A coup within a coup, monarchs, religious fundamentalists, CIA, and military dictators. There was more to this story than I thought. Great episode as always.

You should look up Ngo Diem, Ngo Dinh and Madame Nhu ("The Dragon Lady Of Vietnam"),
Kennedy allowed the coup (I'm being generous here), while the de-facto First Lady of Vietnam, Madame Nhu visited Los Angeles, California.
She was mad as Hell, and why not?
The de-facto First Lady Of Vietnam, Madame Nhu, and so-called "Dragon Lady", had the means and opportunity to put JFK in the grave.
She's a suspect, and her complicity in the assassination of President Kennedy cannot be ruled out.
Remember, although Kennedy was touted as being Catholic, he was a Modernist and supporter of John XXIII, a Pope in name only ("PINO"), Communist enabler (at minimum) and, I hate to say it, proved beyond a shadow of a doubt, and to my satisfaction, a Freemason.
      Two points of fact;
      1) Membership in secret societies (specifically Freemasonry) is strictly forbidden by the Catholic Church.
      2) Communism is anathema to Christianity, and this must be believed to be Catholic.

Madame Nhu was true Catholic, and rightfully believed Kennedy, either by his stupidity, or by plan, put her brother-in-law , Ngo Diem and her husband Ngo Dinh, in the grave.
Very unfortunately for Vietnam, her people, and the free world in general, President Kennedy, with the military coup on Diem, lost Vietnam at that time (2 Nov. 1963),
This fiasco, planned, or unplanned, is almost unforgivable and he didn't have much time to do so, as he was also assassinated just three weeks later.

A little anecdote; A friend of my parents, Charles “Muktuk” Marston was one of the last people to see Kermit Jr’s father, Kermit Sr alive before he committed suicide on a trip in Alaska. Kermit Sr. also accompanied Teddy Roosevelt on the infamous River Of Doubt expedition in South America which undoubtedly traumatized him.

Great video . Before a video on the seuz crisis , we need a video on the events of 1954 power struggle between Naguib ( who supported democracy ) and Abdel Nasser ( who supported military autocracy ) and how the popular Naguib lost and was thereby placed under house arrest for the rest of his life . This event is critical because since then Egypt has been ruled , either directly or indirectly , by the military .

The July 23 regime was not the prototype of the conservative Cold War dictatorship and US proxy they hoped to impose.

Saying the CIA helped in removing the king is typical western academia that thinks the world revolves around them. It doesn’t.
The US didn’t do shit in this period. It simply tried to ally the new system. The army officers were anti monarchy and anti west long before ww2. In 1882, an army officer (Orabi) tried to depose the monarchy, the king asked for British intervention and helped them occupy the country which led to British protectorate. In 1941, a free officer (Sadat) who would later become president, tried to contact Erwin Rommel and the plan was Rommel attacks the British from west while the Egyptian army attacks the British from the east and encircling the British troops in North Africa. The secret police that was loyal to the king foiled the plot and arrested Sadat and several other army officers.
Once WW2 was over and the British withdrew to the Canal zone, the free officers were already plotting to remove the king.
Saying the US orchestrated or helped in anything is a lie! The army was rebellious long before the US was a major power.

So many factual errors. I happen to be interested in this piece of history. all I need to say is that Naguib was not a member of the free officers and was only selected by Nasser a couple of days before the coup. Ditto Nasser authorised contacting the Americans only just before the success of the coup to reassure them that the movement was not anti American in any way.

  • @ahmedgamalabdalla5513

Mostly you tend for american plan for MENA supported by afterwards fabricated scenario by Copeland which he requested bride from Nasser in order not to publish.
Egyptians even have the correspondence from and to Copland's negotiating bride.
Of course Egyptians military contacted the major power to secure movement yet their lives not the americans were on stake.

I’m not a fan of Nasser, though I must admit the masses continue to worship him to this day. There has always been speculation that the CIA played a role in the downfall of Farouk and ushered in the Free Officers (Nasser and his bandits) to power. Great work with sound historical information (to the best of my knowledge), as always. You should do a video about the Bay of Pigs. My favorite portrayal of the Bay of Pigs: th-cam.com/video/zxa6SLCoAf0/w-d-xo.html OGA, a common military abbreviation for the CIA, standing for "other government agency" when they can't be directly mentioned
You should do a video about what the FBI and J. Edgar Hoover were doing during the Cold War. More dirty deeds like domestic spying during the Red Scares and MacArthyism, I'm sure... The Bureau and the Agency, MI5 with M16s, white spy and black spy lolz. "In the old days it was more simple. We had our guys, they had their guys. Now it's all about religion, and oil - (sadly) it's no fun any more..." -Sam, Burn Notice
