I think so long as Lightning Tendrils has guaranteed crit built in, it will be a viable league starter in SSF. (Except for those try-hards who think "league starter" means it MUST demolish red maps. Whatever. Elitist schmucks. 😉 )
I'm only in Act 5 as I post this, but it is incredibly fun. There is a bunch of potential versatility in this skill now.

My advise: instead of going MoM take Ivory Tower + Coruscsting Elixir with Traitor jewel. Then you have your whole mana pool for damage and life for auras. Also, Sanctuary of Thought gives you 20% max mana as ES

I would personally go with inquisitor and scale a lot of crit multi with marleyne amulet

Use a replica duskdawn as well. It’s literally the perfect item for the new lightning tendrils

I think the damage is pretty good but the clear ability is gimped by low AoE. You're probably better off running CWC with Arc/Crackling Lance which is what I'm trying right now. I'll post a follow up video later!
