I worked on that plane when it was built. Retired from Boeing 6 years ago. That plane was for the most part had original Galleys, sidewalls, ceiling panels. The seats and carpets are different then originally installed in 1997 which is no surprise
@mikeske9777 wow that's really interesting ! Once I had the occasion to fly on one of the last 747-400 ever prodiuced (maybe the last) with China Airlines and it was the only time I saw a 747-400 with a 777 like interior with wave shape overhead bins, I forgot how Boeing used to call these kind of overhead bins. Do you have the name ?
@@MillionMilesMarc Boeing Signature Interior was the name of the 777 style interior. The interiors kind of the 747-400 ER and the 747-8 adopted the larger style stow bins of the 777 but some key differences was the in how they were installed in the plane. The 747-8 passenger aircraft were slightly longer then the 747-400 and the -400ER was only sold to Qantas Airline with the 747-8 They were I believed sold to Luftansa, Air China and Korean Airlines. The 747 was just basically ran out of date with inefficient design that just could not match up with a modern twin engine aircraft.
UA have started a new flight service from SFO to Christchurch in New Zealand, 3 days per week, but only seasonal though during our summer., i believe they will re-start these flight's again in our spring 2024
Even when the United Airlines Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft is parked at the gate with 2 jetbridges, the gate SHOULD use BOTH jetbridges for passenger loading and unloading to ease the passenger traffic for both boarding and deplaning processes.
This is a ER. The non ER just does not have the range for sfo-icn. The ER is equipped with the 4098 and the normal is the 4070. The GE90 can also be found on the 200er .
I-flew with United from LAX to HKG on a good 10 year old 747-4000 but knowing about United’s maintenance issues i would never get aboard such an old plane, at least for extended long haul flights ?
that seat feels hard and uncomfortable for 1 hours. I took that plane from Newark to Beijing in 2019. My back was hurting. Did you check in any bags. Were they strict with the weight?
Very nice, soft and gentle video, night panoramic views are splendid and intrigueing. The only thing is that it would be nice to see the author's face and hear a couple of comment phrases in genera though I understand that Marc is willing to make a sense of a self- trip for each viewer. Appreciate!
Its so funny, would think United would at least align catering w the destination country, like beef bulgogi would be more appropriate. Nonetheless, great video mate! 👏 🎉
United pilots be flying them planes like they stole them! The flight on United from Amman to Washington DC lasted 3 hours I swear the pilots we had, they worked for Spirit airlines no doubt they were flying Fast and the Furious style man! Dude that should’ve been a 13 hour flight and it was 3 hours idk what they did but they sped through that turbulence handle it like a boss ok I was like I wanted a long relaxing flight and it was just 3 hours needless to say I was thoroughly disappointed however we all landed safe and sound and I’m grateful to God for that but still….the rush the speed umm United pilots please fly the scenic route next time please🙏🏻
That old bird looks good for its age. Good review but would have been nice to review the food more if it was tasty, good. average or bad, Just a suggestion and thanks
How tall are you? I'm 5'11" and I'm hoping that's enough leg room for me. You don't seem to have much leg room to me; so your height will help me determine if I need to upgrade to Economy Plus. Thank you so much for sharing.
I love how American carriers keeps their old planes very well maintained and their interiors very modern looking :)
Not enough leg room😢 compared to ANA and Japan Airlines
@@kikodiamsay3138 but delta is gud 32 in is fine
besides the fact that they keep breaking down

That's very interesting ! You worked at the Everett factory ?
@@MillionMilesMarc Yes I worked there from 1987 until I retired in 2017. I worked 747 and the 777 ;Ines installing the interiors on the aircraft

Interesting. I had thought UA only had daytime flights to ICN.

The PW4098 are used on the 777-200 non-ER which is what that is, but that doesn’t make it any less awesome!

excellent flight trip review Marc. The only thing I didn't like was that the flight was whole at nighttime.By the way How old was that ER?
Thank you! It was 26 years old

Did you order Halal or was that just one of the options?
It is either the halal butter chicken or no meat pasta. Every United trip report I watch is the same
How much did you pay to fly United Airlines to Seoul?

I take it that you didn't get champagne 🍾 or water 💦
Bon vol sauf le repas qui avait l air pas terrible
Food looks bad and there is only one snack option in the galley...
United food sucks!

Hi, I'm 1:88
@@MillionMilesMarc I'm not sure what you mean by 1:88? Can you please write it in words?? Thanks so much.
One meter eighty eight
@@MillionMilesMarc Thanks so much. That's about 6 feet 1 inch. This is helpful.
