I don’t get the hate Andrew Lincoln’s character gets. You
Can’t control who you have feelings for. However, he completely shuts it down - goes out of his way to have as little to do with her as possible. Then, against his wishes, she pesters him for the wedding video and discovers his feelings.
He knows this is a nowhere road but that given this is the wife of his best friend, he can’t simply cut them out of his life entirely. So he decides to confront the situation,
explain his predicament to her and then walks away - resolved to try and forget about her completely. She runs and catches up to him and kisses him - which he didn’t plan on nor did he initiate it. He can’t be blamed for that kiss and yet still he walks away again, firm that he must move on.
Unless you believe he could stop himself from ever having feelings for he in the first place or that if such feelings occurred, he should’ve immediately cut her (and therefore his best friend) out of his life completely…I don’t get what he could’ve done to behave more honourably…

I agree with most of your post, but that wedding video was super creepy. Is he just going to sit at home alone watching it? 😬 That is not honorable in the slightest. And the grand gesture with cards were completely unnecessary, but it's a movie and it was very cinematic.
Note, this is coming from somebody who's happily married to my ex boyfriends good friend. FYI, nothing even remotely romantic happened until months after we broke up, even though my husband has said he had feelings for me for a long time.
@@theshadowfax239 the video is a bit creepy, I’ll admit. However, I’d argue it’s no more creepy than sitting on Facebook endlessly scrolling photos of an unrequited love - which I’d imagine is something that many people do.
The cards thing wasn’t unnecessary however. He obviously needed to explain himself to her. The method by which he did it was melodramatic - but it’s a movie.
However, the content of the cards absolutely had to be said - he couldn’t just leave it hanging with her having seen his creepy wedding video and him walking out.

Right. And it wasn't a romantic kiss either. It was IMO just her acknowledging his feelings and basically saying that she was flattered but unavailable.
Funny how all this negative attention towards Lincoln's character and not a peep about Jamie's brother or his wife.
If you still are confused about the soft porno scene.
From the dialogue it sounds like they were stand-ins for the real actors in a love scene for a normal movie, making sure that the lighting and camera angles were correct so the actual actors didnt have to be naked for longer than necessary. 😅
Love you guys as a duo, went looking for more content and looks like this is the one of the only ones. You guys have a great natural vibe and back-and-forth that I think a lot of reaction channels don't have (and I consume a lot!). I'd love to see more movie reactions!
I agree... this just kinda popped up for me as I love watching reaction video.... never seen your channel before but subscribed now... also remember this is a movie about love.... won or lost... not everyone's dreams come true with the one they love... look at Laura Linney character... She loved her brother and Karl but was afraid of putting Karl through all she goes through... plus as you can tell from Karl... he always cared about her as well but was afraid of rejection... as for Andrew Lincoln... he loved his best friend as I think we all do.... but never wanted to cause a stress between he and his friend or his friend's wife... so he just stayed away from her because of his feelings... as cringe as it is now... he was trying to tell her that he is over her so they could all be friends
Thank you both for your comments! My girlfriend doing reaction videos with me is a new thing, so I'm glad she likes to do them now that I got her to sit in on some. There will be more coming (some are already recorded), but it might take a little while. We both have full-time jobs so I can't pump the vids out as fast as some other reactors. You could even do a Richard Curtis flick every once in a while, the guy pretty much has rom-coms as their body of work, and he does it well... this one, Notting Hill, About Time, Four Weddings & A Funeral, Bridget Jones Diary...
This was fun and cute. Great job with the editing on this. I never thought about the fact that so many of the ladies had to step it up with the guys.

Good movie. I don't usually like Christmas movies but this one works. Great cast and fun story lines to follow. I think it was good that not all the love stories worked out as it gave the movie a touch of realism. I personally liked the Keira story as one can't really help who one falls in love with and I don't get the sense that Andrew Lincoln's character is going to do anything about it. He just felt he had to let her know, if only for the sake of future interactions with his best friend and wife.

The love story of Emma Thompson and Alan Rickman was particularly poignant, for Emma. She did discuss it, years later. However, that scene played out for her, in real life. She was married to Kenneth Brannagh, seemingly a wonderful happy marriage. They seemed made for each other. Then Kenneth met and worked with Helena Bonham Carter. They had a flaming affair behind Emma's back, and she found out. Divorce and all that messy stuff that happens during times like that. This happened back in the 90's.. when everyone was young. Emma and Helena have made up, and they all were cast in roles in the Harry Potter franchise, albeit, not once did anyone share a scene together lol. xo

At least Andrew Lincoln doesn't go all morose and self-kill or seek pay-back vs. his best friend, or be bothersome to the new couple. He knows his deepest feelings, that he'll be tempted into an affair if he does absolutely nothing; his was a non-dramatic, yet heart-felt method of communicating his innermost thoughts.
I would suggest another film by the same director (Richard Curtis) called About Time. It's charming, thought provoking and quirky fun.
The "porn" couple are on the crew and their job is to algin the lighting, sound, etc.. they are not porn stars themselves. ( I think this is their story.)
Love Hard is my new holiday rom com but this used to be my go-to! It's a classic 🥰
But since Christmas is over... Have y'all tried About Time?! It has Bill Nighy and Rachel McAdams in it n it is a masterpiece imo!!!!
