I really like PowerDirector 16 because I researched this Video editor with other Video editors on the market and found this got the right balance between ease of use and complexity and a right tool for TH-cam publishing for beginners and Intermediate.

With all of yours ( and others ) tuts, I have finally arrived at the point, where I am actually proud of my last two videos. One was chosen to be the intro video for a group of gamers I belong to, the other was a video for a reunion for the ship I was on in the 70's, which was well received. I won a 360 degree camera from Amazon, so now, I need the best software available .
Whether I win or not...it is only going to get better!

Awesome!!! @ 4:10, came the part which I, simply, LOVE: "We won't see this section in this basic tutorial."...
Excellent & exceptional. Thank you for not telling us *_where_* to find tutorial(s) on "Create Disc".
PS Why you are claiming in the title "[COMPLETE]"????!?!?!?!?

    • @bai
      @bai  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      1) We do not have any video regarding creating discs, because views are too low for this tutorial
      2) it is COMPLETE for beginners. Creating discs is not the first thing you do with PD in the 99% of cases.

I am looking into video software programs to help me with a huge family project. I have scanned in all our printed photos (that took years!) and I am now converting all our family VHS tapes to digital. I need a good software program to help me not only improve the quality of the videos but to help put together a storyboard/slideshow. My ultimate goal would be to give these out as gifts. I am a newbie to video editing, but it would be absolutely wonderful to be the recipient of such a versatile program! Thanks for considering me. Happy holidays!

I would love a copy of this software. I have been experimenting with trial versions of other software, but this appears to be the best balance of complexity and simplicity. I am in need of an easy to use, but powerful video editing software. Thank you for your consideration and your helpful guides.

Hi, PowerDirector 16 would be the perfect tool for me to edit and share my motorcycle travel adventures with everyone. After each ride I come back with hours of material. Fantastic views on small country roads with amazing landscapes. PowerDirector 16 would allow me edit, select, combine and ad some visual effects. Edit and change sound as needed. Thank you

Tips for anyone using this program & trying to burn DVD: Make sure if you create custom Menu, your function buttons aren't overlapping with any other buttons.
I was getting an error code pop up, bit I was able to get it to burn using these options in the Create Disc, 2d disc menu:
Under Disc format, select DVD 4.7 GB.
Under video & audio settings: Select DvD- Video as recording format
    Widescreen 16:9
MPEG 2 as video encoding format & quality
    HQ 720x480/60i (9.5 Mbps)
Dolby digital as audio encoding format
    2 channels
    Enable cyberlink true theater sound
    Living room.
    Hope it helps

The program is not laggy or choppy. I edit primarily 1080p video in it, MP4 codec. Even when I apply transitions and some effects, It's going without slowdowns. It is DEFINITELY not as smooth as Adobe Premiere Pro, which I use at the office. Premiere feels like full pro program, Powerdirector feels like a good consumer program. But for edits which are not very complex Powerdirector is fine. My computer at home has AMD 1700X CPU and Nvidia 1060 GPU, to give you an idea.

I would love to use the new software. Right now i use 15 and it is great, i like to shoot locations and events but from what i've seen in the new version, the 360 video looks like it is expanded more than the 15. The thing is , i haven't played with the 360 at all and i think it would be a wonderful idea to start with this 16 edition, ill have to get it soon anyways so why not learn with the new features. thanks for the contest.

"CyberLink PowerDirector 10," Is a software I have found much useful. The software has really gave me some optional ways to edit videos, better then other video editing software, I have used. It Is great for an amateur, who Is Into making some creative videos. "CyberLink PowerDirctor 16" would probably be even better. It may have some more useful features.

I would like to have Power Director 16 because of the advancements that are offered from Power Director 15.. I play online gaming and use capture card to record in full 1920 x 1080 at 60fps I think it would help me in making better higher quality videos due to the fact its updated with the latest NVENC encoding this will probably save me hours in rendering when i am dealing with a 2 or 3 hr video..

Would love to have this software to edit my aerial video. I can see how this would be great to mix effects and cut and splice my hour long youtube videos to make an exciting video less than 15 minutes long. It's hard to keep viewers engaged when videos are longer than 10 - 15 minutes. I think this product could do just that.

I'm always tasked to be the editor each time we have to make a movie or video presentations, so I always end up downloading the free trial version which only lasts for 30 days. I PAID ALMOST 200 FOR power director 16 at Fry's. The man didn't know what he was selling me and what I wanted. I learned on Adobe Premiere Pro 10 years ago. I am ready to go back at it again and wanted something like Premiere Pro but Fry's doesn't sell it. He said Power Director was the closest.... it isn't. I still can't make my granddaughter's grad speech and memories in a format they can see. what is this pds format? what happened to the simple burn on the dvd and play features? Please help me!!!

    • @toney5043
      @toney5043 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Nancy, I am somewhat confused by your post. Not to insult you but I initially thought your post was a joke. First of all, if you still have the PD16 software, let me say welcome to Cyberlink PowerDirector. It will more than serve your described video editing needs.
I too started out 10 years ago also on Premiere Pro (CS3, CS5.5 and then CS6). Once Adobe went to the subscription model and started charging through the nose, I had to look for an alternative. I still have a copy of Premiere Pro CS6 that on very, very rare occasions I will go back to (mostly for multi-cam editing) but for the most part, PD16 is my go-to editor Let me address some of your concerns.
      1. You said: "I am ready to go back at it again and wanted something like Premiere Pro but Fry's doesn't sell it." You can search the web and find all kinds of video editing products (both paid and free) as well as a host of opinions as to which consumer, prosumer or pro editing software is the best. In this day and age, finding the right editor is akin to purchasing a new car--it really comes down to your preference and taste.
      2. You said: "He said Power Director was the closest.... it isn't" Actually it is. If you feel like Cyberlink's PD16 is not for you, Adobe does have a product at the consumer/prosumer level that has features "similar" to Premiere Pro. It is called Adobe Premiere Elements.
However, let me share this with you. I am currently producing a 2-hour documentary using PD16. In April, I produced and distributed a 2-minute trailer for the film in advance of the release next month. One person that I sent it to was a television producer friend that I have a great amount of respect for. After looking at the trailer he could not believe that I had not used a high-end editor like Premiere Pro or Final Cut Pro X to produce the trailer. The moral of this story is the like anything in life, it's not the instrument, but rather its the musician that makes the instrument sound good. As to the comparison to PP, I find PD16 extremely flexible and fast. It has more features than a swiss army knife.
      3. You Said: "I still can't make my granddaughter's grad speech and memories in a format they can see." Now, this is where the rubber meets the road. My first thought when I read that statement is that you have not taken advantage of the thousands of GREAT PowerDirector tutorials that are on TH-cam. My second thought was that "She probably does not know about the PD Forum". PowerDirector forum is a community of like-minded folks like yourself that are ready to help you achieve your wildest editing dreams. But first, let's talk formats. There is hardly any video format that you cannot import into PD16.
PD16 will import the following video formats.
      ▪ H.265/HEVC ▪ MOD
      ▪ MVC (MTS) ▪ MOV (H.264/alpha PNG NEW)
      ▪ Side-by-Side Video ▪ MPEG-1
      ▪ Top-under Video ▪ MPEG-2
      ▪ Dual-Stream AVI ▪ MPEG-4 AVC (H.264)
      ▪ FLV (H.264) ▪ MP4 (XAVC S)
      ▪ MKV (multiple audio streams) ▪ TOD
      ▪ 3GPP2 ▪ VOB
      ▪ AVCHD (M2T, MTS) ▪ VRO
      ▪ AVI ▪ WMV
      ▪ DAT ▪ WMV-HD
      ▪ DivX* ▪ WTV in H.264/MPEG2 (multiple video and audio streams)
      ▪ DV-AVI ▪ DSLR video clip in H.264 format w/ LPCM/AAC/Dolby Digital audio
      ▪ DVR-MS
360 Video: Equirectangular format MP4 (H.264). Supports up to 4K resolution in 2:1 aspect ratio.
      * To enable DivX, please download the DiVX codec online. Available for 32-bit Windows OS only.
      4. You said: "what is this pds format?" This is where taking the time to delve into the video tutorials on TH-cam and accessing the PD Forum really will pay off. To answer your questions, the .PDS format is PowerDirector's native format. To illustrate, when one works in Microsoft Office and you go to save a Word, Excel or PowerPoint document, you save it in MS Office's native format (.docx for Word, .xlsx for Excel and .PPTX for PowerPoint.). If you attempt to import one of those formats or to open one of them in another program, they will not open properly. This is the case with what you are seeing with a PDS file. It will only open in a PD program. In order for the file to accessed by someone, it will have to be either produced into a format such as MP4 or created/burned to a DVD. All of this is done within PD16 "AFTER" you have completed editing your project.
PD16 will Export the following video formats:
      ▪ 3D Video: MVC, Side-by-Side, Anaglyph ▪ MPEG-4 AVC (.MP4) with AAC/Dolby Digital audio NEW
      ▪ High-Definition: AVCHD, AVCHD 2.0 (3D/ Progressive)

I guess I will stop here but this is my recommendation since you asked for help.
      1. Study the many video tutorials on TH-cam. One of the best, if not the best PowerDirector Tutorial Website is "The Sharper Turtle. It can be found at www.sharperturtle.com. That is my first and most important suggestion to you. They even have all of their tutorials cataloged and in PDF format that you can print out. That way you can search for a specific topic. The host (Jim) has produced these quick (10 minute or less) tutorials that will help you a lot. Forum. This community of PD users is a great place to get your questions answered. Here is a link to the Forum. forum.cyberlink.com/forum/forums/show/164.page;jsessionid=C7A3497305E8BA711488BE2999F78A70
      3. My last suggestion is this--be patient. My first PD version was PD13 about 3 years ago. What I have found is that Cyberlink seems to be ahead of the pack when it comes to adding features and adding ease of use to their products. Like anything in life, there is always a learning curve. If you stay in your lane and don't give up to soon, you will master/tame PD16.
      Hope this has helped.

One minute 21 in, sounds like a sales pitch. I want to learn how to use it. I expect to start at the beginning, proceed through creating a simple video and saving and or sharing with minimal edits. Learning new features starts from there.

I'm a musician. My mission is to help people heal through life's tough times, to bring people together as the community of Humanity, and to all around uplift all the beings on this planet (plant, animals, people). As my career picks up momentum, I plan to accomplish my mission by partaking in humanities efforts like volunteering and fundraising (particularly for causes like feeding hungry people, educating our youth, and protecting Earth's plant and wildlife). Please help me make the world a better place. I could have a lot more credibility if I had nice videos, and that would be the launching point for me to start giving back to the world. Thanks so much for the opportunity.

I'm using PD16 to create videos to upload to TH-cam. Full HD video capture has been done using GoPro and Nuviz units. The raw video is crisp and seamless, not glitches or fuzziness. Video created with PD16 is also crisp and seamless when saved and played from my local PC. However, when video is produced and sent directly to TH-cam, the video looses fidelity and quality. I've tried a few different things such as uploading the raw video (which makes the quality worse). Can anyone provide setting recommendations for youtube video uploads that provides quality video? Any advice is appreciated. Thanks.

The best settings for TH-cam are indeed .mp4 files with AAC, matching the 16:9 aspect ratio (1080p, 2160p).

I would really like to have a copy of power director 16 because it would really help out in classes, especially custom movie making in our class project so I could finish school and pay all depths to my parents (the depths are: when they are taking care of me since birth.
