Kikuyus are actually the ones who fought the British for independence. Other communities were only involved in formation of petty political parties mainly to weaken Kenya African Union (KAU) which became Kenya African National Union (KANU) and even formed alliances with the whites to try]a nd acquire Kenya's independence.
