I genuinely cannot imagine being this delusional. You're able to forget because you're average looking and aren't treated like subhuman dogshit for existing in public.
@@shalxnda I don’t really listen/watch to beauty standards or others showing their looks online and still have facial dysmorphia. Sometimes people just want to feel a certain away about themselves physically; kind of like how people want to change avatars to their preferences in video games.
Bro you are voice of reason. Nowadays self improvement youtubers overestimate importance of physique to sell you their products or coaching. Yes it can make good first impression but relationships at the end of the day are about emotions, how you make other people feel
I started realizing the same recently aswell! "your personal achievements spark like embers but your impact on others burns like the sun", to me this means while its good to achieve things for yourself, the greatest way make a tangible affect in this impermanent and fleeting life is to leave something behind for people you care about. It could be a possession, a lesson, or even simply a good memory. But people continue on even past their time through inspiring others and leaving people fired up. Great video man!
I get that, but at the same time, taking action in the sense of making yourself perception better in the real world, can help you be in a better mood, have better mental health, and when you're like that you can give more to the world as well. I'm not saying this is wrong or right and that this is how it should be or not, it just is that way in my experience. Since I have clear skin and a nice body the world looks like such a brighter place. That's because fitness and skin are a physical manifestation of your health, not just a thing you do for social proof. I think we are "programmed" to feel best at our healthiest and strongest. And I chose to go along with it since it's something I can 100% change
A lot of my friends have been struggling with that lately and coming to me for advices, yet they refuse to believe that it could be any different. That some people truly could care about who they are and not what they have or look like. That what matters in life is much more profound than that. They then proceed to perpetuate those same standards, calling people, even their own friends, ugly and not attractive. I've kind of given up.
Even the most succesful person has bad days, your progress will never go away just because of some bad days, there will always be a tomorrow that will make you see that all the growth you've made is real :)

We’re critical of our physical self because we’re familiar with it. We live within our bodies too much. We feel how much space we take up and it feels big. We forget that everyone else is going through the exact same thing. They’re not thinking about the space we take up because they’re dealing with their own space. Live outside of yourself more, the world will feel bigger and you will feel smaller.

You are wise beyond your years. Beauty comes from within. In order to experience the beauty around us, we have to realize the beauty that is already within us. Great video, Reece
Like everything, it’s not black and white. If you’re not conventionally attractive model pretty and 100% flawless, yeah it doesn’t matter and anyone who thinks it does is immature and superficial and not worth your time and attention. In terms of looking after your skin (where possible), hair, dressing well and presenting yourself as best you can, yes looks do matter. They are things you CAN and SHOULD control as not doing so signals to others that you aren’t disciplined and don’t value/respect yourself.
Looks do not, and they never will, matter. saying this from my perspective, as a blind person, I never focused on looks, never in my life, and arigatou for this video, that, arigatou is thank you in( nihongo) japanese.

Could you address the well-documented phenomenon that attractive people often receive preferential treatment? Numerous studies have shown that they are more likely to receive better opportunities, are perceived as more competent, and are often judged to be smarter. Consider the fact that you having a pretty face might make it easier for viewers to engage with this video in the first place. While I don't disagree with your points, I wonder if there's some level of illusionment that you might touch on
Reece, even though your advice is very positive and successful after all, I don’t agree with this. If looks didn’t matter, nobody would have that insecurity/inquiry in the first place. They matter because they represent something that others perceive us to be, and also how we perceive ourselves. That being said; I don’t believe it’s the only thing by itself that matters. Other factors in life like intelligence, talents, kindness, and charisma matter; looks is also one quality out of another. If somebody chooses not to change their looks, nothing wrong with that. If somebody chooses to change their looks, that’s also not a bad choice as long as you have reasoning. All I’m saying is that some cases looks do matter.
I remember my friend slept on the way to school and snored really loud on the bus. He literally stopped caring after a few days and didn't care anymore and just slept everyday. He said those were the best naps. Literally looked at life completely different after that😂
Looks don’t matter for 90% of people. However, for some people, all others see is that you’re “ugly” or “autistic looking.” I have a weird face, people think I look autistic, and mocked me when I improved myself. For some, looks are pretty much the only thing that matter. It’s not gonna prevent me from living a good life, but for now (17 years old), I’m an abject loser.
yup, 100%. for the most part looks don’t matter but for the unlucky ones like us they dictate how we are treated NO MATTER HOW WE ACT. i’m 22 and i’m a loser. i try my best to live a good life, but damn if i was average looking things would be a lot easier.

Then you should think that if all this is so important to you then you should just do what there's to do to become that, but you're honest with yourself, and you notice why you're doing all this, and like you said, it's like hitting the gym without having fun. Life is complicated for who wants the best from themself, cause we all want the best in everything, but have to deal with our emotions.
