- When we adopted Penelope from China 5 years ago, we began a multi-year process of repairing her cleft lip and palate and restoring her teeth. So much of that process has been a hurry up and wait, with surgeries and procedures and then "no let's wait until your jaw matures enough to fix the rest." Well, we are finally to this final stage of preparing for the big surgeries later this year. Penelope got braces this week! We couldn't be more excited for her, but she is definitely more excited than even we are! #familyvlog #parenting #adoption #bigfamily

So Like couple years back I used to put subtitles because I couldn't fully understand Penny but after the surgery I didn't need them anymore and the fact that her English is near perfect now as well makes it even better! Also I love how she reciprocates the same energy to you guys when y'all mentioned she was amazing, very nice and beautiful soul right there!

My daughter had that surgery at 16. Her mouth was wired. Everything had to be liquid and put in a syringe that was used to feed her through a little hole. She had no way of putting food to chew in her mouth. Wishing Penelope the best on this adventure💖
