After the crazy over the top Natlan designs I honestly love her design. It's so simple yet elegant and touching. Probably my favorite 4 star character design for a long while.
Eh. Don’t get me wrong, I really like Lanyan’s design but I’m kind of burnt out on the East Asian aesthetic. I know it’s a Chinese game and so it’s going to take a lot from its own culture; but it’s so heavily saturated at this point with HSR/WuWa ect that Natlan was a refreshing change of pace. Just my opinion though.
@@bouyo32123 I think you are not wrong, but it is pretty subjective. If someone only played with Genshin not a lot of chinese inspired character was realised in the near past. I think the last one was Xianyun and Ga Ming, and his design not really chinese either. Oh, and I assume you are happy with the new designs in WuWa then.
@@purplerainPR If just a sliver of that is true, then the traveler must be at least the same level as Mavuika in terms of power in game and in the story. Regardless of lore and whatnot, possessing a gnosis would be possessing an ungodly amount of power.
personally i saw some leaks about her animation. Her normal attacks have really dope animation, as usual. I really think it's a pity that most of Genshin's characters nicely animated normal attacks are basically useless in their kits. Hopefully I could use her as a driver as it's anemo and she comes with her own shield.
She IS a driver. The shield is meant for herself, not your team. People are overlooking the fact that her ICD is great for a Swirl DPS. This also explains why she has EM scaling out of nowhere. She's C4 Yanfei but Anemo. Yes, you can her as a shielder just like how some people use Yanfei, but that's not her intended role.
@AevyCh i may been misreading your main topic, but i am looking forward for her as a driver not a shielder, i was just stating that she seems like a driver that comes with her own shield, which is great cause magicians (I don't play in english I don't know the term for casters/magician/etc u get the idea) has the lowest poise stat across all weapons. But yeah thanks for telling me she works as a driver, which is my intention. Plus to me, if i'm looking for a shielder, i would rather look for that in zhongli for 5.2 latter half as that is a more flexible shielder vs anemo shield design wise. Or even citlali for some potential power creep shielding advantages for my hutao.
@@sandz000 nope, she's not! You'd use her right before the DPS for TTDS and VV buffs anyway, so the shield uptime should be just enough for most onfielders to do their thing

Super excited for her in Clorinde aggravate and taser teams! There's also possibility that she'll be running on Clorinde's rerun banner what doubles the hype ☺ VV set, grouping, shielding, EM buffing on C4 and being TTDS holder seems like being almost tailor-made for aggravate
She's promising. Until I see her skill CD.. 16 seconds with 8 seconds shield duration. You either need her C6 to make her skill gain 2nd charge, or forever bound to sac frag.
Yeah Pyro MC is apparently coming in 5.3 according to word on the grapevine and we'll be getting C6 directly without having to level up the statues to get it.
@@haydenz0 Yeah, you can still get to C5 at least before that, already have 4 of those. Depending on how many quests there are for the last tribe, you'll be able to get it second week of the patch. At least it won't need other than to spend some materials every week and do some bounties.
She will be good for Clorinde. C0 Clorinde's like the comfort but trade in the max damage potential for it, I.e Clor, Fish, Nahida, Zhong. Swapping Zhong Li out should buff her aggrevate.
One thing not covered here that she's going to be solid for is DPS Faruzan teams, particularly those running Faruzan with First Great Magic since you really want a second Anemo for the extra buff from the bow's passive, but previously your only Anemo sustain options were Jean and Sayu, who are both reliant on their burst

I usually come to your channel mainly for kit analysis and strategy tips, so I'm not really a fan of the first 5 minutes or so of lore-reading you started doing recently. Of course there are people who are going to enjoy it and I can always skip it, so it's not a big deal, but I just felt like writing this down, in case you needed some feedback about it. For the rest, keep up the good work 🙃
12:25 as of v1 her shield scales off ATK, but there is part of her kit that gets more damage based on EM. 15:33 she has a bit of grouping, but its tied to her burst (it might be very similar to Heizou's grouping, which is also tied to his burst). Personal verdict is that she's very close to heizou in terms of character value, both can use VV & TTDS and has a bit of EM buffing for the team (heizou at C0, Lan needs C4 though). Heizou has more personal damage, while lan is for more comfort.
No kidding! I am very excited about Lan Yan as well. I was planning to pull for Mavuika and Zongli, now I feel like I will be happy to get only Lan Yan and Citlali. And if I have more I will pull Mavuika.
I am intrigued by Lan Yan, she reminds me of the game Kingdoms of Amalur, where the mage class used a pair of discs in combat...and from the sound of it, her burst will send them spinning around her too... An Anemo Infusion shielder who scales on ATK is pretty out there...but I'm excited.
Her design is very, very, very NPC coded. Probably the most NPC looking playable character in the whole game. With that said, I do like it, but I think it's only because of the color. I lean towards turquoise characters, so she stands out for me, just for that reason. I wish she was an adult though, but whatever.
I dont think she really can be used as a support unless you have Sac Frags or C6. Her shield duration is too short for most dps characters. Hope they buff her shield duration. Maybe make it like Laylas or Kiraras.

Are you talking about Lan Yan? Brother, at base C0. She shields, she provides VV and she provides TTDS. That's a very good defensive unit Then she also has mechanics where if her shield gets hit by an element, it becomes more efficient against that element. That's amazing against tulpa, coppelia and such
