The hardest part of having dogs is the goodbye. It is heart-wrenching to see Callie alone, for you and your family as well, I am sure. You're an intelligent individual, Tyler. You know what needs to be done. Callie needs a friend.
Your shop was a little empty today with out your welding buddy.💔 Maybe the cat will come in and keep you in line lol. Take care my friend love to the family ❤️🙏🏼🦋
Good morning. Cali sitting there alone made me feel sad. She probably misses her buddy. The pig feeder is a big deal. Your kind of work speaks for itself. It shows you think things through. Anyway ----- excuse me, the comments all seemed to be going in the same direction, then someone asks 'how tall are you?'. All I could do was burst out laughing. If I offended anyone, I apologize. 😂❤
Don't worry about the haters telling you you did not care about your dog. My old dog dies a while back and I never told anyone for a long time. I just could not talk about him without tearing up.
If you build a towable unroller, I would consider a frame similar to a uhaul car dolly. Along with repurposing, I would consider using a pickup bed flat topper for the lid to the pig feeder. Light weight and will have overhang.
The way you told the story of what happened to sweet Belly was totally appropriate. Honestly, I don't know how you were able to get the words out. Don't pay any attention to negative comments. Callie looks sad, too.
I enjoy seeing you use those C clamps in clever ways ex: putting the welded panel on the first corner. So smart. You’re not lazy, that’s why you have so many projects. And creative folks always have more projects than time. Keep it up FTR.
With the pig feeder - you might need a way of letting it draining it out when rain water gets in there. Also possibly a way to close off the grain feed so if the grain in the bottom gets water logged to the point you need to remove it, you can shut off the grain feed and clean / hose out the tray.
After watching your last video I was wandering why you didn’t buy a bail unroller until I looked at the cost and that the dealers were wanting. I’m sure with your skill and knowledge you won’t have any problem with making it yourself
OMGosh, you make it look so easy but I'm sure it's not. Such talent and feeding the pigs is going to be so much easier! Yes, I see Callie sitting there alone and I miss Bellie!!
We have enjoyed using a tow behind style that was homemade out of an old dumpster trailer. It is easier to get in and out of some of our pastures pulling behind a 4-wheeler, truck, tractor, Atv or almost anything and driven by anyone that can drive if health keeps me or my dad from doing it. Three-point unrollers could be good if you need traction to get to the pasture or just do not want to fight backing/pulling a trailer
Good strategy of finishing the projects you've already started, but so human nature to start something new before the other projects are complete. I often do the same - start something new before the previously started projects are complete. Will be nice to see the feeder in use. Nice work, Tyler.
Very much enjoyed watching you make the new pig feeder! You are such a great welder and innovator. I love your welding projects! I know you and your family miss Belly! We do, too. Ah the pig feeder, they got to eat (a lot) after all there pigs (name applies). I bet a shipyard or aerospace company would love to have Tyler join them (not enough good welders/fabricators out there).
Love your shop videos....well, all of them. You are my favorite channel by far. I'm a cat person - nice to see your new barn cat! - but losing a pet is hurtful no matter what sort of beast. I've been feeling sad for you and your family.
Gotta finish the pig feeder! 😄. Definitely agree that you need to get bottom of pan off the ground! Looks great! My granddaddy and daddy had hogs. They bought their pig feeders with the lids. I remember the bang of the lids when the pigs were eating.
I use to watch my dad make all kinds of things with wood and all his tools and his bare hands. I love watching things come together and how your mind works in creating things! It’s so great to watch and I could watch you all day! Callie is a beautiful yellow Lab🥰❤️btw 😉 see you next time!
Love from Texas to FTR. Belli’s passing broke my heart as well. Sad for Callie as well. She misses her running buddy. Don’t be afraid to get her a new friend. You both need it. I’m a farmer as well and I love watching your channel. Keep your chin up. Haters gonna hate.
On the hand rollers, the first one I built was like Greg Judy's since then I have built three hydraulic hey rollers that attach to the back of the tractor (one for me and two for my neighbor). I much prefer the hydraulic 3-point hitch type. A lot less work when it's time to feed. Now mind you it snows here in Western Kentucky (I'm actually originally from Huntington Beach California) but not too bad. The cold was a big motivator building the 3 point type not to mention it was an easier build. Good luck and happy farming from The slice of Heaven ranch here in Western Kentucky.
Oh for goodness sakes! What kind of person criticizes others on how they grieve for their pet. That’s uncalled for and inappropriate. Again, I’m so sorry for your loss. ❤

Callie's sad face is breaking my heart... then I saw the ending of the video and your sadness completely broke it. Laying here trying to type through my tears. Normally I praise your fabrication, which was amazing here, but the grief was palpable and downplayed even the most well thought out and executed fabrication project. Praying for you, and all of us, hurting at Bellie's loss. I sure wish that someone could tell me, with absolute certainty, if animals go to heaven.
Always love watching you work hope those piggies appreciate all that hard work lol thanks for letting us all spend time with you in your busy day , you will be all caught up in no time on all your projects ❤
Regarding your bale unrolled, I would encourage you to build the 3-pt. Unroller that can be used with your tractor. I’ve used one for the past 7 years and have no regrets.
Other option would be a hydra bed on your truck. The hydra bed would be way more versatile. Guys around here use them to haul bales to remote pastures(can carry 2 bales), use them to either set bales in bale rings or feeders or unroll, also use them to lift 4 wheeler on to pickup bed, some guys put hydraulic driven post hole auger on them
Sorry about Bellie not your fault we miss her as well. Hay unroller.... I have one it’s maid by Parkhurst in Missouri Its a three point unit I love it and would be a great one to reference when building one. Tyler your welcome to contact me if you like.
We have a small farm with some small slope to it. We bought a Greg Judy bale unroller and have loved it and feel it has been worth every penny. Our hay guy makes his rolls as large as he can, so sometimes they are a little bigger than 6'. We pull it behind a Can Am side by side. One of the best benefits of it is that you are not having to take a heavy piece of equipment into your field to unroll the hay so putting less impact on your fields.
Pig feeder looks great! You have many fantastic ideas so it’s understandable that you want to get started on them, but yes have to finish the others first, lol. I hope you get the info that will help you decide which hay tractor you want to make. I do not understand people who watch TH-cam videos and take a very normal reaction to something and try to make it something bad. I wish you and your family well and look forward to your next video. I also pray for you and your family to have strength to put up with those who are unkind about something they know nothing about. You and Brie are very kind people and these people do not really know you, they see a few minutes on a video and make a judgement. I’ve heard and seen it on other TH-cam videos and I just do not understand it at all. Be strong! We are on your side.
Tyler, you will obviously be aware of what Matt uses for unrolling bales. Why not put similar on the truck you have. It would be a good use for the truck
Or, you can run a bar through the center of your hay bale. (Hay bale lays on the sides, not ends) It needs a loop on each end. Attach a cable to each end of the bar. Run the cable to the tractor ball or four wheeler ball. It needs a spacer between the bale and the ball to hold the cable out as wide as the bale. We used a 2X4, but I think we'll make something stronger this year. Then pull forward and your bale unrolls. It was an idea on a TH-cam video that I found. Very inexpensive. But of course your tractor can carry out a bale, but your 4 wheeler can't. So there's that. I'm very sorry about Bellie. It hurts your heart to lose a good dog.
When I had cows and rolled out the hay I had a 3-pt unroller from Everything Attachments. I'm anxious to see what you build. I think a pull type would be fun to watch you build...
All I would say about the bale unroller is, seems like the Greg Judy style, since it could be pulled with a lighter vehicle, wouldn’t cause as much compaction of the fields
Would you consider a three point bale unroller that is a little different… basically you have three spikes mounted on a 12”disc and your disc is attached to a hydraulic motor. You can then rotate it either way to suit which way the bale was made. The 12” disc would have to be supported of course but that would be no problem for you. It could also be used on the front loader. Greetings from Ireland 🇮🇪
I think the towable bale roller would be more versatile. You could pre-load the trailer and have it staged and ready to go with whatever vehicle you need for any chore at hand. Watever style you chose I look forward to the build videos!
The first thing I notice about the new pig feeder is that the bottom should not be on the ground and then you said the same thing. It will be interesting to watch how you prevent that from happening and also, are you concerned about the feeder being moved by the pigs or is there going to be enough weight in the feeder to prevent that from happening. If so then you will need to keep the feeder somewhat full. Anyway, I like your planning skill and adventure to build useful items for your operation.
I think you're wise to put some kind of skids under the bottom tray of the feeder, to keep the bottom tray off the ground, to keep it from rusting through prematurely. Skids made from the well pipe will probably work as well as anything. Do you have a pipe bender to put just a little up bend on the ends, to make them a little like skis? I think it'll be plenty heavy enough that pigs won't push it far! Don't make thise skids too high, or little freshly weaned ones will have trouble reaching over the lip.
All looks super strong and a challenge for the pigs to destroy it! I think your biggest challenge is going to be how to control the flow rate from the hopper to the pan. A possible solution to that problem could be an adjustable sleeve on the outside of the outlet tube. Made slightly larger than the outlet tube, it could be slid up or down to adjust the amount of feed flow to the pan. Give it some thought, easier than cutting or welding to adjust that gap!
IMO the 3 point unroller is the best i have 3 of them on different farms i just leave it attached to the tractor all winter I also have a bale bed unroller on my truck which works nice if it’s not to muddy or there’s not too much snow on the ground but if there is that’s where the tractors work great
A plastic pallet for a lid. Or A piece of 1/2 square of starboard. It is plastic Marine sheet. Stable. On a set of hinges will keep the rodents out. Light weight, waterproof, won't rot, and sun tolerant.

Auto correct, sorry. Bale unroller.
Other option would be a hydra bed on your truck.
The hydra bed would be way more versatile. Guys around here use them to haul bales to remote pastures(can carry 2 bales), use them to either set bales in bale rings or feeders or unroll, also use them to lift 4 wheeler on to pickup bed, some guys put hydraulic driven post hole auger on them
Farm & Hammer has a bale unroller on his truck.
I love mine, saves alot of time and gets the job done
Hello from Washington state.
Are you going to get a new friend for Callie soon? R.I.P. Bellie
Sorry about Bellie not your fault we miss her as well. Hay unroller.... I have one it’s maid by Parkhurst in Missouri Its a three point unit I love it and would be a great one to reference when building one. Tyler your welcome to contact me if you like.
I was totally devastated to hear about Belly.
Great job I would love to see you and Donna farm work together 🐖🐖🐖🐖🐖
Any time I can have multiple options, I will go in that direction every time 😊
Good morning FT, have a great day.
I’ve had to make those types of deals with myself as well!
Your welding skills are amazing. I love watching you build anything.
Tyler, you will obviously be aware of what Matt uses for unrolling bales. Why not put similar on the truck you have. It would be a good use for the truck
Welding is never boring. Your creativity is amazing. Thanks for sharing.
That's amazing you have the talent to build anything.
Wow, great work, Tyler. Only one cat ? 🐈⬛
Thanks buddy!😊
IMO the 3 point unroller is the best i have 3 of them on different farms i just leave it attached to the tractor all winter I also have a bale bed unroller on my truck which works nice if it’s not to muddy or there’s not too much snow on the ground but if there is that’s where the tractors work great
Amazing! I really enjoyed watching you fabricate this feeder (I had to turn off the sound when you were running the tools) Thank you!
A plastic pallet for a lid.
Or
A piece of 1/2 square of starboard. It is plastic Marine sheet. Stable. On a set of hinges will keep the rodents out. Light weight, waterproof, won't rot, and sun tolerant.
WELCOME 🙏
