Yes, I definitely would. I would love to get up to the North Shore to rock hound as well day/night. But, I'll have to wait until after my trucks fixed and I reinstate my license. Love your videos and so do my girls. I started them early on rock hounding. Have a blessed year!!!🤗🙏🏻🤠
70yr old prospector That's the hardest part for me, to leave or put a rock back 😅. I don't know how you guys do it. An by golly I got 958...and a half buckets of rocks in my garage to prove it😂 There's treasures out there to be found ROCK ON 🎉
taylor...im watching rock hound on the lakes and your bucket keeps running away easy solution...get a coil like a telephone cord they sell them at walmart in the craft section... and get carbine clips to hook onto you and the bucket handle that way your hands free to pick up and film..you could also can get those pool foam things and attach that onto the bucket side , to hold mr scoopy. easy to push in and pull out and not lose him;];];] all water proof too;];];];];] you can get a tube of foam glue to attach it like silicone .. it will def hold.. just press in tight against the bucket and let cure. done;];];] love your channel;];];] you have the coolest stuff . from maine;];]
You're such a good dad! Love hearing you look out for Scoopy with such love. "No Scoopy-don't fall in." Pure joy. ❤ Hope I didn't misspell his name. Not sure if he's a "ie" or "y." 😉
I love going to our beaches at night to look for beach glass. So I absolutely love how you went night rock hounding. I think you can see everything so much clearer at night. Well as long as you have a really good headlamp or flashlight. 😁 yes I’d love to see more!!!
7:08 The winner of the night. The rare ones like that make the trips worth it. I've yet to find one like that on North Shore. I will be very happy when I finally find one. After watching I probably won't try to night hunt unless for yooperlites. I do like those flashlights.
I had a prior plan for this morning, so I didn't watch until later. I have a bird, a conure named Itty (short for Itty Bitty) and she was mimicking your laugh when we were watching together. You are the only person she has mimicked, bedside me. She knows a good laugh when she hears one!😂😂😂
Great to see Scoopy on the job You are one of the few who pick up porphyry I really love all the random contrasts it offers The Prenite is beautiful as well Can’t wait to see what you do with your new finds!
Very fun! Your mastery of video work and content is unsurpassed by any other rock content creators. Always entertaining and well worth a view, like, and comment!! Thanks for posting
Your so fun....I'm a rockhounder from oregon....my name is "Oregon Gal".... been watching you for a couple of years...I have learned alot....God bless you and yours
At first I thought maybe darkness helped find a particular type of rock (yoopers, UV light sensitive, etc). But I'm guessing it's because at this time of year in Northern Minnesota, darkness comes really early. It was fun - felt sort of mysterious about what rocks you found to examine in the light!
Love watching your channel. I think you should attach your viewing cube to your jacket with some sort of bungee cord so it doesn't get away from you! Good luck in your rock hounding!
Wonderful video! I might have a helpful recommendation Taylor, maybe you could tie a cord to the handle of your plexiglass box and tie it to your wrist or gear etc. that way it wont float away as you are focusing in on your finds! Love your videos.
Put some type of a rope in the box handle and around your wrist so the box does not get away from you. We dont want you to loose it or have you drown trying to get it. I have wanted to get a piece of jasper.. Really enjoyed the night hunt. I have an amethyst abd a polished blue and gray agate from your collections.
You could put a dog leash around the handles of your bucket and attach it to your belt and you wont have to worry about it getting away or having to chase it just a thought
Wow! The water is so clear! (And undoubtedly cold. But clear.) Yes, if you aren't going to be too cold, more night rock hunting! What do you think you might do with the prophery? It's too interesting to let it stay dry.
I'd love to see you do more Rockhounding videos, it looked so much fun. Those porphry rocks were an insane find. I've never seen Filtsbur sprays so big before.👍. Thanks for taking us along😁
I’d love to see more nighttime rock hounding! Does your flashlight have a UV setting? You could go hunting for Yooperlites! I suppose if you found any in Minnesota, they would have to be called fluorescent sodalite, but you could come to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan to look for them!
Great video! New subscriber here, just started my own channel and having a blast with it. Keep up the good work and I'll keep tuning in. Be safe and happy new year.
I am NOT getting notifications! I have subscribed. Any ideas of what to do? PS: I LOVE< LOVE your videos and how you present in a honest, helpful, cheerful and descent (Yea YOU), manner. Bravo!!!!💗💗💗👍👍👍
Fellow Minnesotan here. You must have been out during that mild weather we had last week, just after Christmas Too cold now! I liked the pretty rock you decided to toss back. With the pinkish spots. That's one I would have pocketed! Thanks for all your fun videos!
So want to lap and polish so bad but just can’t afford the machines. Have the material butt no machines. Hard to justify the price for me. Enjoy what you do. Carry on now ya hear.
Now for the practical advice: Tie that box to yourself! I don't want to see a video of you screaming out . . . _W I L S O N!_ I hate to see grown men cry. 🤣
Another great video. The perspective of night made for a gorgeous view of underwater rocks. Have you ever thought about tethering your cube to yourself?😃
This was cool ! If it’s clear and conditions are right at night, you might look up and catch aurora - agates and aurora would be amazing. Happy new year🎉
@AgateDad Thanks for another enjoyable and informative video! I don't want to tell you how to live your life, but why don't you create a little leash or tether for your viewing bin? Then, hook it to a loop on your pants so your hands are still free.
I really enjoy watching your videos, it's amazing what you can discover inside of an innocuous bit of rock! Tell me, have you ever polished up a bit of 'ocean picture stone' yet?
Yep, it was like a little catfish or something. I took a screenshot of it. I knew I seen something Movin', and I think you were focusing in on it, but didn't say anything to see if anybody else seen it, I did see it.
Let me know if you want to see more night rockhounding!
Yes, I definitely would. I would love to get up to the North Shore to rock hound as well day/night. But, I'll have to wait until after my trucks fixed and I reinstate my license. Love your videos and so do my girls. I started them early on rock hounding. Have a blessed year!!!🤗🙏🏻🤠
As an Ohioan, does Lake Erie have anything like these….! I love rocks!
Your channel is amazing because of your level of excitement! Keep on rocking!
Try putting lights in ziplock bags so that their submerged but floating on the top of the water. Lights up a lot more and looks really neat!
Yes, very cool video, I was hoping you gonna cut them also at the end :).
Yes, please!
Yes, please !!! More rockhounding ...day and night !!! 😁

I would end up with hypothermia because I’d find “just one more cool rock” all night. 😂
Me too
You're such a good dad! Love hearing you look out for Scoopy with such love. "No Scoopy-don't fall in." Pure joy. ❤
Hope I didn't misspell his name. Not sure if he's a "ie" or "y." 😉
Wow! That sounds like a lot of fun!!! What a Great idea!
It was! Lake Superior is the best!
Mr. Scoopy's smile is so cute! He likes night rockhounding!
Yes more nights. I have often wished you'd be able to see the water out farther and just look. I truly hope you weren't out alone.😊
I love going to our beaches at night to look for beach glass. So I absolutely love how you went night rock hounding. I think you can see everything so much clearer at night. Well as long as you have a really good headlamp or flashlight. 😁 yes I’d love to see more!!!
That was fun! Let's do it again. I'm glad the lake cooperated with the wind and waves. Happy New Year!

Absolutely, I want to see more night rock hounding.
I don't want you freezing or getting sick, but if the weather is decent, it would be a blast. ❤

What fun! It makes me feel like I'm on the hunt too AND I'm learning a lot! Thanks for all your ideas and time that you share with us.😊❤
When my river spot re-opens, I'm camping over night! You've convinced me it's a good idea.

That was so fun!! Thanks for taking us along. ❤
Looks like it was a ton of fun …Thanks for sharing ❤
Great segment! Enjoy the new opportunities with the new gear. Always excited to watch the adventures.
You know you like to look for rocks in peace and quiet when you go out at night
😂
Night rockhounding rocks!😊
Your so fun....I'm a rockhounder from oregon....my name is "Oregon Gal".... been watching you for a couple of years...I have learned alot....God bless you and yours
A clear full moon night would probably be the best setup with the lights plus a bigger view tray
One of these days, I would like to do some rock hounding on Lake Superior from the UP side. Be about 10 hrs drive. I'm in Fort Wayne Indiana
At first I thought maybe darkness helped find a particular type of rock (yoopers, UV light sensitive, etc). But I'm guessing it's because at this time of year in Northern Minnesota, darkness comes really early. It was fun - felt sort of mysterious about what rocks you found to examine in the light!
I really enjoyed the night view! Maybe next time bring that special uv light and try to find a Yooperlite 😁
I’ll try, probably no Yoopers in MN but we will see!
Love watching your channel. I think you should attach your viewing cube to your jacket with some sort of bungee cord so it doesn't get away from you! Good luck in your rock hounding!
Happy new Year 😉 beautiful Rocks😀
Happy new year. Yeah, those first rocks was nice. Oh, a cute little fish tooand it got better, I loved many of them, so a good new year!!!
I am looking forward to seeing the reveals for these promising rocks ☺️. Great job Agate Dad!
Looked cold but a lot of fun! Thanks for taking us along! 😊❤
Happy New Year's. I really enjoy watching your videos they are awesome keep up with the awesome content.
Definitely would like to see more night videos do you find any yooperlight in lake Superior....? Can't wait to see when you open these❤
I'm excited that you're out hounding. Happy New Year❤
Me too!
Wonderful video! I might have a helpful recommendation Taylor, maybe you could tie a cord to the handle of your plexiglass box and tie it to your wrist or gear etc. that way it wont float away as you are focusing in on your finds! Love your videos.
Happy new year! Nice pieces you have found there.

Looks like pattylevasseur4041 had a better idea in the same line as mine.
Day or night is big fun.
You could put a dog leash around the handles of your bucket and attach it to your belt and you wont have to worry about it getting away or having to chase it just a thought

I try to get out as much as I can, doesn’t always work 😂
Would love to see more night time hunting!!😊
You are truly dedicated,
but I'm shivering, and I'm sitting in a warm house!
Yikes:)
Rik Spector
I've always wanted to find chlorastrolite since malachite is one of my favorites! Glad I found your channel, can't wait to watch this one 🙃
I've done agate hunting at night in lune river Tasmania Australia. Only problem I had was keeping track of tools 😂
Mark them with florescent paint and/or wear a fishing vest. Plenty of pockets to keep things handy.
Fluorescent popalite
Like the porphyry!
I bought my first hi tech 6" lap saw and I can't wait to start cutting into the 5 pounds of african malawi agate nodules
Oh look 61 North xD I'd recognize that reddish road anywhere xD
YES!!! More nighttime rockhounding!!!🌌💎🌌💎🌌💎
I hope you get a chance to go back to that spot during the day sometime. Thanks for another fun video, and God bless you in the new year!
It’s kind of nice at night when the wind lets up 😂
Right?
You should do a black light hunt.
You needed a black light to look for yooperlites. They glow orange.
Great finds. You're pretty hard core being out there. You should name your view cube Qbert.
LOL!
@@AgateDad Do you remember that old video game? You might be to young.
Would love to see more night searches, can you attach A UV light and maybe find some yooperlights?
Great video! New subscriber here, just started my own channel and having a blast with it. Keep up the good work and I'll keep tuning in. Be safe and happy new year.

Dude I love your cutting videos but finding your own and cutting your own are the very best times! God bless
should have brought a blacklight with you. would have found some sweet ones!
Not sure about that in MN, I’ll have to try next time
@@AgateDad could be interesting to find out
I personally think you should not do anything to stop your bucket from floating away. Makes some great content when you have to chase it 😂
Dude! I was super impressed how well the light worked attached to your bucket!
Yes!!!
Good morning, nice video. Next time, try using an UV light for surprises.

Do not drop your phone in the lake! LOL!
That was an amazing trip and I really dig that oolitic red jasper!

Try attaching your cube by a cord to you, AG! Love that I learn from you!! Thank you much! Happy 2025!!
The water was so calm! Might be worth having more night hunts…
Please say you kept the rock you found at 8:55!!!!! I have a thing for striped ones like that!
I really enjoy watching your videos, it's amazing what you can discover inside of an innocuous bit of rock! Tell me, have you ever polished up a bit of 'ocean picture stone' yet?
Near leaf Ericson park you can find some beautiful banded jasper
You could get a uv light to look for any fluorescent rocks.
hoping the rare stone is thomsonite!!🤞🤞
I'm going to guess some type of agate. Unless he's at at one particular beach then it could be Thomsonite in matrix.
My son wants us there come here now ❤
Yep, it was like a little catfish or something. I took a screenshot of it. I knew I seen something Movin', and I think you were focusing in on it, but didn't say anything to see if anybody else seen it, I did see it.
I love finding prehenite on lake superior
You should bring a uv flashlight for finding yooprilites
3:27 just stuck out in there!
Maybe add a UV flashlight next time to see if anything lights up for you that way?
I could try!
Oh creepy I couldn’t do it I have issues with the night 🤷♀️
What is the rare stone? The dino bone guy?
Yes
YES
Hi Scoopy!
should have taken a u.v light, see if you could find yooperlites!
Not in MN
@@AgateDad ya never know
I would love to do this! I’m wondering why you don’t tie a line to your viewing cube…?
If it gets filled with water and sinks, then I’m attached to it.
@ got it! We wouldn’t want that…especially when you have rocks in your pockets!😉
