I'm starting to think tidying my desk will be a megaproject... great video Mike. Have you considered making some videos that feature famous megaproject successes (and failures)?
Thanks, Stuart. No, I've not considered that, but I can certainly add it to my backlog. However, there are real challenges for outsider to really know what went on in past projects. And there is often a political dimension to success/failure too. Discussing the details of that may not chime with the approach I take on this channel.
A mega project, like any project has a single product, service, process, or asset to deliver or, possibly, a coherent set of products etc. A programme combines a range of different projects and initiatives, each with their own deliverable or set of deliverables. Some are enabling, others are ancillary, and some (of course) are primary. But there are a load of efforts going on simultaneously, that need to be coordinated. However, some of them can be cancelled, and still leave the remainder making good sense.
There are project managers who can deliver the biggest and most complex projects and I have massive respect for them. Theirs are Mga Projects.

Nice topic! Thanks a lot!
Glad you liked it!
Thank you for the video!
From your point of view what is a conceptual difference between a programme and a mega project?
