I think Hayes left the boy band and went solo because they were holding him back. He was the true genius there in that group. Ollie and the groupie girls had a negative affect on his relationship with Anne. They were immature and selfish and he was done with the group and left them. He began doing lots of songwriting and becoming a super solo artist. Hayes was mature and focused on finding his soulmate in five years. I hope there’s a sequel so we can see the rest of their love story wedding careers perhaps children. ❤
I agree. Hayes had evolved so much beyond the antics of the boy band. And when he met Solene, he fell in love ....the kind of lobe that lasts a lifetime. She was validated and protected...respected and precious to him. He didn't act like a 24 year old and it makes sense that he would find love with an older woman. I don't think that he took any "connections" he might have had during the 5 years. Neither did she. When I listened to the words of The Idea of You, they fit perfectly for how both of them survived during those 5 years. And then there was the watch....
I’ve watched this movie 4 times now ,I’m on my 5th ,I just noticed something in that torrid love scene in the hotel ,the significance of that watch throughout the movie ,but especially that love scene ,it gave me goosebumps.
