10:32 In addition to micro spikes and ice axes, I recommend glacier glasses-or at the very least, though I can't officially recommend it, some dark sunglasses with DIY side shields using duct tape to reduce glare. But honestly, it's worth spending $60 on a pair of glacier glasses with 5% VLT (Visible Light Transmission). At 13,200 feet, which is considered very high altitude, UV levels are intense due to thinner air allowing more UV radiation through, roughly 78-130% higher than at sea level. With snow on the ground reflecting UV rays (up to 80-90%!), exposure can double, making it nearly 2.5 to 3 times stronger than at sea level. Protection is essential here to prevent serious sunburns and eye damage.
Thank you for sharing this information and I have enjoyed the artistic expression
Love the Pfiffer state park. Thank you for sharing
Hey Rebo, have you done the American Discovery Trail section in California yet? I love your videos and would love to see it.
superbe !!
I used to live in Morro Bay. Your videos are glorious but your pronunciation of place names needs work. Talk to locals please,
You never disappoint. Thank you for your hard work.
This is Bloody amazing 💯🔥
Always an amazing video. Thanks for sharing.
Randy "rebo" Berton, awesome content bro
Locals pronounce it Bo-dae-ga
Watching again, first time got the food! Thank you Hope your well Love the drone video
Very nice and interesting trip.
Amazing video showing how beautiful the San Gabriel Mountains truly are 🙌🏼
This was helpful, thank you.

Beautiful hike man, place looks amazing!
Riding a bike from the LA River to Crystal Cove is the chillest bike ride. Crystal Cove is the perfect place to take someone on their first camping trio. Sometimes California really can do something right.
entertaining and enlightening, thx
Nice!
😎
Another great Video. I plan to head to Musch trail campground on a bike in a couple weeks. Thanks for the info.
Your video stopped a bit short?
Trail Notes was created for short take outs and up dates of the California Coastal Trail.
Nice! I always look forward to your videos!
Gorgeous footage !!❤
This looks and sounds spectacular my friend! What a wonderful production!
What an absolute joy to watch! The production quality is exceptional, and the scenery is simply out of this world! Fantastic work Randy
Another great video sir. After a stressful day, watching this put me at ease. Thank you.

very nice video as always. enlightening to see these trails, including the non-trail! thx for your effort and sharing a 21st century adventure.
Amazing video and historical footage. Loved it😮
Very interesting trek. Looks like you live somewhere in Los Angeles and did an urban walk to the trailhead. Haven't seen that done before! Very cool that you can walk out your door and leave behind the hustle and bustle of the noisy city!
This was obviously filmed before they went nuts with drone regulations :-/ flying in fog, with native birds species, over people and traffic :-P. Thats an impossible waiver these days. Not to mentiin the 1000ft flights over the Bay rule 😢
i love it!! my friends drive cattle through there to bishop every year. miles of cows. i absolutely love it out there. the Sierras are part of my soul. let's not forget the has $5 hot showers for non guests as well and one block away is the "wash house" to do your laundry.
Very nice video Randy
What a well done piece! Highly entertaining! I liked and subscribed a minute in lol! Thanks for the work you put into this content. This reminds me of what TH-cam was originally all about. I'm hiking the PCT northbound in a few weeks. I was born and reared in Pasadena. So the San Gabriel Mountains are what I identify as home. I look forward to more videos! Cheers!
I found this to be immensely relaxing. Thank you. I’m hiking from Big Bear to Cajon Pass next month.
Big Bear Lake to Cajon Pass is going to be a awesome Hike. You are going to get spectacular views going up Cougar Crest Trail to Pacific Crest Trail There is excellent Over head views of Big Bear Lake. Deep Creek High Bridge has excellent tenting and water access. plus Deep Creek Hot Springs is awesome right alongside Pacific Crest Trail. Some locals might surprise you as clothing is optional while using the hot springs. There are 4 - 5 different hot springs. The Hike over to Mojave Dam will give you the first Creek fording before heading towards Silverwood Lake. Over by the fishing and camp ground area of Silverwood Lake There is a small tackle store with food and beverages. Silverwood Lake is a good stop over with potable water and restrooms. The Hike back up you give you spectacular views looking back at Silverwood Lake. As you drop down into Cajon Pass you will have vistas of the San Andreas Fault line. For your Pleasure I will leave a Google Map Link for the Cougar Crest Trail in Big Bear Lake that takes hikers up to the Pacific Crest Trail. Some Hikers on the Pacific Crest Trail prefer this route for resupplies into the town of Big Bear Here is the Shared route: From Cougar Crest Trailhead (parking fee area), Cougar Crest Trail, Big Bear, CA 92314 to Pacific Crest Trail - Polique Canyon Trailhead, Pacific Crest Nat'l Scenic Trl, Big Bear, CA 92314 via Cougar Crest Trail. 1 hr 19 min (3.0 mi) To see this route visit maps.app.goo.gl/iaDqaWJhdubRE5bT6
Thank you sir. Just watched your trip for the second time. I look forward to more videos like this from you. I’m in San Diego and hope to meet you on trail one day. My trail name is Sherwood.
Bravo.....hiking "LA"... bravo.........I like start at ocean feet in water and swim ......the hike.....hot strings......cheers
A wonderful adventure. Thank you so much for sharing and I appreciate all the helpful information.
Voice doesn't quite sound like Rebo.
So odd to be hiking for days, seeing only a few other hikers, then suddenly looking down at millions of people from Baden-Powell. Slept on the summit. Cowboy-camped in the stand of scrub trees at the edge overlooking LA. What a mix of wilderness so seemingly close to America's largest city.
Excellent work, again. 👏.
Thanks for the memories bud ❤
This was gorgeous scenery my friend! 👏👏
Nice editing work especially on the drone footage over the trail n bridge or tunnel entries. I liked the map outline integration which help us follow along. Usually hikers doing trail videos do too much selfie framed work showing more of their mug than trail ! Most over do the voice over script recording: I thought yours was a very good blend. I’d encourage you to keep filming and making more videos.
Thank you Anthony...I have been getting good information From film makers and writers that help writers to understand the viewers right to discovery. I am learning (slowly urghh) to allow the film be the story teller and to allow room for the viewer to figure out the narrative.. I have a lot to learn with understanding the differences in structure like music that use triad chords to major 7ths or minor 9ths I am looking forward to have a deepened sense to narrative and story telling...thank you so much for your encouragement - rebo
Very cool, thanks Rebo...
Awesome video Rebo!!! -Sage (Randy Welch)
Loved the video!!!
Simply enjoyable content, shots are great my friend.
Many thanks!
