- Late-night session that will never get posted unless I just post it today.
Patch notes:
Morphagene is getting funky gates for playback and shift from the 4ms clock divider being fed Euclidian stuff from Pamela's New Workout with a fair amount of RSkip happening to introduce uncertainty.
I've got an envelope from Pam's New Workout sliding the varispeed around on Morphagene for a tape effect, and swapping around genes and morph to get different feelings.
Bass is 0-Coast, other voices are Piston Honda III, Pico Voice, Plaits (which is doing the sort of steel drum sound) and a little pit of Pico System III doing that high simple triangle arp line. All of that is being sequenced by the Hermod.
Drums from the vpme QD drum module, with a fair amount of modulation, including a gate with a big width set to change the decay of the snare every few bars. Key Step Pro is sequencing the drums, and I use the mutes on the QD and the fill buttons on the KSP for performance effects.
Because the KSP is clocking the ADE-32 for modulation, when I use fills on the KSP it temporarily messes up the clocking on the ADE-32 and makes the modulation rates change in interesting ways.
Finally, the After Later Monsoon (a MI Clouds clone) is getting fed ramps from ADE-32 to modulate everything on it, and I am playing around with the sliders on the fly to get crazy glitch effects.

I like the part where it goes thwoop thwoop teety teet teet thwoop
ME TOO
😆🧐 me too ❤️
more into the dook dook dooka doots myself
I thought modular was supposed to make doing this impossible.
no, it just makes doing this really expensive
The Keystep Pro has to be the most powerful and useful $400 piece of equipment out right now. It can literally be the brain of every single thing you need.
I always impressed with my sensation of clipping in parts of de music. And how this makes sense all together. U transposed the idea from 80/90 video games through the modules.
My ears is saying thanks.
The breaks really tied everything together. Excellent work fam.
Love love love the morphagene
That's so funky! Love it
This is so rad. Love the nice fat sounds. It kinda has a Simian Mobile Disco vibe to it.
Man you really come to life messing with this modular setup. Pretty damn cool
you my friend are an immensely talented musician
🎶🎶🎶🥰🥰🥰
I concur. His Production with the Mixdown levels is all on point too... sounds stellar on my lil smartphone speaker.
Impressive performance! Loving the tape effect and glitches. Fun indeed!
This is absolutely a sound that I aspire to be able to create, in my own way of course! Super, super cool Jeremy!
this is so good! groovy, fun, crazy, amazing.
Ah, the happy future music we deserve! Great stuff.
Wow, great stuff
Man I love this stuff I remember whem you first went modular now damn, keep at it very inspiring
Love it dude!
that... was bloody incredible
This is so badass. I hope it reaches millions of ears. I would buy this on vinyl in a heartbeat!
wonderful stuff
I'm amazed you kept this jam to 6 min. Hard to let this groove end!
Fuck those morphogene patches. I would killd for a morphogene based system. I also love to see you grooving so much to this one. Fun as hell
The cables are multiplying like tribbles, I fully expect the desk to be covered next episode... The Trouble With Cables.
Haha
I'm so bad at implementing samples into my stuff you do it so well and purposefully it seems ugh
This was groovy I can tell you had fun with it 😁
Well done Jeremy!
This is totally the best thing you've done
Proof that reasonably sane sequencing can be done with modular. Great work, I would also love to see a breakdown or an intro guide to integrating modular with a DAW or other sequencer :)
This is wonderful, amazingly musical
FUN! That was inspiring Jeremy :) Goes to show when time is spent composing and structuring, you can make some awesome new sounding tracks with eurorack. Looking forward to more
Mozart's ghost jamming with me "damn he's a musical genius!"
Me "yes, yes he is!"
HOT DAMN
Love it!
oh this is sick as hell
Nice TENCHO!!!!
wow, this is sick J, thanks :)
I thought it said "shwag" for a second and I was teleported back to 2010
Lol
Now that is a bop, a jam, and a banger all at once!
Also, how do you get all them shiny JJ Abrams lens flares? A e s t h e t i c
Me like 🎵🎶
Amazing
More plz
Watching this video, I really wish I had some sort of stems for this because I feel like this could be remixed like a bajillion ways. So many cool glorpy effects I want to pull them all out and mangle them even further!!
those improvisations ffffffffffffffffffffffffffff**k bravo!
This was great. I’m inspired by the way you learned to use modular gear and I would like to dive in myself. What is the learning process like? Did you teach yourself?
Wow
this is what Sounds Like when you KNOW! what you're actually doing with the Equipment you have!
Bublegum Funk
😮
REX THE DOG VIBES!
anja schneider - sehnsucht. Sounds familiar)
Why does mine only make fart sounds?! This is awesome!! 💙
jeremy, i am concerned. every successive modular video you have more and more modules, now you have 9U. your wellbeing is important to me and GAS is a real sickness. GAS killed my father in a tragic system 100 accident... please. get help.
Worry more because I'm looking at getting a bigger rack :(
Channeling some aphex or some sh*t... Nice work Jeremy looks like you are getting the hang of it!
i smell mLight Diffuse
Hey since you got your modular feet wet with the pico system III do you recommend it for starting out in modular?
Yes!!
Very Nathan Barley-esque :)
ASMR: touching spaget for 6mins :D
jeremy this track was more fked up than aphex twin!
Nice vid.
Breakbeat? No.
Electro? Maybe.
See etymology here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Breakbeat
I really like this! It kinda reminds me of a chef bouncing around his kitchen messin' with the spices to perfect his stew.
I love spices
Again, you make modular make sense and make music rather than blip blop noise that so many other videos seem to show - and you're relatively new to the world of modular too!
Looking at the links to your gear, modular can soon empty your account!!
Great video.
Yeah it's been pricy but rewarding. I'm trying to get more stuff out there so maybe I can develop a relationship with makers to get their gear in the rack.
@@RedMeansRecording keep doing what you're doing because, in a world of incredible grooveboxes that allow polished songs to be created, you are making modular seem more relevant and musical!
so sick, awesome!!!!!!!
One of the most groovy modular tunes I've heard yet!!
I love how he manipulated a bunch of samples in real time. Not a lot of modular productions do that.
Groovin' to the plywoodstep!
Neato mosquito
You really shwang my shwong like noone else.
Damn boooii!! He thick!!!!
Reallyy.. Really awesome!!!
I'm so glad you posted it, this sounds amazing. I would love to see a video explaining what you are doing.
I'll have some videos coming out about the individual components but I won't be able to do a patch video on this.
yes
AOOOOowh!
Lol one month in and you're already a pro. Love all your stuff but its especially great to see you in modular, super excited to hear more.
I have *zero clue* what the *hell* is going on but I *love it*
As a new owner of one, I have to ask: what’s the Zoia responsible for within this particular arrangement?
Reverb and delay only
@@RedMeansRecording
Noted, thanks!
is this a new lens or am i late or something. it has a different feel to your other videos. i much prefer it
I got a Panasonic gh5s with a zoom to shoot the modular stuff. It's a great camera and lens combo.
It also appears to be reasonably impervious to contact bumps from dance moves (4:55).
Twenty-odd years ago, during a brief spell of unemployment, I watched a kids’ tv show (presented- for the uk readers out there- by Roland Rivron of all people) in which it was explained that music was a combination of rhythm and melody. Some popular music - and I’m looking at you, rap- leaves out the melody, while much of the modular noodling out there omits both rhythm AND melody. This has a beat and a recognisable tune, and is, in consequence, actually music.
If you’re not careful, you’ll be disowned by the modular community.
Lolo
Love your stuff but i am curious why not just use a singular program or the likes and emulate all this vs this kind of setup?
Because I will not get hands in control and the insane modulation I'll get with the modular setup
