Sunset Heights. Remember it well. But even as old as I am, I did not know 'why' is was developed. Good story, young fella. What I DO remember is one of the streets that went up to Sunset Heights. The longest and scariest and best street in town for sledding after a big snow, North Monroe Street. Starting at the top and sledding all the way down to Titusville Hospital or Roberts Grove. Steep and curvy Had to do it before the snow plows or salt truck ruined it, of course :)
First Street was pretty fun, too. We never rode sleds down the hills, but I remember taking my bike up to the top and riding down as fast as I could. Pushing the bike up the hill wasn't so much fun though. 😂
I too want to know what and who used to be “there.” I look at old houses, go on Spokeo, see who lived there before. Look them up, descendants. And KEEP DRINKING GOOD OLD COCA COLA. It’s delicious, good for digestion.
I definitely am a curious person when it comes to places and historical spots. Coca Cola is my weakness 😊I definitely can’t turn it down , but that’s ok 🙂
I live near here and knew about it being developed for WW2 but never knew all the details! Pretty cool stuff! Thanks again as always!
Thank you appreciate the kind words 👍

Thank you 👍Yes!! North Monroe Street is steep and curvy. That hill is crazy in the winter.

Awesome story. You know one thinks and remembers World War 2, but doesnt think about what had to take place to keep the War effort going.
Crazy how Titusville was a big part of the war defense workers and the Factory's in town all did there part.

He was born January 30th like me because that's what made him a president, he was a caring person and worked for the people.
