For the 2 fingers it's related to ancient French vs England war in medieval area. English archer had fun to show their 2 fingers to french army to tell them same result as a middle finger. French army was know to cut this 2 fingers when they made english bowman captured. I didn"t know it was kinda forbiden in UK
It's not exactly forbidden, it's just impolite. It's exactly the same as giving someone the middle finger. And to be honest, we tend to just use the middle finger instead nowadays anyway.
For the middle finger it was a mocking action to those who never captured them. Captured archers would have their middle finger chopped off so they could no longer fire an arrow again. It was a way of saying screw you I'm still at it.
That's a legend. Contemporary accounts directly contradict it, it's just more modern English propaganda (much like a lot of stuff written about the Hundred Years War).
@VinceVibe yeah it's true what you say, that happened between English and French soldiers, in the 100 years war. Like the English soldiers were so good with their arches, and the French soldiers started to use bayonets, so the French army started to capture English archers and they cut their two fingers. So the English archers that where free, used to show they're two fingers to the French army and it's the equivalent off the middle finger in other countries.
The french would cut of the two fingers for drawing the bow off english long bow men when they were captured. So on the battle field the English archers would stick the two fingers up at the French before a Battle during the 100 years war.
The crime of selling fish in "suspicious circumstances" is completely true and exists in British law, though it's nearly always lazily misrepresented in those lists. For starters, it's not an "archaic" law that happens to still exist, it's actually from the Salmon Act 1986. It's also specific to salmon (as the name suggests), so doesn't apply to fish in general. Most importantly, though, the oft-touted crime has nothing to do with selling fish _in a suspicious manner._ Rather, the Act makes it a crime for anyone to buy, sell, or otherwise handle (including delivery) any salmon in circumstances where there is or could reasonably be a suspicion that the salmon was illegally fished. This and several other provisions of the Act are designed to reduce salmon poaching, hence the crime is broadly "receiving or disposing" of salmon in circumstances where the _salmon_ and its origins are suspicious, not necessarily its handler (unless, of course, the handler is why you're suspicious).
The v finger gesture facing away (knuckles out ) is offensive dating back to Agincourt when the french chopped off archers two fingers that were used to draw the bow archers would show these two fingers at the opposing soldiers .the same two fingers but reversed knuckles facing yourself is associated with Winston Churchill and is v for victory.

Selling fish in a suspicious way is a thing and relates to the salmon act of 1986. It is to do with selling or buying of salmon that has been caught illegally. When we were young we were told that English archers were so deadly that if the French caught them they would remove a finger thereby rendering them useless as archers and hence those with both fingers who use the gesture to show the enemy that they were ready to kill them. Not all people like this
for UK maybe next time bring someone whos from somewhere other than england, england is not the only conutry in the UK.
I'm English and this guy doesn't represent us, or our attitude to this. He's just annoyingly ignorant.
Oh come on Harry, even if you have never held a fish-I have neer held a fish but know of Text of the Salmon Act 1986-in documentaries, papers. etc
In india we just yell bhaiya to call the employees at restaurant, 🤣
Bhaiya means brother
Paying the bill in Australia is so much easier...the bill is paid at a cashier so it doesn't need to come to the table.
Yeah, if you're meeting friends or family dont use your phone. It's really rude. It's like saying that your phone is more important than the one you're with.
Why do most people from Spain don't even try to pronounce English correctly, this isn't the first time I see it, I mean, most people try to completely learn a language including pronunciation but Spanish from Spain
Harry, that's not what the two fingers stand for and you know it lmaooo
Tell us the other meaning pleaseeeee
I had a British teacher that did think the "v" gesture is so rude
@creatyourgoogleaccount tocontinuetoyoutube interesting. Thats in Italy?
Mas mas mas mas
Don't ask Germans what they think about your new apparel, job, car or opinion unless you're very keen to know...
Likely, they'll share their honest thoughts😂😂
Talking about other's appearances is really rude and please don't do it!
unfortunately we do it a lot in Iran:(
"U look fatter"
"U look more tinny"
"Your new hair cut isn't cool"
://///what the hell? really?
Okay that's one more thing I found we have in common with the Iranians in Greece it's exactly the same we don't have the concept of 'rudeness' and you can try hard to offend someone but you won't be successful we don't get offended and when we see something we say it, there is no holding back and when someone doesn't we are very suspicious about them
@creatyourgoogleaccount tocontinuetoyoutube Mind your own business if you don't know the person. Also, stop spamming the comments with this.
In the past. Pretty sure people still swear with their two fingers in the UK.
Am I the only one who always gets confused to hear the Victori II soundtrack being used in the videos?
If you want to know about the V, you should watch the Louis Black skit about the long bow
Greeting from🇬🇩
His name is Harry and he is from the UK........ and he wears Glasses
Es wird alles interessanter anzuschauen
I think that talking about appearance part is so over thinking
I miss the other French Girl idk her name🥺
Marina!
Do people not realise England and Scotland are different countries?
I think people are just lost with the terms. I guess they don't teach it well in school or people also doesn't listen or are interested lmao But people know that it's two different countries or at least, I hope...
@@pierrequiroulenamassepasmo66 Clearly there are people who don’t know they are two different countries otherwise they would not have mentioned it in the video. People’s stupidity never ceases to amaze me.
@@B_27 Yeah th'ats kinda sad :/
I think European cultures and taboos are a lot more similar to the ones in the US than Korea.
Yes, Americans are, for the most part, of European origin.
Our thumb .... In Iran, it is considered obscenity
In persian this is insulting 👍👍👍???
Yes this is insult
I use it in Iran
Harry fully knows English archers gave the French the V's to polite to say.
Ethereum 💋
You were not inspired by French taboos, and this is not even specific to France. But the concept of your videos is interesting !!
Y a que moi qui pense qu'il ressemble à Gad Elmaleh ?
Hahah, and so here we are, Mexicans, who nickname friends based on their worst physical appearance. For instance, someone who is fat will be "La gorda" (which means The Fat [female]) no matter the gender. Someone too skinny "El huesos", "La escoba" (Bones or Broom), and so on. I won't comment on skin color because there are so many sensible people on internet, but we don't really give that much importance to it. We might call you Milk or Tar...
Archers during the middle ages would have those two fingers cut off to stop them doing their thing. Showing those two fingers at the beginning of a battle would be shown to the opposite army as act of antagonism. It stuck and we still do it. It is an anachronism from the middle ages.
the V is rude its practically f off
I would love to be the British guy surrounded by European women. anyways-
I almost fall in love black girl. She's so cute Love you babe
Korean compliments are so underhanded it's hilarious. I think the younger generation is trying to change that but most of the time korean people try to be the best version of themselves in order to stop those kind of compliments. So in a way its seen as a way to encourage one another. But than there are those that are just jackasses, it's a crap shoot
Men meeting women and women meeting men? What about men meeting men and women meeting women?

Wo bist du bro ....
Ich denke dass ich verliebt bin 🤔🤔
