Hmm, that idea of inside and outside senses... We kinda *do* have inside senses. It's just, that those mostly aren't conscious ones. Most of those senses are presumably of the immune system or various other systems concerned with our internal balance. But still, they are senses, aren't they? They detect anomalies and change our bodies possibly quite profoundly in reaction to those anomalies. I mean some of it is just simple pretty automatic self-normalizing systems. But at the very least our immune system is almost like another species (or even a whole set of coevolved species) living inside us to keep us protected against the smaller threats, hivemind/swarm-intelligence style. I suppose in some ways multicellular life is just very strong coevolution. And even on the single cell level, modern animal cells are the result of two unrelated organisms coevolving, turning a parasitic relationship into a symbiotic one with huge benefits for both partners. And for another example that's perhaps more tenuous but still kinda A Thing, our intestinal flora has pretty sizeable repercussions for our health, wellbeing, and to an as yet to be determined degree even our behavior. So, especially with that last one, we're clearly reacting to the presence of something "inside us". We're just (mostly) not consciously aware. In both cases, there *is* some degree of consciousness whenever things become bad. I.e. we are typically aware that we are feverish or fatigued or sick etc. So long as it's not chronic anyways. Alternatively, you could view our intestinal flora as yet another organ, or perhaps as a crucial part of an organ (the intestines) which is entirely swappable and extremely adaptable. We can (briefly) live without it, but it provides us with huge benefits if we have it and it's well-balanced.
this talk is a watershed moment for recognition and the unpacking of the so-called Singularity that has already taken place inside of the networks of humans together with their generative models -- DALL-E 3 will accelerate this recognition; may this time of transition add to your agency and not subtract from it
This is good shit. Im glad other people are starting to talk about it. My best analogy is each human is an individual borg. There are billions above us and trillions below us. 😎🍆
Rudolf Steiner’s cosmology may help… Humans are special and have distinct role in the grand scheme, as do all the iterations of Divine individuation. Macro is God, micro are all the creations… Understand the 4 fold man and his sheaths before asserting the form has no special role
Just curious. Where would you or where do you think Levin would place the source of such an Intelligent Design (or Designer)? Would it reside within Nature as a subset, or perhaps be “All of Nature Itself”, or possibly something somehow outside of Nature?
@crazy1gadgets1 good question. Hard to say. Whatever the case, either an immanent intelligence or a transcendent one, or both... but one thing is certainly false: materialism: where simple laws and random shuffling of unintelligent matter gives rise to consciousness of intelligence. I still can't believe people still entertain such a demented idea as materialism or physicalism.
yes, we've been indoctrinated into materialism for a long time - old habits die hard, but the edifice is beginning to crumble, thanks to the work of Levin, Bernardo Kastrup, Donald Hoffman, and many others... IMO@@atmanbrahman1872

"when you investigate the intelligence of a system, you're really just taking an IQ test"
Awesome quotes from the brilliant Dr Levin.
Absolutely brilliant video!
Could this be an explanation as to why the placebo effect works? High level beliefs influencing changes more easily at the low level?
Thank you for sharing this content, peace

Is dall e like that robot cartoon?
Nah the folks at Open AI don't have the slightest idea 😅

I brain just exploded like one of those little anti-barium bacteria. And I'm only nine minutes in.

Why is he giving so many talks about the same material?
Because every video finds a different audience, due to how the algorithm works. He ultimately spreads his ideas to more people this way.
Everything he says sounds like Intelligent Design.
From the inside. Now central-planner designer required.
