I know this is kinda off-topic, but I had to tell someone, haha. My boyfriend didn’t have a birthday or anything, but I read somewhere that most guys only get flowers at their funeral... so I was like, nah, that’s not happening to mine! I got him this lego-style flower bouquet. Honestly, I didn’t think he’d care, but he was SO into it! We spent a night building it together, and it was such a vibe. I feel like I’m advertising for them, lol, but I’m just really happy with it, and so is he!
that is sooo cute!! I also just searched for it and got my bf one. Can't wait to see his reaction. In case someone is wondering just look for ´his first flower bouquet´, got it from there
That’s so sweet! Happy belated birthday to him!
PLEASE make a 24hr readathon reading just thriller books! i love love love ur content queen ❤️✨️
Absolutely!
Stephen King has to be the only author that can write an entire novel that takes place just in one location, one ROOM, and he still keeps you at the edge of your seat the whole way through
Literally!
Stephen King is my favourite author! I have about 50 of his books, theres something so special about his story telling and the characters! 🥰
His pedo things ruined it for me decade ago when I read IT - you just don’t add something like that to a book and it has no relevance to the story and makes no sense unless the author is into that 🤮
Wow 50! Ive seen a few movies. Can u mention a few of ur favs? I wanna start reading some of his work too
@@CherryLelyPRone of mine is Billy summers
@Aureliz it's taken years to collect, I buy cheap from ebay or free libraries.. so hard to choose but I loved pet sematary, Insomnia and the series starring with Mr Mercedes!
@@AveragePJOstan Ill look it up!
Absolutely need a Stephen King readathon!
omg you're right!
@@khalilahd. I'M SCREAMING YOU REPLIED TO ME HI I LOVE YOU 😭♥️
I’m trying to be a Stephen King completist. What you felt while reading “Misery” is what I call The Stephen King Effect. He has the uncanny ability to write in a way that makes you feel as though you’re going through what the main character is experiencing. He makes you think through “What if this was me?”
The Stephen King effect!! I love this!!! Hands down, my favorite author. His profound and complex portrayal of his characters make you feel as if you are there. Some of them will stay with you for a lifetime. Leland Gaunt has stayed with me for 25 years....I've never watched the movie, I generally dont watch them knowing i will be disappointed
Stephen King book is one of my absolute favorite authors. Currently on a quest of re-reading all of his books in chronological order and enjoying every moment!
I JUST FINISHED MY FIRST STEPHEN KING BOOK! It was Billy Summers and I don’t even know what to think.
Thank you for highlighting Stephen King’s books/works. He’s my absolute favorite Horror/Suspense Author. I am 55 years old and have been watching his books become movies since I was a young girl. Carrie was his first movie. I watched it when I was 8 or 9 years old. ♥️📚♥️📚
Same! I'm 53 and I feel like some of lesser known books are the best. Rose Madder is one of my favorites!
BEEN WAITING FOR THIS DROP!!!! Love Mr. King and all of his work. Misery is a trip and I am so glad you make a reading vlog about it. Welcome to the Stephen King cult!
Your reactions reading this book lol Yes, you should definitely watch the movie. Kathy Bates absolutely kills it as Annie!
Yeeeeees welcome to the club
The only Stephen King book ive attempted reading was IT and i couldnt continue
I was spooked😂
Now that I'm older, i think im ready to give him another shot
STARTING with IT is insane 😭 and after reading this one I'm not sure if I could do something like that lol. Definitely try one of his shorter books
I'll do that x
I read it last year it was good my first king read was full dark no stars a short story collection
Stephen King is my absolute favorite author! Youll have to read the Mr Mercedes trilogy. Ive never read a series faster! lol I would have to say that Carrie is one of my top 3 books by him!
Did you check out the tv adaptation of mr Mercedes
@@KiaraKuhn I loved the Mr Mercedes ones too! The Outsider and Holly follow on if you haven't read those :)
@@angelaholmes8888 No, I havent. Is it good?
@@alexlaurajo I totally forgot about Outsider! That was good too! I have yet to read Holly but it is on my list to read by the end of this year :)
@@KiaraKuhn it's really good the show lasted three seasons
Liked mid-ad before the video even started lmao I knew this was gonna be a good one
😭🫶
I've read a lot of Stephen King novels, but this is one of the most terrifying. The fact that he was able to induce this kind of terror writing about a man bedridden and with just one location and two characters, really shows that he's the king (pun intended) of horror. And you just gained a follower, btw. Love your video ❤
I finally picked up Stephen King books a few years ago and became a fan instantly. Misery was definitely a wild ride but Mr. Mercedes has continued to be one of my favorites of his so far. I've only read 8 of his books and have a few more on my list. He is a classic writer and a go-to for a great read.
I don’t know if I didn’t scroll far enough in the comments, but just to clarify: Carrie was Stephen King’s first book (and is FANTASTIC). Jerusalem’s Lot was a short story which was published in a short story collection!
Stephen King is such an interesting author because his writing spans so many different genres. He has some huge novels (see IT and The Stand, both of which are fantastic) and many short story collections.
One book I always recommend to people who want to try to read Stephen King but aren’t as interested in horror/paranormal/thriller genres is 11/22/63 - it’s more of a science fiction novel because the story is about time travel and its consequences.
Misery was an early read of mine when I was a young teenager and it still sticks with me ~20 years on. It’s so good!
I agree, but my favorite is Bag of Bones. I read that book in 24 hours
The green mile is a good non horror book too.
I read misery this year and couldnt put my thoughts into words but your comments are so spot on!!!
also i watched the movie a few days later and felt kinda disappointed... You dont have to worry in my opinion 😅 I feel like the movie was veeeery easy to go through and lacked the agony i was kind of waiting and ready for...
Can you please please please read a on thriller book everyday for a week???? Please?
I've read 2 stephen king books and misery was one of them. Seeing your reaction was priceless, it's one of my favourite books
The movie is amazing… top 10 of the movies I watched with my older brothers growing up. The book sounds more scary lol
The movie is not as gory as the book. Kathy Bates (Annie) is sooo good in the movie. Don’t worry about Salem’s Lot being over 600 pages - you’ll fly through it! 🧛🏼♂️
YES!👏
I’m so happy you gave Stephen King a try! He’s my favorite author. Misery and the Bill Hodges trilogy are my favorites by him. I haven’t really been a horror mood lately so I haven’t read any Stephen King for a hot minute. Great video!
Not sure if you’ll see this, but I just wanted to say that I moved into my room away from home for my first year at college, and I’m really nervous about starting this new chapter in my life. Seeing your video pop up brightened my day and made me feel a lot better. Thank you :) 🩵
It's natural to be scared with such a big change like this but I hope you also use this time to create new friendships and to find yourself. Your college years have the potential to some of the most important years of your life and I wish you nothing but joy and success. You've got this!
@@khalilahd. Thank you so much!! :,) I’m also a science girlie btw. I’m studying marine science :)
My favorite is The Shining, not the movie THE BOOK, so good so scary. LOVED IT.
Absolutely agree
❤ Stephen King I use to read him a lot in my 20’s and the movie was excellent👍🏽
I just finished my first Stephen king books, Salem’s lot and Pet Sematary. They were so good! And I’ve been wanting to talk about them with someone so this vlog is perfect 😍
That's awesome! I can’t wait to read salems lot!
Huge fan here! I will absolutely talk about his books
I have never read Stephen King, but you are making me want to!
Oh please do the first book I read was full dark no stars if you're into fantasy check out fairytale or eyes of the dragon
The Shinning
I love Stephen King! I’m so glad you enjoyed reading. When recommending him to friends I always talk about how he can spend 3/4 of a book building a world with such intricate detail, you get to know all of these characters and relationships inside out which makes it all the more satisfying when it finally falls apart…
Exactly! It was a crazy ride 😭
This is exciting! The only Stephen King i have read was the green mile and I loved it. I've never read any of his horror though. I really need to.
The 24 hour spooky vlog sounds awesome! It would be super cool if you read only Stephen King! I think you'd really like The Shining, or maybe grab Night Shift , which is a short story collection that I love.
I feel like a thriller readathon is the best time to do a 24hr one. Your sleep deprivation and delirium will make it scarier.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE MAKE A READ-A-THON 🙏🙏
I think you need to read about 15 of his books!!! Hes my all time favorite!!!
OMG you read misery. I've read 2 Stephen King books and one of them was misery. It shook me as well also your reaction was priceless!
I just read this book!! It was also my first Stephen King. It was so good! My copy was an original print from 1987 (not a first ed, I don't think. This book sold so many copies, it was the number 1 book that year). And hearing you read parts makes me wonder if your version has been updated at all....
Omg! Love this! Can you read all of the Sherlock Holmes books?
I just saw misery for the first time a few months ago and now you just reminded me that I wanted to read the book, the movie was so good! Definitely gonna add this to my fall tbr
I still need to watch the movie!
I’ve read Carrie, Bag of Bones, The Shining, Fairytale, Salems Lot, and started IT. I’m halfway through. I feel like I’m missing one lol.
Edit: Oh! I started Misery too.
Read The Shining. It has a wholesome, strong, heroic black character in it. He’s one of my fave Stephen King characters.
I really appreciate the review. After watching the movie, I'm really interested in reading the book.
The book is so much better
The “guh dam” in the background took me out 😂😂😂
Have you ever considered making a “read with me” live/streaming? It would be awesome being with you - even if we couldn’t talk, seeing your “in real time” reactions would be AMAAA-ZING! (Please, consider that!)
This is such a good idea. I hope she sees this.
I am a huge Stephen King fan! For spooky season I would choose Salem’s Lot. It will blow your mind. I am going to reread it in October
misery was one of the first King's books I read and it was WILD, so so good, I also really love carrie and the stand
Yay 24 hour readathon. But if the books are to scarry you will never sleep again. Lol
lol omg I know 😫
Absolutely do another 24 hour read a thon!!!
I have never read a Stephan king book but I want to read one at some point,, I used to hate reading so much growing up because I struggled to read but over the last 5-6 months I have really been enjoying reading a lot more.
I’d love to watch a salems lot vlog soon!!
You have to watch the first movie then watch the new one when ever it comes out thank you "K" I've gotta get the book
Im just getting ready to start Fairy Tales. There is no author like Mr King. He is otherworldly. Dont forget to read some of his books under his pen name, Robert Bachman. A little off topic, but, Bath and Body works has a candle called "Book Loft" and it smells like a library 😍 think they will be on sale this weekend for $13.95
Love these reading vlogs!! ❤❤ Let's go spooky content!! I just have to skip every time there's spoilers😢
Salems lot is soooooo good girl!!!!
Salem’s Lot because Max will release the 2024 film remix on October 3.
now I need to read it!
@@khalilahd. I must warn you that Salem’s Lot is one of the top three eeriest books I’ve ever read. It had me shook for quite some time. It took a minute to get that book out of my system.
Really? Definitely will be looking out for that
OMG I did not know the movie Misery was based off a Stephen King novel. That movie is so good, you have to watch it. I haven’t read any of Stephen King’s books but I will after this vlog
@@aarib7608 you might want to try reading kings short story collections I read full dark no stars I did enjoy it been reading his books for years
I remember VIVIDLY reading my first horror novel and it’s honestly such a distinctly different experience to all other genres I read. Like I was SO scared and nothing bad was happening per se but it was eerie and chilling at the same time. I’ve always wanted to read all of Stephen Kings novels but feel so intimidated by them
Stephen King is one of my favorite authors!! You should read Pet Sematary! I still think about that book all the time and it has been years since I've read it.
Hey Friend, Happy Sunday. When I read my first Stephen king book, I fell in love with the book and that’s all I wanted to read. I’m not a fan of horror but I love the act of suspense and his cliffhangers were amazing. 😅 I would love a spooky Stephen king 24 hour reading vlog for Halloween and seeing how many books of his you could read during it. 😊
The way you’re describing this book makes me want to get it…
Idk if I want to read books by him honestly I'm just freaked😂
I’ve also been putting stephen king books off for a while😅 you’ve inspired me to pick one up though!
I just started Salem's lot and its so good!!!
I’m sending you love and all the cozy and great fall vibes❤
thanks hun, you too! 💜
@@khalilahd. anytime love🫶🫶🫶
you have to read the Green Mile. So good!
love it so much
love it
KHALILAHHH I went to Barnes yesterday and you influenced me to read Misery and this will be my very first novel to read by Stephen King!! 😆
Yayyy my favourite youtuber posted :>

Hi bestie great video as per usual. I was watching diligently, but felt that it was getting too close to spoiler territory so I skipped forward to the end. Looking forward to coming back to watch the whole thing when I read the book in October. :)
Wha-? i recently flip a coin too when I can't decide which books I want to read first!🙈❤️
haha great minds think alike!
@@khalilahd. wow..🙊💓️🌟
This is my fav book and movie. I say give the movie a try, not as scary but still great. Love your channel.
My first Stephen king was Misery too! It was good! But now I feel like I listen more than physically read his stuff, because they are so long and I have stuff to do 😅. Like sir lighten up on the tangents.
thanks
Make a cozy fall 24 hour reading volg!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Found your channel from the Harry Potter videos because I was reading it for the first time, and now again with stephen king 🤣🤣
The first book I read by Stephen King was IT and I thought it would be long forever 😅
Even this blog was scary, Khalilah! Horror is not my genre, but it was fun to watch you read it 😊 And I do think it’s important to also highlight problematic and racist aspects woven into a story. I’m sorry you had to read that. Authors can and should do better! (I know - “at the time the book was written it wasn’t talked about that much blah blah”. That’s not an excuse not to educate yourself about basic humanity.)
I haven’t read Stephen king, but I’d love to check our Cujo. I watched the movie awhile ago when I was a kid
You were colour coordinated with your couch!
I've not read Stephen King myself
I have only read salems lot and now I want to read misery but will need to find a perfect time because it seams dark.
They have to make a remake of this book and cast love and joe.
Yeah I wanna read Misery because I was told it’s not that bad reading it but I be scared. You definitely should watch the movie because Lordt!!!!!!
great video
Thanks!
You know, I think I'm an outlier, here. I'm not a Stephen King fan at all. I read "Misery" a few years ago and I was quite frankly pretty bored when I read it. But I wasn't really much of reader then so I decided to give him another shot last year and I read "Carrie" by him and HATED it. It's literally one of my most hated books. I didn't have a good time at all.
Khalilah please read and review the Six of crows duology❤❤
I've been wanting to pick up Stephen King's novel but get intimidated by the number of pages. Since I'm a newbie to reading I'm confused with choosing an easy, interesting and yet a great read of his.
Your video is so convincing. Please recommend me some right books of his but the exceptions are romance/extreme v*olence. I don't consume romance/spice or extreme vi*lence through any medium.
Thank You! Loved your video. Love and regards from India 🤍💐🙏🏽
Now i want to read Misery. lol im shaking typing this but ... lets add a stephen king book for book club 💓😓😵💫😬 lmao
p.s. wait...idk im terrified. lolol the quotes and your sound effects!!! GIRL. im shaking
I've read 3 Stephen King books so far. Pet Sematary was SO good, I would defiantly recommend it. It's one of those situations where the book is better than the movie. I wasn't as crazy about Misery, it dragged a bit for me. The movie was superior to the book in this case. Most recently I read Holly which was horrible IMO. Avoid at all costs. I'm going to try to read Salem's Lot in October for spooky season. 🙂
So brave. I would never 😂.
I started TH-cam channel just 8 days ago and I achieved just 91 subscribers yet I pray you all achieve your goals . And Dreams 🎉❤🎉🎉
J'ai acheté un livre de Stephen King c'est shinig
I really enjoyed misery the book and the movie kathy bates deserved that oscar she also starred in another king adaptation Dolores Claiborne when it comes to kings endings it's either a hit or miss for some people
Dolores Claiborne was so good!
@@ShefortheJeeps yes I really enjoyed both the book and movie it's so underrated
Not our girl Khalilah thinking that Salem's lot is beautiful vampire romance like the Twillight. What a rookie mistake 😂😂
Don't worry sis I have made the same rookie mistake as you 😂
You all need to know that King is not really romance type of guy so there is nothing pretty in his books, mostly terror and fear, but somehow he still gets under your skin
I called it Stephen King effect. He is the only one that can make terror and fear feel beautiful and pieceful somehow 😂 or it's just my mind that's sick 😂
Read Bag of Bones… it’s his way of writing a romance
(off topic sorry ajdhkajfh) have you started somewhere beyond the sea yet? i literally just started it like 30 mins ago and i am already a hot mess i forgot how much i love this universe!! so curious to hear your thoughts!
Pet sematary is his best ever
Girlll you look around like someone is standing there
i HATED in the tall grass with his son, the writing was AWFUL and felt very incestious as well as very out of touch when it comes to the conversations between “young adults” as if they’ve never heard a conversation in their life so that put me off of stephen king so maybe i will give one of his solo books a shot
First
You made me immediately go buy Misery 😂🫣
