Thanks a lot for your review. I stumbled just recently over FSD and love it. It’s not Epic for sure, but nevertheless fun, even more. It’s easy to learn and hard to master - of course you need a bit of luck, but to know that you can’t activate all units with the dice and use all of their weapons per turn is really making you think and plan in advance.

Sounds like you got the system just right! Wonderful to hear that! FSD is definitely one of my favourites :)

I have seen the models and they are great. But this game isn't replacing epic for me. I don't like the die allocation system. I don't like not knowing what I can do with a unit when I activate it. If I have 1 tank I want to be able to shoot the main gun every turn, not have to roll a six just to use a weapon.
Component damage is too fiddly at 6mm. Imaging running a 6mm tank platoon and tracking barrel damage on 8 tanks.
I think the hit vs. save system is wildly random and unpredictable compared to epic.
Also the movement units dont make sense to me. So a 28mm model (4x) would move 12" and shoot 24". Seems like you would need a huge table to play a combat patrol.

Sure I understand that it's not everyone's cup of tea! Just keep in mind that when comparing to Epic you are comparing two different level games. Epic is more of an army level game with a suitable abstraction level for that type of gameplay. FSD is more of a skirmish level game :) They use models of the same scale but run in different organization levels hence some differences in unit "depth" :). A more "fair" comparison would probably be FSD and Horizon Wars ?

@@6mmwargames I see. I think I like the mass combat feel of epic and Dropzone for 6mm. If I'm playing a small skirmish game I like to play with larger scale models like 28mm.

Perfectly understandable! I always look for new interesting ways to use things I already have (and make more!) and this was one such thing (which I also enjoyed quite a lot!).
