There actually was no event finals, one compulsory and one optional decided everything, The mix of men and women seen here is the Gala, where the medalists performed routines before receiving the medals they previously won. This was also the day of the group rhythmic exercise that decided that gold as well as the women's team event. Amazing video!
First time women got to compete in gymnastics. And somehow the camera quality is better than some of the later ones I’ve seen haha. Interesting to see how the moves they do are different now. They do a lot more flips and stuff in the air on the beam now.

Men's gymnastics years light more artistic than today.

I’ve just watched a TH-cam video of women competing in gymnastics in 1936. So this wasn’t the first time at all.
