I had the privilege of seeing ABBA in concert. Yes, everybody was dancing, even the security guards. Nothing but fun and music and dancing. God, I miss the 70's.
Yep. I felt like someone had stolen from a child i was very proud of when Madonna did “Hung Up”. Lol I was like “HEY, THAT’S ABBA’S TUNE!! Wtf?!” I love them.
@@hyacinthdibley2420 She said that she would beg Benny on her knees or write bianco check if needed, just to get that intro, because it's known that they (ABBA) don't give their songs to other performers for covers. @@Azarath_Metrion_Zinthos What Ava Max did was not a sample (technically, sample is the exact fragment of another song played in loop), she used the same keyboard sound, so it felt like it was Gimme gimme, but it wasn't. When you add two of the best songwriters and melodists with two of the best singers of the music industry of all time, well you have Abba with timeless and iconic songs that everybody keep on listening to 40 years later...
I feel sorry for Rutger Gunnarsson, played the bass and made the string arrangements for ABBA, a huge part of their sound - never gets a mention. He died a few years back relatively unknown (but worth around $100m!).
Every song ABBA produced was an instant hit. They have nothing but hits :))) I wasn`t a fan back then but the older I get, the more I appreciate their genius :)
I have Loved ABBA since 1972 ! and danced all over New York City in the clubs , most of my friends (even today ) never cared for disco, some hated it! Long Live ABBA !
Still remember when ABBA won the swedish Melodi Grand Prix in 1974 (Waterloo). I was 3 years old. My first musical crush. I have listened to them all my life. The best, most ABBA - ich song is "Ring, Ring".
I really like how you always hear something very specific in a song that I would have never have thought about, and how absolutely right you always are in your comments. You are quite the talent.
Possibly one of the top 3 greatest bands of all time. Their production techniques and value were on another planet. While other bands were mixing multiple guitar/drum or voice tracks ie: 5 or 6 multiple tracks of the same instrument or voice laid upon each other. These guys were laying 24+ on top of each other.
I haven't heard an ABBA song I haven't liked and this one always got me dancing. I love the way you describe what you like in a song, what you hear in the instruments, you point out things I have missed even though I may have heard it many times over the years. Take care and stay safe please everyone God bless you all love hugs and peace my friends Mary-Ellen UK
No matter what song of ABBA's you listen to, you can't help but start to move. Just one of those great bands where every song is fun to listen to to brighten the day.
Hi from the UK, just adore ABBA from time they won the eurovisio with Waterloo to when they retired, LEGENDS ONE AND ALL , even now their music is loved world wide never to be forgotten .
There's a great wealth of videos of ABBA to explore here on TH-cam. When I went beyond what was on ABBA Gold, I realized how much I had missed. It finally got to the point where I had to purchase their boxed set, so I could have all their studio albums. I bought several books about them too.
I didn't grow up with Abba. My mother has it all on vinyl and CD. I started listening to Abba when I was 16. When I turn up Dancing Queen or "Gimme gimme gimme" my mother starts dancing and smiling. Me too :-) As great as the appreciation for Abba later became ... I don't think any of these people listened to the lyrics. The lyrics are phenomenally good, the sound is pure perfection ... together with the voices it is and remains unmatched. At 25 I am not ashamed to say: I am an Abba fan. And if nobody remembers us anymore ... Abba will be remembered when there is no more electricity and her songs can no longer be played ... everyone will hum the songs to themselves ... and smile.
With ABBA you almost never go wrong (almost). Their songs are amazing, infectious, joyful, soulful, and plain good! Benny Andersson (the one with the beard) and Bjorn Ulvaeus were great songwriters, and that they wrote in English (instead of their native Swedish) is a testament to their talent. And the voices of Agnetha Fältskog (the blonde) and Anni-Frid Lyngstad (or Frida to the fans and her friends) blend so beautifully. The shame is that they only made music together from the early 1970s to about 1981. They were married to each other....Agnetha and Bjorn were one couple and Benny and Frida were the other. When the marriages fell apart, so did the band. They were even reportedly offered 1 Billion Dollars (US) just a few years ago to reunite for a single concert event...and they turned it down. They are all multi-millionaires many times over, their music still sells like crazy, and they have a stage musical called 'Mamma Mia!' that uses their songs that was so successful in London and New York that they made it into a film with Meryl Streep and Pierce Brosnan, which ended up getting a sequel film. ABBA almost always has had the golden touch. Great reaction!
Perhaps for your next Abba reaction you might want to try Kisses of Fire/Lovers Live a Little Longer from Live in Switzerland; the vocals are incredible.
Dude.. love your reactions.. My sister signed me up into The ABBA fan club in 1976. I was 6. I am now 50. They're hits are majestic perfect pop.. watch out if you go roaming in the albums though..
OMG!!!! Erasure did a cover of this song and I had no idea ABBA did it first. Check out the Erasure version also. If you hadn't heard of them, they are a New Wave 80s band. Still together today... AMAZING!!! Thanks and take care buddy
abba never ever made a bad or underpar song everything they wrote composed or sung was pure gold.. i dare anyone to listen to an abba song and not want to start to move and dance....

ABBA was the PERFECT pop group! EVERYONE has a favorite Abba song! The Winner Takes it All the best song I've ever heard to describe Divorce. Angel Eyes Momma Mia Waterloo Does Your Mother Know SOS Dancing Queen SOOOOO MANY!!!
You never go wrong with ABBA and ABBA reactions...its such high timeless quality..it can never go wrong...it just cant...this is a great song, disco esk as Jayvee was saying, great song...great melody..classic...
You could also do "Honey Honey". You notice they had this habit of repeating the title word: "Honey Honey", "Ring Ring" and Gimme! Gimme! Gimme!"... and how could I forget "Andante Andante".
ABBA is always great. Music just is so great that they could sing it all night and you wouldn't be bored.i know what you were talking about, 70s disco had that beat, that both those songs had.
Abba's 1982 live perfomance of "The Day Before You Came" is great and very worth watching. Probably one of their final performances. Also, an Abba song that the men sang is "Does your mother know?"
You can never go wrong with ABBA!!
true fact

Agnetha.... changed me.... god i love her vocals.....
This song is a monster! So well done. ABBA had such a quality, no wonder Madonna took that entry for one of her songs, it's so good.
Great ABBA reaction, they were a hit machine! You should do “S.O.S.”
