"Rumours" was written and recorded during a period where the two couples in the band, Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham and John and Christine McVie, were in the throes of breakups and divorce. The energy of those trials led to some of the best rock music committed to tape. Buckingham, Nicks and Christine McVie all share lead vocal duties on this and most other Mk. II albums. "Go Your Own Way" is written from Lindsey Buckingham's perspective about the state of his relationship with Stevie Nicks. At turns he asks her to come back to him and accuses her of shacking up with someone else while he's still in love with her. It's Buckingham laying his own feelings bare for Stevie Nicks to see. It didn't work, of course. They still broke up. "Rumours" is worth listening to all the way through. The stories it tells show that even a group of people going through heartbreak can channel that in to powerful songs with some truly creative musical moments.
This song is magic. I'm 56 years old. When I'm driving down the road on a beautiful spring day, with the windows open and this song comes on, I'm instantly a teenager again. ;)
This entire album was written while band members were having problems with their relationships, which made for an amazing album. Imagine singing backup on a breakup song that was written about you.
THE classic example "The Winner Takes It All" sang by Agnetha as lead singer from Abba and written by Bjorn standing next to her about their divorce though he claimed it was a co-incidence. If you see the Official video of it on TH-cam she is either a brilliant Actress or it was not co-incidental, my friend.
You could spend weeks on Fleetwood Mac. Some of the must-listen-to: Gypsy, Rhiannon, Don't Stop (thinking about tomorrow), Tusk, You make Lovin' Fun, Gold Dust Woman, Silver Springs . . . . .
and that isn't even getting into pre Nicks and Buckingham. The early stuff with Peter Green and a little later Bob Welch while different is still really good music.
Kelly LaFlash when you said spend weeks I thought you meant their story! And how the band's interrelationships is essential to the music. It would take forever to explain all of this!
Am I the only one that's profoundly sad that Lindsay was fired? After everything they've endured; drugs, infidelity within the group, etc.... They were never supposed to break "The Chain".
I was sad to hear he was kicked out and fired. But this band was always an entire full keg of Nitro just waiting to go off. Lindsey i always felt was the most bitter beside Christine and possibly that animosity still existed well beyond what it should of and everyone was tired of it. I don't really know, but i cant say i didn't see this coming.
This is a guy ... Lindsey Buckingham .. he is the male singer of the three leads. Honestly, you need to watch some Fleetwood Mac live. Lindsey is an incredible guitarist, and you really see that in live performances. When he is not with the band they need two guitarists to replace him. He is super-talented. John is great on bass. And of course Mick on drums is unique on drums. And the vibe between Lindsey and Stevie on stage is intense
This is Lindsey buckingham . He’s the lead guitarist and Stevie sings to him when she’s singing breakup songs. Christi Mckie plays synth and she sings songs as well . They all sing really . Mick fleetwood ( Fleetwood Mac ) is the drummer . Don’t forget that base player
Correction: Christine McVie writes, plays keyboards, and sings songs (writing and performing the most #1 hits the group has had). The rest also perform.
Lindsey and Stevie wrote songs back and forth about their relationship ending. She wrote Dreams (that's your Ocean Spray song!) , he wrote Go Your own way, she wrote Silver Springs, then they performed them intensely on stage. It was a very interesting time.
Good times. Hey, I just wrote a song about how shitty our relationship was. If you and the drummer can stop banging each other for a few minutes I think we should go into studio and record it. I promise it won't awkward for anybody.
I think the worst was Christine McVie cheating on her husband then writing a song about how great the sex was with him, and singing it on stage with said husband right there.
What happens if you lock 4 people that used to love each other and then hate each other in a recording studio for a few months? If they don't kill each other first they write Rumors one of the greatest albums of all time, each song different, each song a hit
@@badplay156 I think Boondock meant that you had 4 band members in the middle of breakups with each other...the McVies and Lindsay and Stevie...when they were recording the album.
Many of their songs are about the relationships and affairs of the band members. Lindsey and Stevie were HS sweethearts, Christine and John McVie (bass) were married. They all had turbulent relationships that resulted in great music. Fleetwood Mac started as a blues band, went through many personnel changes over the years, and Stevie and Lindsey joined in the 70s and they became Superstars. I've seen them several times in concert and also have seen Stevie since she also had an amazing solo career.
Listen to the entire Rumors album. There are 5 people in the band. Steve Nicks is the lead singer, but lead vocals were also performed by Christine McVie and Lindsey Buckingham, rotating for various songs. The other members are Mick Fleetwood and John McVie. The very original members in the late 60s were Mick Fleetwood, Peter Green, Jeremy Spencer, Danny Kirwan, and some others. They hit their stride and true fame with the Rumors album and the 5 first mentioned.
One of the most beautiful love songs ever... Christie McVie (Fleetwood Mac), playing piano and singing "Songbird." There is a live version easy to find.
Stevie nicks usually gets the lion's share of the credit for Fleetwood Mac's success. And while she was certainly a great singer, song lyricist, and of course beautiful woman, to me it was Lindsey Buckingham who was the individual most responsible for their superstardom in the last version of the group.
Absolutely. Lindsey was the one responsible for steering that ship after Rumors. If not for him, there's no "Tusk" or "Tango in the Night." While Stevie was busy getting trashed, Lindsey was the creative force for the band into the late 80's.
This album is right there with Boston and Bad Company's debuts, Eagles Hotel California and Floyd's Dark Side Of The Moon....These albums filled the radio waves in the 70's
"Go Your Own Way." Otherwise known as: "How to write a bitter song about your horrible breakup with your girlfriend and make her sing the backup vocals on it for 30 years"...
Stevie wouldn’t sing it if she didn’t want to. She said in an interview, when she broke it off with Lindsey, she told him she wasn’t quitting Fleetwood Mac and neither was he. That Fleetwood Mac was bigger than both of them. So they made it work as they sang their feelings at each other.
In fairness though, she did a couple of break up related tunes where he sang back up. So it was a fair trade. Made some of the best music ever recorded because of those break ups though.

If you guys like Fleetwood Mac I would also suggest Stevie Nicks solo, her duet with the late great Tom Petty: "Stop Draggin' My Heart Around." One of my favorite songs ever and the video is absolutely iconic.
@@Drescher1984 They were dating before they joined Fleetwood Mac, and before they formed Buckingham / Knicks, which was prior to Fleetwood Mac. Mic Fleetwood or John McVie, can't remember offhand, was in the recording studio that Buckingham / Knicks had just recorded their album in. It was playing, and they loved the guitar work. They were in need of a guitarist at the time. So they asked the producer who the guitarist was. They contacted Lindsey to play guitar. They didn't want Stevie, since they had Christine , who has a beautiful voice. She mainly sang backup, and the band was mainly a male lead group. They wanted Lindsey for guitar and vocals. Lindsey told them that he wouldn't sign on without Stevie being brought aboard, and that they were a package deal. Fleetwood Mac had a bit of success before Lindsey and Stevie, so Lindsey was really making a big bet that they'd take both of them. Well they decided to take both of them, and for her to sing backup with Christine. That didn't last long. She wound up being the primary vocalist. Lindsey was the primary songwriter, recording engineer, and really the manager in a way of the band. I'm glad it worked out that way, we got some great music.
Fleetwood Mac was actually a British blues band before they overhauled and reinvented themselves with Stevie Nicks to become the "Fleetwood Mac" most people know. Their blues stuff is 🔥🔥🔥
Fleetwood Mac is probably my favorite group. Thank you. Realize that Stevie Nicks is not the only Singer. There is also Lindsay Buckingham and Christine McVie, who sang on this song. Christine was the Keyboard player,. The Pic on the Album is Stevie and Mick Fleetwood, an amazing drummer..
I once worked at a car rental place and when I was cleaning a car that was turned in overnight, they left a fleetwood Mac greatest hits CD in..couldn’t get ahold of them so I kept it for myself 😂 it’s still in the player 4 years later, I listen to it every day and still never get tired of their music!
Fleetwood Mac has 3 “lead” singers. Stevie Nicks, Lindsey Buckingham, and Christine McVie. Also one note: Lindsey doesn’t use a pick to play guitar, only his fingers. Amazing
Three singers actually. There’s Stevie Nicks, Lindsey Buckingham and Christine McVie. Do you want to hear a beautiful song, that should make you cry, isten to Songbird by Fleetwood Mac
Fleetwood Mac's Christine McVie sings a song called "Say you love me" it's a great song! it's a fun song ! You'll love it!! you'll also love Bruce Springsteen - Rosalita (come out tonight) (Phoenix 78) love you guys!
There are 3 singers in this version of Fleetwood Mac. The lead singer on this one is Lindsey Buckingham who was the guitar player in the Landslide video. Pretty much all of the popular songs by Stevie and Lindsey from this time are about their breakup, which was happening during the writing of their album Rumours from 1977.
This album is immense. It was like the Frampton Comes Alive in 76-77? You could not go one day without hearing it being played on the car radio or blaring from someone's apartment. I will never forget the first time I heard it at a party in the posh part of town. I was 19 and we were sitting in this huge back yard in the summer eating from a huge communal bowl of popcorn and passing a bottle of Jack Daniels around. I went out the next day and bought the albumn. Memories.
Y'all did it again! They are and will be one of the GOATs. The album, Rumors, is iconic! It's all about the members breaking up and sleeping with each other!
My sister bought the album when it came out in the 70s. I can still remember her bringing it home and literally being blown away by the music. The entire album is just such a work of originality and the highest form of creativity.
Love this whole album....an absolute Masterpiece... Stevie Nicks, Lindsay Buckingham and Christine McVie were the lead singers....the band also included John McVie, who was married to to Christine and Mick Fleetwood...Stevie Nicks was involved with the lead singer here....by the time the album came out, both couples had broken up...
This is a group of people some of whom who have been married to each other in the past. Stevie Nicks, Lindsey Buckingham and Christine McVie are the main songwriters, and traditionally, the person who wrote a song is the one who sang the lead vocal on the albums. The three people I mentioned all have solo albums of their own, and there's one album with Christine McVie and Lindsey Buckingham which is really good too.
So, there's a lot of things to explain about Fleetwood Mac. They had a LONG history and the only consistent members are John McVie (The Mac) and Mick Fleetwood (The Fleetwood). The first phase of the band was Peter Green (Lead Vocals, Guitar), Jeremy Spencer (Guitar, Percussion), Danny Kirwan (Guitar), John McVie (Bass) and Mick Fleetwood (drums). Great songs from this era are "Oh Well (Part 1)", "Albatross", "Black Magic Woman", and "Green Manalishi (With The Three Prong Crown)". The three guitarists left for various reasons in the early 70s, and they took on two new guitarists/vocalists: Bob Welch and Bob Weston, and a keyboard player, Christine Perfect (who married John McVie and became Christine McVie) who also sang. The only really well known song from this era was "Sentimental Lady". After Welch and Weston left, they added Lindsay Buckingham and Stevie Nicks, and became superstars, putting out three absolutely classic albums (Fleetwood Mac, Rumors, and Tusk),. This is the best known era, and there are great song sung by each of the three lead singers (Lindsay Buckingham, Christine McVie, and Stevie Nicks) They ran into personal trouble in the mid 80s. Members left and came back and they released some albums with other vocalists and guitarists, and they finally had a full reunion in the mid 1990s. Recently Lindsay Buckingham was fired again, and replaced by Neil Finn (vocalist, formerly of Split Enz and Crowded House) and Mike Campbell (guitarist, formerly of The Heartbreakers). It's a lot, I know, but this is one of the longest lasting bands with an intense back story.
I'm old enough to have seen PG's FM before Danny Kirwan joined (ouch!). Good synopsis btw. I would add "Man Of The World" to your suggestions for the first phase.
You guys should try the original line-up of Fleetwood Mac (when they were a blues band) with the song 'Need Your Love So Bad' and/or the amazing Live version of 'I'm So Afraid' from the album 'Fleetwood Mac-Live'.....this song is also sung by Lindsay Buckingham.
Christine McVee, in my opinion, has a much better voice than Stevie Nicks. Might I suggest listening to "Tell Me Lies" or, on this Album, Rumors, you can listen to "Oh Daddy" for excellent examples of Christine's vocals...I'll be anxiously waiting for your reaction to those.
I always liked her voice too… I went and saw them live in 2019. Poor girl idk what happened but she does not sing that great live. Stevie out sang her big time that night.
I love seeing people discover Fleetwood Mac and the Rumours album for the first time! Rumours is regarded as one of the best albums of all time, rightly so as every song is pretty much a hit/masterpiece. As others have said, "Go Your Own Way" was Lindsey Buckingham (singer/guitarist) singing to Stevie about their relationship. Also I think someone already said but Lindsey was the guitarist who accompanied Stevie for the "Landslide" performance (Stevie wrote "Landslide" about her relationship with Lindsey). Also, side note but has to be said: Lindsey is one of the greatest guitarists EVER and doesn't get enough credit IMO, he's phenomenal and very unique. Please keep checking out Fleetwood Mac & the Rumours album!! If you want to hear another female voice (Christine McVie) listen to Songbird, Don't Stop, You Make Loving Fun, Everywhere, Over My Head, or Say You Love Me - all great songs.
You should definitely check out Songbird or You Make Lovin' Fun form this album. That featured the third lead singer, Christine McVie. She plays piano and keys as well.
I remember hearing Stevie Nicks saying he just started singing this and she knew it was about her, and the line "shacking ups all you wanna do" she went in an empty room with a pen and pad and wrote her reply to this which was "dreams" love their story and songs 🎵
FYI....this song is from their album called 'Rumours.' This album was the best-selling album in music history until Michael Jackson's album 'Thriller' topped it. Fleetwood Mac is one of the most successful groups ever. As others have commented, the two couples in the group were going through break-ups and the songs on this album were written about what they were going through. I've mentioned it before, but there were 3 singer/songwriters in the group. Lindsey Buckingham wrote this to Stevie Nicks about his feelings on their relationship that was ending. Stevie Nicks wrote another song on this album called 'Dreams' in response to this song about her feelings for and about Lindsey. The other couple in the group that were breaking up was Christine and John McVie. Christine wrote and sang songs on this album about them, too! Critics say that this drama that the band members were going through, was the reason the songs were so powerful and became so popular and most people agree.
" little lies " shows the other female singer Christine mcvie taking the lead, on this current track it's Lindsay Buckingham taking the lead, he was with Stevie nicks for a while, complicated band as far as relationships go, several swapping and changing episodes within this band !!
The whole Rumours album was an intense primal couples therapy session that ultimately ended the two couples relationships (and eventually the band), but the end product was (and still is) considered a musical masterpiece. And then, they had to go out and tour it. It wasn’t an easy time for the band members.
it was kinda like the 70s aapocalyps. After this explosion, the 70s settled into more of a laid back, Let me catch my breath, Mode. Sil fantastic music but in a lighter way.....Well, except foR Van Halen and AC DC. jOURNEY, fOREIGNER, bOSTON ETC WERE ROCKERS BUT NOT qUITE AS RAMBUNCUOUS- .
Rumours is 'the two marriages within the band are breaking up horribly: The Album.' (I think you were thinking of two different other songs - "Dreams" is the one in the viral video, but it sounded more like you were humming "Rhiannon.") (Also, heads up, Fleetwood Mac can be block-happy. Tread carefully!)
A big shout-out for the rhythm section, who power this tune along, and from whom the band was named, having started the band well before Buckingham and Nicks came along. Love that melodic bass by John McVie, and the offbeat drum figure by Mick Fleetwood.
All my life, I never considered myself one of those people who loves _everything_ a particular group does. I thought I was someone who just liked individual songs here and there. When I got my first iPod and put all my music on it, I was surprised to see it was dominated by a few groups. Fleetwood Mac is one of them.
You need to see a live video of this. Through the whole thing, Stevie and Lindsey are staring daggers at each other. The line about "shacking up" seriously pissed her off.
If you really want to see daggers, Silver Springs from The Dance is the ultimate. That was Stevie’s answer to this song but didn’t make it onto the album.
I had the pleasure of being an extra on "Holiday Road", Lindsey was so kind to all of us, especially after the 10th time we got smoked with beeswax on set : )
Since Amber digs that hippie vibe, she needs to hear "Hypnotized." I think you would both love "Oh Well" and Jordan would probably like "The Green Manalishi (With The Two Pronged Crown). That song was later covered in true metal fashion by Judas Priest. Check out the original AND the cover. I'd love to know which you prefer!
Lindsey Buckingham, Stevie Nicks and McVie are the lead vocalists for the classic lineup of Fleetwood Mac. The rest of the band add great harmony vocals that help blend the already incredible harmonies of the front trio.
So from what I remember Stevie saying in an interview once, was that once she was done writing Dreams, she went to show it to the rest of the group. Lindsey heard it & got upset (since she was basically talking abt him in that song). He then went & wrote this song in anger. Stevie has said that she always hated singing this song bc she felt insulted in the ways he described her & their relationship in this song (ex-shacking up is all you want to do). She said, you can hear it the way he sang this song, the tempo, the way he played the guitar. 🤷♀️ Fleetwood Mac is my fave group of all time! Subscribed to y'all recently & I've been loving watching your reactions! ❤❤
It is an interesting story on how Stevie Nicks and Lyndsey Buckingham came to join Fleetwood Mac. Fleetwood Mac, a well known blues/rock band who just lost their vocalist (Bob Welch) was at a recording studio and heard a demo of a very unknown duet by "Buckingham-Nicks" while they were at that studio. That is when Fleetwood Mac reached out to Buckingham-Nicks to join their band. And the rest is history.
Previous to joining Fleetwood Mac Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham were a couple, Lindsay wrote this song to Stevie after she broke up with him and started dating the drummer.

I’m 56 too. 57 in June ‘22. This album is the soundtrack to 7th and 8th grades. One of our coming of age albums.
Facts
Kelly LaFlash when you said spend weeks I thought you meant their story! And how the band's interrelationships is essential to the music. It would take forever to explain all of this!

Am I the only one that's profoundly sad that Lindsay was fired? After everything they've endured; drugs, infidelity within the group, etc.... They were never supposed to break "The Chain".
I was and still am upset about this. I’m a huge Lindsey fan. I think it’s funny that they had to bring on 2 guitarists to fill his spot
I, for one, hope he didn't let the door hit him in the ass. Team Stevie forever!!!
He refused to go on tour. What choice did they have?
He was fired during the Tango in the Night tour, it seems to happen every 30yrs lol
The Chain is an amazing song and maybe even Fleetwood Mac's best.
That and Rhiannon at least in my opinion.
Lindsey Buckingham is singing lead here. That is Mick Fleetwood and Stevie Nicks on the album cover though.
Every song on that album is pure gold. React to all of them.
What a great band! What a great era!!! The Golden Age of Music!!! Vocals, drums, guitar...pure talent!!!
Christie McVie that is
@@bradlynelson357 Or even Christine McVie :) The base player is her ex John McVie
The name Fleetwood Mac came from Peter Green, the founder of the band, wanting to name it after its rythym section Fleetwood (Mick) Mac (John McVie).
@@John_Locke_108 LMFAO
I think the worst was Christine McVie cheating on her husband then writing a song about how great the sex was with him, and singing it on stage with said husband right there.
Heck look up their 1982 live performance of "The Chain" they're SCREAMING the lyrics at each other.
What happens if you lock 4 people that used to love each other and then hate each other in a recording studio for a few months? If they don't kill each other first they write Rumors one of the greatest albums of all time, each song different, each song a hit
Or "The Winner Takes It All" by Abba :)
Don't forget about the mounds and mounds of coke they were doing, haha.
Actually there were 5. You probably missed John McVie, Christine's ex
@@badplay156
I think Boondock meant that you had 4 band members in the middle of breakups with each other...the McVies and Lindsay and Stevie...when they were recording the album.
@@wreckingKREW1 also Mick Fleetwood and his wife were having troubles in their marriage
In " Landslide " Stevie is singing to Lindsay........ In " Go Your Own Way " Lindsay is singing to Stevie.
Wrong. Dreams and Silver Springs were written about Lindsey.
Stevie nicks usually gets the lion's share of the credit for Fleetwood Mac's success. And while she was certainly a great singer, song lyricist, and of course beautiful woman, to me it was Lindsey Buckingham who was the individual most responsible for their superstardom in the last version of the group.
Agreed!
As incredibly talented as Stevie is as a singer and songwriter, Lindsey is her equal in both plus being an extraordinary guitarist and producer.
@@stpnwlf9 Far above her!
Absolutely. Lindsey was the one responsible for steering that ship after Rumors. If not for him, there's no "Tusk" or "Tango in the Night." While Stevie was busy getting trashed, Lindsey was the creative force for the band into the late 80's.
Definitely
The greatest breakup album of all time, Rumours. One of the best albums ever.
Give "The Chain" a try. The ending is unforgettable. Fleetwood Mac is timeless.
U hear so much crap about those 2 ...hard telling what's true
Stevie wouldn’t sing it if she didn’t want to. She said in an interview, when she broke it off with Lindsey, she told him she wasn’t quitting Fleetwood Mac and neither was he. That Fleetwood Mac was bigger than both of them. So they made it work as they sang their feelings at each other.
Of course Dreams is her making him sing and play while she tells him how badly he fuc#ed up - and what he had and what he lost.

Leather and Lace with Don Henley is great too.
🤘🏻😎
Lindsay Buckingham is singing this, he had been Stevies boyfriend, he wrote the song to her, after the break up.
And that's why you really shouldn't date a band mate.
@@Drescher1984 Yeah but their magic has always been undeniable! Their drama made AMAZING music and their chemistry is everything!
You shouldn't cheat on your band mate boyfriend with another bandmate.
@@Drescher1984 They were together way before they joined band, i believe they were high school sweethearts.
The live version of this is epic!!!
Fleetwood Mac was actually a British blues band before they overhauled and reinvented themselves with Stevie Nicks to become the "Fleetwood Mac" most people know. Their blues stuff is 🔥🔥🔥
Need Your Love So Bad is one of their best from their blues era.
Lindsay is also one of the most underrated guitar players in the world.
Go your own way SCREEEEEEAMS 70s
You got that right ! I like to check in on his epic solo doing Big Love every few months. I think it’s my #1 favorite performance that I’ve ever seen.

Not only is rumors one of the best albums ever. It's so savage, I love it.
Amazing
FYI: Lindsey Buckingham was one of artists that participated in “USA for Africa.”
Lindsay Buckingham is an EXCELLENT guitar player. He’s touring (solo) and coming thru the 405 in December - he puts on a great show! 👏👏👏
Lindsay wrote this about Stevie. Love this song 💗💗💗
Three singers actually. There’s Stevie Nicks, Lindsey Buckingham and Christine McVie. Do you want to hear a beautiful song, that should make you cry, isten to Songbird by Fleetwood Mac
I absolutely LOVE songbird
The drums and guitar just make this song great!
Check out “Silver Springs” where Stevie is staring him down as she sings.
Lindsey Buckingham’s solo song “Trouble” is awesome as is the theme song to the movie Vacation, which he sang as well; Holiday Road.
Memories.
My husband and I walked out of the church on our wedding day to Fleetwood Mac's "You Make Lovin' Fun." 😊
So classic! 💜💜💜
If this song dont slap hard,,, MY NAME AINT TED LOL
Y'all did it again! They are and will be one of the GOATs. The album, Rumors, is iconic! It's all about the members breaking up and sleeping with each other!
Also, Stevie begged Lindsey to take out the "shacking up" line in the song, but he refused.
If you like the drums, check out their song Tusk.
And horns. Lots of horns.
In the video it also has USC Trojans marching band
“Dreams” is the song you are talking about and it’s great!
Yup, the one in the TikTok video -- just to clarify.
This is a man singing AND he's playing the kick-ass guitar!
What a song! Lindsay is the bomb
The drums are off the charts
This is the best known era, and there are great song sung by each of the three lead singers (Lindsay Buckingham, Christine McVie, and Stevie Nicks)
They ran into personal trouble in the mid 80s.
I still believe that Fleetwood Mac with Peter Green was the best incarnation of the band.
@@jannsmart7005 I love Fleetwood Mac, (Stevie Nicks, Lyndsey Buckingham, Christie McVie et al) but I agree Peter Green was awesome
Do not forget Need Your Love So Bad.
And don’t forget Stevie Nicks had an affair with Don Henley of The Eagles
You guys should try the original line-up of Fleetwood Mac (when they were a blues band) with the song 'Need Your Love So Bad' and/or the amazing Live version of 'I'm So Afraid' from the album 'Fleetwood Mac-Live'.....this song is also sung by Lindsay Buckingham.
Definetly need to check out "The Chain" by Fleetwood Mac.
The band reunited for Bill Clinton's Inauguration ceremony and performed this song.
Christine McVie is on Keyboard/Organ, vocals. Stevie Nicks on lead vocals, with Lindsay Buckingham. John McVie on Bass. Mick Fleetwood on Drums.
"For You" on Rumors is the ultimate Christine McVie song
Agree.
Songbird
But stevie has that distinct voice that separates her and other female vocalists.
This band has several singers.
Check out Stevie Nicks and Tom Petty singing “stop dragging my heart around”, it’s a classic
Wasn't Buckingham fired to make room for Petty's drummer? Something like that....
And they also sing together Leather and Lace
You should definitely check out Songbird or You Make Lovin' Fun form this album. That featured the third lead singer, Christine McVie. She plays piano and keys as well.
I remember hearing Stevie Nicks saying he just started singing this and she knew it was about her, and the line "shacking ups all you wanna do" she went in an empty room with a pen and pad and wrote her reply to this which was "dreams" love their story and songs 🎵
I'm loving the musical journey you guys are on and really enjoy your reactions 💓
THE 7 TIES s BABY
" little lies " shows the other female singer Christine mcvie taking the lead, on this current track it's Lindsay Buckingham taking the lead, he was with Stevie nicks for a while, complicated band as far as relationships go, several swapping and changing episodes within this band !!
WELLCOME To the 1970s
Christine sings many leads
I spent a summer swanning around Harefield, Harrow and North London & every pub and everyone's home etc was playing Rumours...
Listen to the entire album. I can't stressed that enough!!!
Sil fantastic music but in a lighter way.....Well, except foR Van Halen and AC DC. jOURNEY, fOREIGNER, bOSTON ETC WERE ROCKERS BUT NOT qUITE AS RAMBUNCUOUS-

Lindsey Buckingham sang lead on this song
Rumours is 'the two marriages within the band are breaking up horribly: The Album.' (I think you were thinking of two different other songs - "Dreams" is the one in the viral video, but it sounded more like you were humming "Rhiannon.")
(Also, heads up, Fleetwood Mac can be block-happy. Tread carefully!)
A big shout-out for the rhythm section, who power this tune along, and from whom the band was named, having started the band well before Buckingham and Nicks came along. Love that melodic bass by John McVie, and the offbeat drum figure by Mick Fleetwood.
“Litttle Lies “ is great You should listen to ALL their albums and ALL their Solo stuff as well .... SPECTACULAR GIFTS !!!!!!
Christy McVee is so underated. I actually like her over Stevie.
🤟🏻😎👍🏻
Another one that he sings so perfectly is "Monday morning"! You gotta hear it! It's one of my favorites! Second hand fool is also really cool!
I had the pleasure of being an extra on "Holiday Road", Lindsey was so kind to all of us, especially after the 10th time we got smoked with beeswax on set : )
Hey yall, try some Hall & Oats! My fav is "Sarah Smile".
The best album ever recorded. There are simply no arguments strong enough to argue this point 😄
Fleetwood Mac is my fave group of all time! Subscribed to y'all recently & I've been loving watching your reactions! ❤❤
Gotta do "Grand Funk Railroad - Inside Looking Out" live
Lindsey Buckingham is the singer here. He was Stevie Nick’s boyfriend. Stevie joined band because of Lindsey.
Lindsey and Stevie had an album out before joining Fleetwood Mac called Buckinghame/Nicks hear it here th-cam.com/video/E1kHeix-55c/w-d-xo.html
Fleetwood Mac is a very rare well rounded band where they are all singers.
I think there are 3 lead singers in the group, Lyndsey Buckingham, who’s singing this, Christine Mcvie , and Stevie Nicks, who’s on the cover of the album with Mick Fleetwood
