This demo scared the hell out of me as a kid. I remember thinking the Genome Soldiers were Storm Troopers and I also remember that for a very long time that my brother and I thought these games took place during World War II. Back before we paid very close attention to the game’s plots.
I had a different demo disc but that is where I first discovered Metal Gear Solid. It wouldn't be till another 5 years later that I found my old demo disc, replayed the game demo, and went out that day and bought it. My demo let you play till you got to the DARPA Chief if I'm not mistaken. I've never been so excited to play a game.
Damn! Mine ended as soon as you crawled in the first duct by the helipad just like in the vid. Pretty sure mine was in Japanese as well, but it’s been so long it’s hard to remember. Might have even been on the same disc the one who posted the vid was using

This demo is burned into my brain clearer than most childhood memories, for some reason I never lost my ability to ask "Whats a russian gunship doing here!?" In Japanese.
My demo ended in the vent. There was a cardboard box up on the stairs behind a column where the upper vent is in the heliport and thermal goggles at the left of the heliport
I remember how I sat infront of the TV and asked myself why the game didnt continued at 14:02 I thought maybe when I kill all guards without getting spotted it continues but it was never the case :D

Man that demo was magic to me. I played it about 1000 times. I was happier with that demo than nowadays kids with Iphone 7,8,9,10 and Ipad.
