    A.M.A.Z.I.N.G. results. Thank you for sharing your tips. Never thought of using pipe fittings.

      Glad it was helpful! The pipe fittings worked great for this one especially when you seal the bottom of the fitting with a melted solid oil - keeps any soap batter from leaking - and make it's easy to remove after pouring.

      I just looked myself - and I saw a Michael's ad?! That's so strange but. you are correct, you need 1000 subscribers for ad placement.

    In what time do you unmold with this fluid trace? Do you get a hard bar after cure. Beautiful soap.

    • @avantsoapstudio6654
      @avantsoapstudio6654  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      For this design the batter was much more fluid than usual when I poured into the mold. I wasn't quite sure how it would turn out (but was very. happy with the results!). I waited 24 hours - it was still slightly soft but manageable to handle. Waiting another 12-24 hours would have helped.

      Hey thanks! Believe it or not I bought it off Amazon and it works really well. I've bought more expensive ones on Etsy and those haven't worked as well as this one. Here's the link www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07NVF6BL6/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

    These are gorgeous! What did you use for the pipe dividers?

    • @avantsoapstudio6654
      @avantsoapstudio6654  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Dayna! I used PVC pipe couplers from Home Depot. For this size mold, I used ones that were 1 3/4" in diameter. To make sure you don't have any leaks I would recommend dipping them in melter cocoa butter and then placing them in the mold, then refrigerate so that the butter hardens and forms a nice seal. Once you pour the batter in the pipe divider they are very easy to remove. Hope this helps!

    very inspiring. How do you keep your batter that fluid? I always have problems with that.

    • @avantsoapstudio6654
      @avantsoapstudio6654  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you! The soap recipe I used for this design was Coconut 30%, Grapeseed 25%, Lard 25%, Shea Butter 12%, Almond Oil 8% - Lye Conc. 34.8% with a very well behaved FO. Blend only to emulsion, trace will take about 15 minutes so you should have plenty of time for the batter to remain fluid. The more fluid at the time of the swirl the more crisp and clean the lines of the design will be. Keep an eye on your % of solid oils - that will also speed up trace. Hope that helps!

    Your soaps are so inspiring that I ran right out the same day I saw this video posted and purchased PVC pipe 😂 I see in your links that you shared acrylic sheets, so I assumed your mold is handmade. I would like to make one, but I was curious what size you have used here?

    • @avantsoapstudio6654
      @avantsoapstudio6654  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Debra! Thanks for watching and glad my video helped! The acrylic mold I used for this design was purchased from Michael's Crafts (it did leak slightly). The acrylic sheets I listed in the comment section I used for mixing the colorants and oil. I also use Lexan sheets the I cut for my custom mold dividers (which I use for the Butterfly and Dragonfly Swirl techniques).
