This weekend I'll be finishing up The Woman They Could Not Silence (really infuriating non-fiction) and maybe starting Kristin Hannah's The Four Winds. I'm a mood reader, so I can never tell what I'll be reading next until I've started (and sometimes not even for about 50 pages after that), but Four Winds did just come off hold on my library list. Hope you enjoy The Ferryman. I liked it, though not as much as The Passage.
I'm enjoying The Ferryman very much, though I just got past the big twist, and I'm a bit confused at the moment! Hope you enjoy Four Winds - I like Hannah but haven't read that one yet.
Funny story: For some reason, zoom runs at a much lower volume on my computer than TH-cam. I turned the volume up last night to chat over zoom with Bookish Best Friend and forgot to reset it. So, when I turned on your video first thing this morning, you blasted my ears out! Ha ha! Obviously, it was completely my fault, but I thought you'd like to know that you woke me up this Sunday morning! I have Cloud Cuckoo Land (I also call it Cloud Cuckoo Atlas!) on my Kobo, but I'm still so intimidated by it! However, both you and Bookish Best Friend have loved it, so I need to get over my issues and read it!
ha ha sorry about that! lol Cloud Cuckoo Land is not at all intimidating (less so than Cloud Atlas, for sure). The different narratives are all interwined throughout the novel (rather than getting one whole story at a time) - great characters, several compelling plots - quite fast-paced. You'll like it.
Lovely video, Sue. Glad to see you feeling better. I just finished Donal Ryan's first novel, The Spinning Heart. Loved it. I've also been re-reading Faulkner's As I Lay Dying for Faulkner in August. Great books.
Thanks, Pat. Still lots of ups and downs (the day after I recorded this I was couchbound again) but the overall trend is improving. I haven't read any Faulkner - Hope you enjoy your reread!
I am so excited for Somewhere Beyond the Sea! Sounds fantastic!
It's great so far!
I'm still finishing my HP book and started Swan Song by Elin Hilderbrand.
Wonderful! Enjoy!
