They’re freezing him to keep him from overheating (caused by a huge spike in his radioactivity levels) temporarily to prevent him from causing a nuclear explosion that would engulf the planet or cause a black hole
Didn’t you watch the movie burning Godzilla’s heart was turning into a live nuclear reactor from the volcanically triggered uranium deposit on birth island that Godzilla absorbed turning him into burning Godzilla and turned him into a walking nuclear reactor ready to blow and beginning to meltdown and cause a global catastrophe so they froze Godzilla not to kill him or hurt him but to cool him off so the effects of his meltdown won’t destroy the planet
This is a powered-up Godzilla and SX-3 still tanks a direct hit from him. The engineers really did their job with this one.
