  • Showing ways of connecting Android Tablet (Panasonic Toughpad FZ-B2) with Motorola Mototrbo radios ( BT / USB ) for TCP/IP transmission (in my case sending ping) - TCP/IP allow route for any traffic for example sending email / chatting / SSH via commercial two way radio. Latency can be turn down by disabling data confirmation at radio level and using UDP packets and smaller MTU.

Hopefully you are still checking your replies. Have you updated your Toughbook os? Mine is android 4.4 and I can’t figure out how to update it. I have also tried to root it but I can’t get that to work either. Any help would be appreciated.

Sorry, I don't - I used it as it was - never updated firmware myself. In general this is what I hate about non apple devices - terrible lack of software updates... What exactly are You trying to do with it? Maybe it's easier to find older APK that is compatible with Your version. Couple times I went that route with Zello on those cheap chines network radios - they did not supported latest so I grab older apk and it work like charm.

do you think it would be possible to make a cable that routs out the usb and ptt cable? I see many free pins on each of the connectors and none seem to overlap. I just want to connect my phone and headset at the same time to the DP2400 so I dont have to use bluetooth for the phone

This is very good question - I won't give You straight answer because I never done it - but I expect it is possible since this is what You do while ALIGNING your radio - You use Motorola Test Box and You are tied to computer, on test box you have PTT, audio input & output. Try search for "Motorola PMKN4117(PMKN4117B) Programming & Service Cable" it might be Your answer or at least correct direction.
