  • In this short video, we will review the Rikon Drill Press, and I will show you how I managed to turn it into a floor model drill press. That little hack worked perfectly.

Thanks for the explanation of speeds vs bit size. I have a new drill press and have little comprehension yet of which speeds are appropriate for the task at hand.

"Here comes the hack" should be on some Monty McKinnon merch!!! BTW: I'm happy to see you finally got to posting, Monty! 😊After watching that shorts update, I thought it would be awhile.

Nice hack! I wish I had a speed adj lever… I have to move my belts around if I want to adj my speed on my drill press lol 😆

To get to the higher speeds I need to change the belts. I forgot to include that in the video. lol

    Nice piece of equipment!
I have an old (1970's) Rockwell countertop drill press. I got it as a throw away item at a place I worked at in the 1980's. It doesn't have as many adjustments as yours has, and you have to loosen the motor and move the belt to a different set of pulleys to adjust the speed, but it still drills holes. 🙂

Drilling hole is the important thing.
