The party nightmare challenge is: 4 giant toads being ridden by 4 scarecrows accompanied by 4 spector possessed animated armors. Good luck not dying. 😂😊
Didn't expect to get so invested in this, and ending up chanting specter whenever they enter the arena, ready to mop the floor with their opponent. Can't wait to see the specter return as a wraith in the CR 5 tournament.
At 14 Int, I would assume the Copper Dragon Wyrmling would be smart enough to just stay at range or fly while waiting for it's breath attacks since it's pretty obvious the animated armor has no ranged attacks. It'll soon realize the Animated Amor is immune to the acid breath and have to make bite attacks to win, but use slowing breath each time prior to coming down and attempting to hit it and flying back up since the armor would not be able to take a reaction. It would be a long drawn out fight, but definitely in the Wyrmling's favor.
The armor isn't immune to acid, so with minimal strategy, this is a no contest win for the dragon. The creator has heavily nerfed any creature with a fly speed by not letting them use it. Even having the dragon bite attack and retreat each round would halve the attacks it took (1 AoE vs multiattack)
27/32 points! Wasnt expecting the Duergar to get 1 tapped, also thought the Maw Demon would perform better against the scarecrow and the Wrymling would perform better against the Animated Armor. That ending was insane, but the Specter made the epic comeback
Very cool as always, but just a couple of notes: The Choker cannot use the tentacle ON ANOTHER TARGET. So they can still keep choking the same creature with the first tentacle. Also, it has a kind of action surge ability 1/short rest. If you used it correctly, it would have destroyed the toad. Still, choker vs specter had no chance (immune to grapple + resistant to damage), so it doesn't really matter lol
We’ve had a lot of discourse on the another target thing, and it seems to me to be still a bit confusing… but the choker was waiting to use their action surge for a knock out blow!!
@@BrandonRKim why is it confusing? The same creature is the same target... And also it wouldn't be much of a choker if after grabbing you it stopped squeezing :(
@@BrandonRKim Sorry, there is no discourse. That's how the rule works for any grappling creature. If they're grappled by the limb or the claw or the bite, the creature can continue to hurt them with that limb. A CHOKER doesn't let go of it's victims neck to try and attack them again, it squeezes their neck harder. A CROCODILE holds onto it's prey with crushing force and tries to tear them apart. Basic sense is all you need here.
Awesome, I’ve been hyped for this video! Definitely gonna watch it with a couple friends and bet on the winners. I’m Giant Toad gang all the way. Hope he makes it to the end.
30 points on the bracket, almost a clean sweep/perfect score for me, only one I missed was the animated armor vs the copper wyrmling, copper wyrmling got hosed by the dice, should have been a win for him.
Cool videos and entertaining but kinda big shame how the monsters are just run as sacks of hp, ac and attacks. No other features are being used. No tactics or strategy only base attacks. Examples: Gazer flight wasn't used against an enemy without ranged abilities, kobold sorcerer didn't levitate out of reach and pelt with bolts, dragon didn't use flight and breaths to dominate, climbing and environmental tricks and other such features have not been used. The high damage and high durability monsters have too much of an advantage here. Adding more complicated strategies would of course make things more interesting but slso hard/longer/more complicated to run. Have fun eith the series 👍
I’m sorry for being a stickler to the rules but I know them well and it irks me when I see someone get them wrong. I’ve got two things: 1: the crocodile & choker could still make attacks against those they had grappled with the appendage they used to grapple the opponent with. Their weapon profiles only say that they can’t use the same appendage to attack a *different* target. 2: when a creature is paralyzed they are also incapacitated, which means that successfull hits from attacks within 5ft of them are automatically critical, the giant frog should’ve taken 8d4+2 damage when the scarecrow hit it while it was paralyzed. There, the first point is the one I’ve been noticing before this video too. Love the content though, this is a great idea for a video and a series.
These are fun! Do you have any thoughts about random (rolled) terrain influence for each battle in the form of a re-roll inspiration? For example, "cliff side" terrain could give inspo to all creatures with flying speed, "underdark cave" could give the inspo to all creatures with darkvision, "dark forest" to all creatures with a stealth skill or invisibility, "urban streets" could give inspo to shapechangers and charmers, etc etc. This could give potential extra chances for creatures that have their power distributed to more "utility" features. Obviously this would complicate the format a tad, but I'm curious to hear your thoughts about it! :)
Also, at 30:33 why Frighted and Paralyzed conditions in Giant Toad automatically removed Grappled and Restrained conditions from Scarecrow? To get rid of Grappled and Restrained conditions one should spend its turn and make a roll to escape, shouldn't it? Nothing in a description of Frighted or Paralyzed conditions says that...
Nilbog should have been seeded opposite the armor. It faced it's hard counter round 1. If the armor had been taken out of the bracket by someone else the nilbog had a real chance of winning.
nilbog should win. nilbog have 30 feet movement and disengage as a bonus action while animated armor can only dash to catch up. Nilbog would just hit and run right?
Damn... I was rooting for specter, after round one I predicted that specter and scarecrow will be in finals, and it will be a close call.... I need to stop watching these lol
Interesting. I remember once seeing an online tool where you could simulate D&D combat between 2 groups. I'm sure running each battle at least 10 times would be a better way of doing it so one side doesn't just win by lucky rolls. 🤔
2 nat 20s on disadvantage is actually insane, what a rollercoaster finish
Man, the nilbog got *robbed* due to that matchup, it would've gotten way further if it wasn't up against something immune to most of it's bullshit xD
i cried
It would have auto-won its second match as both the Half-ogre and the dragon can only attack once per turn.
It was a lot more dangerous than I thought
also, nilbog could just run. disengage as a ba while having 5 feet more speed allows it to kite the animated armor
Nilbog was also using reversal of fortune before damage rolls. No point in doing that.
The party nightmare challenge is: 4 giant toads being ridden by 4 scarecrows accompanied by 4 spector possessed animated armors. Good luck not dying. 😂😊
Omg what level would a 4 player party need to be to win in that fight?!?
15-20
Just goes to show that you really don't need high CR monster to make it hard for a party.
I would guess level 7. 5 levels for a fireball and the rest to not instantly die.
@@BrandonRKim one level 5 wizard.
specter casually getting as meny nat 20s as fights
Can’t wait for Cr 30 tournament where a tarrasque fights Tiamat
Lots of breath attacks from a distance and my (hypothetical money is on tiamat.
Pretty sure is an automatic Tiamat Win, literally immune to all tarrasque attacks xD

YES!!! I hope you weren’t in a public place!!! Team ghost!
Just finished the copper dragon vs animated armor fight, been rooting for the animated armor so hope to see them win
11:18 The CHOKER had such a huge lead! Who could have predicted it would throw away the lead in a single turn?!?? Oh wait...

This isn't fair, clearly the specter has plot armor

LOVE this; EXPECTING THE NEXT CR RUN!
Wooooo!!!! You can watch them on insta TikTok or TH-cam shorts as they come out!!!
I really want to see CR 24 so that we can get the Warforged Colossus in there.
Heheh one day!!!
The scarecrow is even more powerful, says frightened is also paralyzed, so no lion attacks.
Only if it used the terrifying look, it's normal attacks do normal fear without the paralysis
It's surreal to think that True Dragons start as early as CR 1. I was sure one of the Wyrmlings was 5, but nope. Highest is the Red at 4.
Yeah!! It’s nice that we get some Wyrmling options at low CRs tho!
