- More than 50,000 personnel from 31 NATO and partner nations are gathering in Norway for exercise Trident Juncture 18. Their hosts in the Royal Norwegian Army have some practical advice to share.
Held in central Norway, the NATO exercise starts on 25 October and continues through 7 November.

Was in Bardufoss for two weeks in 1976 with the AMF. Absolutely beautiful and COLD! What an amazing chance of a lifetime that I was able to attend. To meet all the NATO allies was fantastic.

Btw AMF is was for Allied Mobile Force was it not ? I remember tail end of the Cold war ,and some of the terminology, forces etc ..

Exerting global influence in the modern age through friendly media videos, not a bad strategy! Keep it up, I seeing what NATO countries are like considering I've heard the word NATO in the news from a very early age. It's nice to put a face to a name/concept.
Russia is taking an aggressive approach, so we are taking a friendly approach to get people on our side;)
@@ryangoslingIRL Totally agree, Russia likes to pretend that NATO is expanding by invading, but really countries are joining to benefit from that communal defence and shared experience. If Russia didn't act so hostile to their neighbours less countries would be considering NATO membership.

Fun fact, the modern trend for Sushi to have salmon as a popular topping, is from Norway. Previously wild caught Salmon in Japan would have the potential for parasites, so was cooked before eating, but Norway was so good at farming salmon in pure water Fjords that they had a surplus, and a smart businessman convinced some Japanese companies to offer it. The rest is history.

As a Norwegian i wouldn't say we 'love' fish that much. It really depends where you live and if you like it. Pluss, there is a lot of traditional food in Norway that doesn't involve fish like pinnekjøtt and ribbe! :)

Same in the US. I grew up on the East Coast(New Jersey)where we love seafood. My wife is from the Midwest(Nebraska)and she doesn't like seafood too much but she's trying. 😎

But the word 'ski' comes from Old Norse not Norwegian.. If anything, Icelandic is the closest relative to Old Norse!
You are correct, up to a point. Icelandic is indeed the closest relative to Old Norse, but Old Norse was the language spoken in Norway going back to the Viking age.
