  • Have CD's become Retro?!? The first CD was released almost 40 years ago...
I thought my local Goodwill was cheap with the CD's, at 48 cents a piece.
Got a mystery box of 100 used CD's for just under 30 bucks. Hard to beat 30 cents a pop.
So what's in it? Did we get a box of old AOL discs, and Windows 95 PC programs? Was it all obscure country and classical? Is it going to be Now That's What I Call Music Vols. 1-100? Is there anything worthwhile inside? Lets find out, shall we.
There are a few different sellers with these on eBay, but I ordered from this seller.

I always wondered what happened to thrift store CDs that didn't sell. Now I know.

I thought about buying one of these lots for the cases. Glad I didn't, considering all the cracks.

It would be far better for stores to put out bins and boxes of this stuff for a dime each, the way that smart record and thrift stores did back in the 70s and 80s. At least I was able to find good inner sleeves, covers and cases to reuse.

Mostly junk, you would have been better off spending the 30 bucks on coffee or something.

Not something I would do. I always look at the CDs when I'm in goodwill, but I only find at most one or two out of hundreds that interest me.

Its a lottery. Saw another video where the guy got about 40 Metal cds in there like ANTHRAX, METALLICA, SKID ROW, OZZY etc and he kept saying he doesnt like that stuff. Crazy but thats how it rolls.

@@RedWolfJC That said, at a recent record show locally, I scored a BTO, Spyro Gyra and similar better jazz/rock CD's from the dollar bins.
Goodwill's around Michigan range from $1.99 to $3.99(!) regular CD prices, but .99 on half off days.
Salvation Army has been better with genre selection of late, and is still 49 cents each, and in recent years as low as 5/dollar.
After thrifting for over 10 years, you get tired of having to read through every unsorted CD.
But at 50 cents or less I am less picky and will experiment.
Usually better finds at yard sales, and plan to hit Record shows more regularly for dollar bins and deal making with vendors for multiple discs of more sought after bands/artitsts

I must agreed with others that some of these are cringe worthy besides I would do better just sorting through the ones I know, pick and then buy
