They should have had a Farewell Tour in 2016, and then actually broken up.... with the possibility of a reunion in the future. Bad enough that they lost Zayn, but this slow falling apart - a hit album with no tour, a break with no planned end - is sad. They're the most popular group in the world. They shouldn't fade away like this.

When they started, they were kids, so it was fine that they didn't play instruments and didn't dance. They were 5 extremely cute boys who were like amateur singers that won the lottery (Liam was the only one with vocal training... the others had lots of raw potential but no real experience - they didn't even know what a harmony was!) In 18 months, or 2 years or whenever, even Harry will be in his mid-20s. Louis will be in his latish 20s and will be the dad of a toddler... and the other boys could have kids by then, too. With or without solo careers, the group can't ever be the same. I just wish they'd admit this, instead of leaving millions of fans waiting and hoping that this "hiatus" is the same as an extended summer vacation that will end in the fall when school starts again.
+Sparklemotion101 What are you talking about? This is a well deserved break from 5 years of non stop hard work. 4 world wide tours & 5 albums in 5 years is a lot to earn them this break. I'm pretty sure when they come back they'll return to their loyal fan base you're acting as if an artist taking a break is something that has never been done before. They may be a bit older but so will their fans. They'll still be their charming selves but instead of 'cute boys' they'll be handsome mature men. Their music will be better due to the fact they have a lot of time to make some instead of doing a whole album in a couple months like they usually do. They'll come back stronger and we'll be ready for them

We'll see what happens next, but the only sure prediction is that 1D as the fans knew it is over, and this was the boys decision.

Hey.. it's been 7 years. The year us 2023.. and well i have some news for you. Ok so it's confirmed that they didn't renew their contracts with syco.. and are now solo artists. And even the boys themselves don't know if they are or see themselves ever going back to one direction. They seem really happy now, so pls make sure to listens to their albums and singles. All though I miss them very much. I think its time we let go of them or the thought of them ever coming back in fact.
Have you noticed that when they put their arms around each other while listening to their last messages they all facing at the monitor and their backs were at the audience, Harry was holding Louis hand. They didn't hug but Harry held Louis hand, that was enough to show his love towards Louis while the enemy narrative was spreading. Who can deny the true love of this two. They said they were * MORTAL ENEMIES* but not afraid in front of so many audiences they were holding hands. Love and miss these two beautiful souls. 💕👬💙💚💞

olivia reeder yeah I know... but still.... I mean. I was 9 in 2015 en two years later i thaught that they were still together but then I found out they weren’t. I’m Dutch so I didn’t understand everything that’s why I missed the fact that they went on a hiatus. And I was waiting 2 years for a show because my parents told me I could go when I was 11. But when I turned 11 I found out they were on a hiatus for 2 years already. Now I’m 14 and still waiting... but now for them to come back together.... (have been listening since I was 4)
