The MDA Labor Day Telethon was an enchanting yearly variety show that ran for half a century. Hosted for many years by Jerry Lewis, the telethon featured top stars from the world of music, comedy, and Broadway and was like no other show on earth.

Wow! There I am in 1988! Im on far left in the first line of dancers in the orange and white can can skirts! I still get chills when I see us performing this famous Can Can! Such wonderful memories! I had just turned 19!

Would loved to have seen the lady dancers dressed in black stockings and heavy duty suspenders as was used a few years ago ..... why the change ?

In the first troupe the girl with the briefest undies gets thrown around the most.
Trash. Cancan without going between girls legs - its NOT cancan.
There was a point where a male dancer appeared from between a girl’s legs. I also liked the part where the men held the women from behind and appeared to be waving their dresses
That section was the 'pony kicks' as we called them. They were taken out of the show when the bean counters showed up and decided the acrobats were getting hurt from them which was increasing their health care insurance costs. Grrrr...LOVED them and they were always an applause getter!!!! @@silva777
