When you started that "Savage and Undercover feel like a punch to the face" metaphor I immediately thought of Higher feeling like someone cupping your face in both of their hands and staring into your eyes. Both forms of contact leave you breathless for completely different reasons
I think a good metaphor for it is that it's like water, no matter how powerful and destructive it can be it's also like a caress, the way it can be both suffocating and calming at the same time, that's how this song feels to me, if I'm going to be dramatic about it lol

You pretty much touched on all the little things i love about this song. I love how you appreciate the instrumentals and the quiet moments. “Grasping your hand compassionately” - great description, actually! Haha. Even though this is (generally) an energetic song, there’s a sense of poignancy in the slower moments that kind of wrings your heart just a little. Especially the part when Jun sings “don’t be sorry” which you pointed out. I love this song & your reaction^^
This track is just so gorgeous and it's moving in a way I usually associate with sad songs, but I don't think this one is sad, but it has the emotional impact of one.
Thir earlier stuff is bold in its brashness, ut Higher feels equally intense in its real and very raw vulnerability. It feels like leaving someone you don't want to, like letting them go for their benefit than rather you wanting to leave them.
I was a bit surprised when I listened to Higher after their harsher, loud songs like Undercover and Favorite Boys. it's just so calming, I am in love with it. (also bluehair Sehyoon owns my soul.)

In the mermaid legend, if they kiss a human they become water bubbles. I interpret this part to mean that even if he turns into a bubble for kissing this someone, which would be Choice, he would not regret it. Many parts of the video show bubbles of water around the members, as if they were turning into this. The song itself, I interpreted as an impossible love story. Even though they love each other, they can never be together. Because the mermaid would run out of air, suffocate (like the Wow part in 0:44 of their video) and the human would drown (Donghun part in 0:31 of their video). This is why throughout the song it is said: "calling you, but you don't answer". each part of the song has its own interpretation. Chan and KBK are completely connected in this video. In the 1:54 of their video Chan appears with a ball in his mouth that soon after appears in KBK's hand, and then Chan appears swallowing this little ball. And at 2:34, KBK appears not only holding this ball, but with it tied on a rope, as if it were his. At 2:19, KBK appears behind Chan (it seems to be the two of them) doing something. This made me think of the story of The Little Mermaid from Hans Christian Anderson. Chan is Ariel and KBK is Ursula. This little ball maybe is Chan's voice trapped, because he asked KBK to be human and had to give him the voice ("calling you, but you don't answer") or it is this little ball that will make him transform into a human. so much that there is a room, which appears for the first time at 0:39 of their video, that only KBK and Chan have been in. I'm so glad they decided to comeback with Higher and show this side of the group to the wider audience.
I really love Wow’s voice and his parts in this are just beautiful. All of the guys have great voices, but he’s got this deeper, breathy quality that’s a great contrast to the other members’ higher vocals. Also, I laughed at your “why are your abs out” comment, but really, the abs have been out since TMH era. At this point I think it’s part of their concept.

You would also know that after my break is over, I intend to do catch up videos on many of the mvs that I've missed and guess what! That includes Brave Girls. Also, even if I wasn't on break, I'm a human being not a machine and can't be expected to react to everything the second it comes out. Maybe manage your expectations and consider that getting angry over a stranger on the internet not posting a reaction to one of your faves, is perhaps not the best use of your energy :)
