I ❤ GB. Can't seem to move away. You can only drive on about 4 miles of the 18-mile continuous stretch of sand, and I'm glad all those campers and ATV'ers are harmlessly camping and making tracks in the sand instead of the forests and meadows. Let them have their fun. Past the fence where vehicles aren't allowed, the trail continues past the biggest dunes over 500' high to a truly wild stretch of sand called Paradise Beach that has water sources in winter. Then at Point Sal a beautiful trail climbs the ridge to about 1300' with amazing views, and connects with the Point Sal Beach Trail at the end of Brown Rd. No public transportation there, but a hitch to Santa Maria should be easy.

I've never been a fan of cars driving the beach.
Thx for all the info.
