Hi I tried it to use it on a spline for scattering but was not able to find how to do it. Can u send me link of documentation where it clearly mentioned how to use ia scatter on a spline.
I admit it took me a few minutes to figure out too, check out this video from the devs at around 3.45min they start using splines - th-cam.com/video/6u5mIGt9jGk/w-d-xo.html You can click on the spline points to move them, to shape your curve, and right click to add new points
Yes I haven't tried it yet, but it seems to do things like this. However this plugin might still have an advantage to do some specific actions. I will test this new procedural generation and see what it does/doesn't do and how it compares.
@@luigitasso1894 Actually you can paint foliage on meshes too, but not on nanite meshes. Same thing with IA Scatter, I just tested it. So they have the same limitations in this sense, but they have a very different approach. Foliage mode allows a lot of precise, hand painted scenery while IA Scatter is way more flexible and has cool features. Depends on what you are working on
It doesn’t looks to be exactly same ; for what they showed UE5.2 « fills » when with IA Scatter you can « spline » with more precision (with more specific creative needs).
thanks for your video! i finally got this plugin :) just one question. can it be rotated and moved location in level sequence? I wanna make my scene like Inception moive. would be really helpful!
The Fooliage tool was not ment to work like this. It is more like a brush in photoshop. Yes, you can adjust bursh settings but it will have no effect on painted objects. Just like in PS. If you want that use acotrs like GrassType which generate objects for specific landscape layers.
Great video! I'm having a problem in 5.11 when I bring in the blueprint there's a white square that says the wor BAD in red and nothing appears. Any idea what could it be?
I'm thinking of making more but since PCG is coming, most people will be interested in this instead. I don't want you to rely on me for a purchase, but the devs have a very detailed overview of everything it can do on their channel. It's not really a tutorial but I'm sure it can help you, it's relatively intuitive (more than PCG for sure). You can wait for a sale, I bought the plugin for 3$, for this price you can't really go wrong !
Unreal's standard Procedural Foliage Volume does pretty much the same thing. It is non-destructible workflow tool that let you scatter everything you want inside a volume.
I covered 5.2 procedural tool on another video. I think the plugin can still be interesting as a plug-and-play solution. PCG needs a bit of figuring out and it’s still very new
Le mec est chaud
Excellent product & well resented! Thnx for the heads-up
Merci je connaissais pas le plugin, je vois deja plein d'utilisation ou ca peux me sauver du temps, will try!
Great video. Easy to understand and a good overview. Keep 'em coming, I'm all signed up.
Thank you, I'm preparing the next video right now ! ✌️

great video. feels like you are making content for years
Thank you, I try my best to make them as polished as possible ! ✌️
amazing!
hello,i cant find the parameters cheatsheet ,could you give me something new?
Doest it work with landscape only? Or it can scatter on custom geometry too?
Procedural generation in 5.2 does this right? Where you can change after you place the objects into the environment

With procedural foliage you’re limited to scattering on a landscape. This tool can scatter more freely it seems. Excited to try it😊

That’s a good question, I need to try this
@@VLRN_ would be perfect if you make tutorial for that :-)
can you send the the sheet, icant get the sheet

thanx you!
Alors toi malgré le très bon anglais t’es français (?) 😁
Une tuerie, hâte de tester cet après-midi !

I got the same thing. Is it meant to be compatible in 5.1?
There is not many tutorials on how to use this which is putting me off buying it. Will you being doing more?

😎
this plugin definitely has more options and much easier to work with compared to the default UE foliage volume.
it's litterally 3 lines of a script x___x
in 5.2 this plugin just gets completely destroyed
I'll use this plugin in the foreseeable future even with 5.2 being out. It's just so much easier to use.
This plugin was useful until 5.2 came out. They have an inbuilt procedural tool which has more options than this plugin

@@VLRN_ fair point
what does this inbuilt tool specifically refer to?
