We dont really know all that happened. These big companies sometimes make it plain they dont want to know anything negative about their "stars". I always thought Ann Curry made the show and now those who are left will do anything to keep their jobs. When I heard of the bullying and verbal abuse she suffered from co-workers, I stopped watching NBC altogether since they seemed to be okay with it. No repercussions for any employees for what they put her through. It got so bad she had to quit. I still don't watch NBC to this day because of it.

After she made such cruel comments about women who need to nurse their babies in public (keeping in mind that the vast majority of these women drape a blanket or do all they can to be discreet), I lost all respect for this stupid, entitled bitch. As I noted in another comment, with all due respect to Ms. Curry, I would have myself replaced Meredith Viera with Erin Burnett (then with CNBC and she had several stints filling in for Ms. Viera), who IMO would have likely brought her CNBC audience with her. A lot of that audience was high income male viewers who are very difficult to reach by advertisers and quite coveted by such (Ms. Burnett left after being passed over for the timeslot).

I wish people would understand that sexual harassment happens to men as well. I am a gay man who was repeatedly harrassed by the Hispanic kitchen crew at a restaurant in Florida. At first I brushed it off and tried to joke with them and hoped it would dissipate but it became a daily event that made me increasingly uncomfortable. Eventually I had to report it, and can you believe it- it made them angry!!! They said it was just in fun and I must not have ever worked in restaurant before because this was regular horsing around activity in kitchens. I said maybe in Costa Rica but I have a waiter for 25+ years and have never experienced this anywhere else

Ann Curry should have had the confidence to leave Today many years before she was ousted.. She was a newsreader for many years and was passed over as co-anchor when they hired Meredith Vieira . That should have been the time she left.
Yep. And NBC didn’t want her to be coanchor when Meredith left either, but they didn’t want to lose Ann and Meredith at the same time. So she was promoted into a job where she wasn’t the best fit. She was good as the news anchor but I always found her awkward as coanchor - she didn’t really have the ability to adlib in a polished way that Katie and Meredith have. And the ratings began to markedly decline shortly after she was promoted to coanchor. I’m sure she is a lovely person and it doesn’t excuse how they treated her. NBC really bungled the whole thing.
Back then, they should have gotten rid of Matt, and found someone new to put with Ann...if the ratings HAD gone down during that time, it was not her fault.

I’m sure she is a lovely person and it doesn’t excuse how they treated her. NBC really bungled the whole thing.
I had a crush on her for years. Couldn't believe when she was fired and that he ultimately was responsible.
Back then, they should have gotten rid of Matt, and found someone new to put with Ann...if the ratings HAD gone down during that time, it was not her fault.

Maybe Curry could be tapped for CNN cable news. She would be great with that. I hope we get to see Curry on a regular basis.
All these morning shows are trash... Why would I want to get anything from a news show that treats its employees like trash...
I like Ann curry a lot I can’t count how many time I passed to watch Today because Ann was no longer there!

She is one of a handful of Asian American anchors/ journalist featured prominently. Representation matters!!! The bottom line is she was ousted in favor of a White male. It was a huge loss. So, many women look-up to her. I'm glad she's vindicated in the end.
