to make life unnecessarily difficult, if your passion is more about the music and less about the piano :) (I don't want to discourage anyone! If the piano is your passion, then think of her as a good example of a great pianist with small hands)

For those of you scared of trying, ive memorized up until the last 2 bars of this piece. I only have 1 year of self taught experience, but I can proudly say i can play 95% of this piece! Just for that reason, I urge everyone to try it as well. Not as hard as you think it is. Reply for any tips.
@@paulak8106 Learn the sheet music, play it backwards measure by measure. This is how pianist with teachers learn. Myself included. It sounds strange, but starting from the end, and learning one measure at a time actually allows your brain to remember what you've played better. Amazing for memorization. Other than that, practice, practice, practice. You can't learn a trade without hundreds of thousands of hours. So just keep going. Eventually you'll make heavy progress, then slow down, then something will click and you'll progress again. It's an incredibly satisfying feeling.

I've been playing this for a week or so now and I can play up until around 3:05 pretty smoothly. This is definitely one of the best arrangements of this piece that I've seen. Edit: I can now play the piece fully and am just working on my memorisation, however some bits are still a bit hard to play.
After learning this song for about a year and a half I am able to play through to the end. I have 3 pages memorized, and the other 4 pages I know how to play them but I need the sheet music. It takes a lot of time and effort to learn this song but in the end it is/will be worth it.

That day is getting closer so I just have 1 and a half month to complete it. Good news is I’m already 1:54 of the song and pretty fluently, just some more practice and minor issues (05-26-23) BIG BIG UPDATE!! Today ( 2nd July) is the day I’m going to finally record it so I can give my gf a usb with all the progress videos I’ve made throughout the journey and the mp3 song, I’m REALLY NERVOUS about it because the 4th I’m going to present it to her, I only hope that I don’t mess up and that she likes it!! (07-02-23) Damn I almost forgot. It’s been almost a month when I presented it to her!! (07/04/23) She liked it, A LOT. It meant a lot to her that I tried and tried lots of times to learn this piece while having school and other stuff to attend, she will always have a very special place in my heart and in fact she has my heart 😭. She was a little bit suspicious about it, but that wasn’t a problem when she heard it the first time, she cried of happiness and hugged me when I finished it. My sister helped me to record us and I will have that precious moment in my heart. Finally I gave her a usb with ALL my progress videos and other stuff from the song, she said it has been the best gift someone has given to her, also because the next day was her birthday and our 6th month anniversary!! When I was in the mental hospital there was another patient who knew how to play this and other songs on the piano. Whenever we went for a meal he would play this on the piano in the cafeteria. I was not in the best place mentally but this song still brings me back to a simpler time when I didn’t have as many worries.

I am an adult practicing this song for my recital which is in 3 weeks. This song is very difficult for small hand people and it is extremely long, 7 pages! I managed to master this piece after practicing all summer. Luckily I play the piano since my childhood and learning this piece was not the biggest challenge of my life. However, this version is a bit more elaborate, so for beginners I recommend looking for a simpler version where you focus more on the main notes

So far I’ve made it to 0:20 in, I’m practicing throughout the day maybe about 2 hours a day is my average. This seems like a lot only to end up learning 20 seconds but I was self taught and only now have I started playing again. Figuring out the tempo is a bit hard but I’m getting it!

If you’re an in experienced piano player trying to play this I’d suggest looking up some videos of easy practices where the right hand and left hand are playing something different. You need to get good at that and then these pieces will be a lot easier
Started practicing this a few days ago and was able to get the intro pretty easily, but it's taken me days to get just the first half of the second page down to a decent level. The hours are worth it though for the beauty of the song. It might take another month to get it down but it will be worth it when I can play the whole thing.

I’d recommend going for a sheet music than this, I know it’s much harder at first but it’ll definitely be worth it after this.

When I was in the mental hospital there was another patient who knew how to play this and other songs on the piano. Whenever we went for a meal he would play this on the piano in the cafeteria. I was not in the best place mentally but this song still brings me back to a simpler time when I didn’t have as many worries.

I am an adult practicing this song for my recital which is in 3 weeks. This song is very difficult for small hand people and it is extremely long, 7 pages! O have been playing piano since I was 4 years old now I’m 15 but hey this is still has his difficult parts but I mean I fell everyone that propose it can try it it’s really just dedication :)
I managed to master this piece after practicing all summer. Luckily I play the piano since my childhood and learning this piece was not the biggest challenge of my life. However, this version is a bit more elaborate, so for beginners I recommend looking for a simpler version where you focus more on the main notes

I'm certainly not the best at playing piano, but I'm loving the process of learning this piece. I found the musescore sheet music once but I am still having trouble reading sheet music. Then I stumbled upon this video, which is, I believe, almost identical to the sheet music I found. It's a hard piece, but I'm loving it! I can play until 1:21 pretty smoothly now, but I'm strifing to let this piece be the first piece I can in its entirety

So far I’ve made it to 0:20 in, I’m practicing throughout the day maybe about 2 hours a day is my average. This seems like a lot only to end up learning 20 seconds but I was self taught and only now have I started playing again. Figuring out the tempo is a bit hard but I’m getting it!

Even though this piece isn’t the easiest I decided it would be the first piano song I attempt to learn, and after I would say 4-8 Hours I’ve learnt half of it. Not doing too bad

If you’re an in experienced piano player trying to play this I’d suggest looking up some videos of easy practices where the right hand and left hand are playing something different. You need to get good at that and then these pieces will be a lot easier

Started practicing this a few days ago and was able to get the intro pretty easily, but it's taken me days to get just the first half of the second page down to a decent level. The hours are worth it though for the beauty of the song. It might take another month to get it down but it will be worth it when I can play the whole thing.
